My 92-year-old father spent the best part of a year at Mill Lodge. Throughout his time there he was consistently well cared for. He began eating regular meals, put on weight and enjoyed the company of the other residents who, like the staff, were friendly and welcoming. I was kept informed about my father's welfare by phone and email and was able to visit at any time. Thank you for caring for my father in his final year. The quality of care he received whilst at Mill Lodge was excellent.

Reply from Mar Bitor, Manager at Mill Lodge

Hi Mark, your dad has left a void in Mill Lodge, especially in the Bronte Unit. Despite his comorbidity, you could still see his caring and gentle nature. We are absolutely delighted to know that we have made an impact in your father's life, especially in his final year.

My mum has been poorly now for a week in bed. The carers (all of them) have been so nice and caring and attentive to Mum and my family. Mum's room has been kept clean every time we come back. The staff come in and have my mum smiling and checking she is comfy. The kitchen staff are very accommodating too nothing too much trouble which helps us as a family cope with what is going on with Mum. So big thank you to all.

Mum has only been here a week, having come from another care home. Can’t believe how much better she is, more chatty and eating better. The staff seem lovely and caring, and Mum seems more stimulated than in the other place - so glad she is here!

My father recently passed but has spent nine years in the care home in which he was very happy. I too was extremely happy with Mill Lodge Care Home, it is always kept clean and tidy to a high standard and the staff go above and beyond in their duties. My father was quite demanding but they dealt with his every need. I would 100% recommend Mill Lodge to anyone looking for a care home or a relative.

To the staff at Mill Lodge, I salute you!

My nan is in Mill Lodge Care Home, she’s been there since August 2019. She is happy, fed, clean and cared for. Over Easter, there were lots of things for residents to do. Even though Nan doesn’t leave her room much, she was still included. She was left crayons and pictures to colour, so she did it with my daughter. She had snacks brought in and she got an Easter egg.

Everyone is kind and they really care about all the residents. The home is always clean and fresh smelling. There’s a daily menu for meals each day out on the notice board and information of loads of events for the residents and families. It’s a brilliant place for anyone wanting care and contentment in knowing their family member is properly cared for.

Mum has been in Mill Lodge for 3 weeks. In that small amount of time, she has allowed showers and personal care. More importantly, she is eating again. She has dementia so it's difficult but she really is at home. I cannot praise the staff enough for the way they have cared for her and understood her. She is no longer distressed. She is calm and settled and I can sleep at night. What a wonderful bunch of nurses and carers. Their manager is fantastic.

We were so impressed with the quality of attention she received from all of the staff at Mill Lodge - the cleaners, nursing assistants, nurses and particularly the care home manager. He made my mum feel very special. In return my mother formed a bond of friendship will all of the team at Mill Lodge. She would sing "You are my Sunshine" as the staff brought her morning papers, she called them all angels as they dressed her, changed her bedding, brought her medication and meals and spent time with her, listening to her stories. We were particularly inspired by how the care home manager and senior nurse worked with his staff. He was always patient, calm thoughtful and attentive to my mother's needs, as he was with all the residents, and was able to give them time and help, as was needed, in a timely fashion. My mother's final days were spent without distress or pain with family members sitting by her bedside until passed away quietly.

My dad has just entered the nursing home Mill Lodge. As with any end-of-life care it's hard to take a step back and leave the emotional attachment to one side. At this time I know they do their best for my dad and all at the home. It's getting the balance right and on that front, I cannot complain. The management and staff have all done their best to help me understand. As long as my dad is looked after to the standards that form part of their daily routine, I am happy to recommend this home. No problems.

Absolutely outstanding care with Mill Lodge, if you are looking for options in Bradford you do not need to look any further. My dad has been a resident here for 2 years and the quality and service of care is fabulous. He is well looked after, always clean and tidy whenever I speak to him but most importantly, he often tells me he is happy and comfortable at Mill Lodge.

My father was placed in Mill Lodge on palliative care and was given no more than 13 weeks to live, nine months later, he has passed. The support and care given to him have been way beyond my expectations. This has given him extra time and improved his well being. The team has gone through extreme difficulties with COVID, but have done a fantastic job of looking after him, making him happy, comfortable and supported.

Mum came to Mill Lodge for palliative care. I had been recommended Mill Lodge by a family member and spoke to the manager who was very helpful and we arranged the admission. We have a very large family and the home accommodated all the visits we needed to make. The staff were so friendly and made us feel part of the home and the process in these difficult times. We had many conversations with the nurses and staff and we always felt like Mum came first. Sadly, Mum passed away but we cannot recommend Mill Lodge enough. All of the visitors said what lovely staff the home has.

Dear Sandra,

Thank you very much for the nice words. At Mill Lodge, we know that family members are integral to the care of our residents especially on their last few days in life. We are glad that despite what the family has gone through, we were able to provide you with comfort and re-assurance.

Our aunt was a permanent resident at Mill Lodge Care Centre from March 2021 until she passed away in December 2021. We visited her about 4 times a week and always found her to be very contented and happy with her lifestyle. She frequently commented: 'I couldn't have wished for a better place to stay and the food is lovely !'. We thank the management and all the carers for their loving care, attention and thoughtfulness given to our aunt during her stay.
