They have 62 beds with all rooms having en-suite facilities. Five of the rooms are large Victorian rooms and are used for double occupancy when requested.

They have been here as a care home for over 25 years. Their intake of residents relies predominantly on word of mouth, referrals from the hospital and from other homes.

Our Dad, responsible, a speaker in his career and church, supportive, funny, caring. He enjoyed life and everyone in it. Sadly struck down by a stroke, loss of speech and then the loss of his wife, our Mum.
How could he settle into a nursing home, losing his wife, his home and with Aphasia.
Well
Springs is a home filled with love, care, energy, happy, comforting and clean. Dad had a cheeky relationship with staff, although he could be stubborn, challenging at times. Clearly, he was loved and respected.
His friends/residents were also looked after because Dad wouldn't have settled if they weren't, always caring for other people. He loved the food, always first in the dining room. He was well groomed, had fabulous beard and haircuts. Staff shared jokes with his grandchildren. The little tots loved going.
God bless each of you hardworking adorable staff. We appreciate your love and support in his last hours. Thank you, you were his angels. We will miss you, you became our family.

We needed end of life care for dad and were extremely anxious about doing the very best possible for him; we would have preferred to look after him at home but this was impossible. Starting with the initial visit, nothing was too much trouble for Matron and her dedicated staff. They cared for dad in
a professional manner, treating him with gentleness, sensitivity and respect at all times, and taking into account family preferences with regard to care decisions. The entire family was constantly made welcome, looked after physically/emotionally and most importantly, treated as 'people' as opposed to clients - from providing dad with a birthday cake, feeding us at all times of the day/night, to attending dad's funeral, a final gesture which touched us very much. We were moved by the compassion of the staff and the way in which dad was treated with genuine care. We really could not have looked after my dad better at home. Thank you Well Springs; We are truly grateful for everything.

Mum was a resident for all too short a time as she was seriously ill on admission but the staff treated her like an old friend. The care and kindness shown to her by the staff was wonderful and everyone who visited mum remarked about the pleasantness and helpfulness of the staff. Right from the moment
when my sister and I went to look round, we were impressed by the attitude of the staff member who showed us around and explained the set up there. In the last few days of her life, the family were overwhelmed with the kindness and understanding shown to us. Mum was not fit to be involved in activities so it is hard for me to comment but there did always seem to be things happening when I walked past the lounge and the board showed a whole range of events.

My husband becomes quite aggressive and verbally abusive from time to time. Staff deal with this with great care and thought for him, other residents and also myself when visiting him.
He has very bad mood swings towards me and they take care of me as well as my husband with a great deal of thought
and understanding.

Having looked around various care homes, Well Springs appeared best because of it's homely and friendly atmosphere.
Many homes were better furnished and decorated but lacked that "caring feeling".

My friend has been resident here since April 2012, and I would like to say that through all this time I have been very impressed with all the staff at this home. Probably one of the most difficult decisions in life arises when a loved one needs to move into residential care. The best thing I've noticed about Well Springs Nursing Home is its staff. They give care to the residents with infinite patience and dignity thus ensuring a happy, homely environment. Everyone
is very welcoming - it is lovely to see residents and visitors greeted by name and with a smile! The decor is well maintained with lovely bedrooms which residents are encouraged to personalise and many a visit has been enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden. Having made regular visits to see my mother (a resident since 2010) and seen the loving care provided, there is no doubt that Well Springs Nursing Home was the right choice for her. Thank you to those who look after her so well.

My wife had a stroke doing mental damage in 10/1995, following she was in hospitals and care homes to December 1997 when she has a broken hip. On leaving hospital I got a place for her at Well Springs in January 1998. For 9 months my wife shouted and screamed when spoken to, she had a nice modern en-suite
single room, warm with pleasant garden views. The staff were very good, patient, caring as they had to toilet, dress, wash and feed my wife initially.
Gradually over 18 years in Well Springs my wife has made tremendous improvements, not shouting, knitting, and word search, she can answer questions (not if a decision is needed), is good humoured. The difference is remarked from when she went to Well Springs. Today the staff although changes have occurred, are a credit to Well Springs as are the management, they are nice people doing their best for all residents. Now my wife and I enjoy short trips out by car, bit of shopping etc.

Activity staff are brilliant with residents. Always doing different activities with them e.g. drawing, painting, quizzes etc. Care staff and domestic staff are good with residents. Toileting problems are an issue, staff not always available when required at times. (This is not all the time).

Having been an architect all his working life my husband at the age of 45 developed cerebellar ataxia. I managed to care for him for over 20 years but in Feb 2012 a care home was needed Well Springs Nursing Home was chosen and not having dealt with CA before they did wonderful care. His dignity always
maintained, help with feeding when required, personal hygiene excellent and spotlessly clean room. Well Springs Nursing Home was also my home as well as his as I could come and go when I wanted and take meals with him at anytime. Nothing has ever been too much trouble from any staff. Sadly my husband passed away after a long battle with CA on the 16th Oct 2015. I have no hesitation in recommending Well Springs Nursing Home to anyone needing care.

Hello! I am the Co-Owner and Managing Director here at Well Springs. We are a stand-alone family-run care home and it has been in our family’s ownership since 2006.


I joined the business in 2015 to work alongside my father, not before performing many roles in the home in my first year. This shaped my understanding of what it takes to work in care and many staff I worked with then are still here today. During my time in the business, I have been able to learn what it takes to offer truly Outstanding care and I will always strive to reach the high standards we set ourselves.


In my role, I meet all prospective families to show them the home and introduce them to the fabulous staff we have working here. Our staff are by far our biggest asset, and we work tirelessly to support them so that they can do the job to the best of their abilities. We have lots of “salt of the earth” people who have spent decades working here and embody our values every day.

I have been the Registered Manager at Well Springs since May 2018 however; I have been with the business since 2004 in other administrative roles. Before joining the business, I had an accounting background which has helped in my role, and I have built an extensive knowledge of the care sector in my time working at the home.

I have implemented many changes in legislation and care requirements over the years and take pride in trying to achieve the best outcomes for our residents. We have a fantastic team, without which it would be impossible to achieve the high level of care that we all take pride in.


Our reviews are a testament to the dedication and hard work that the whole team puts in. We strive to achieve outstanding results and a high standard of care.


My role involves leading the team, quality control and overseeing all aspects of the daily running of the home. It is a varied and very busy role, but I am dedicated and passionate about working in the sector.

Hi, I’m Joe and I have been at Well Springs for nearly two decades as a member of the nursing team.


As Clinical Lead my role is to support the Registered Manager and the nursing team to achieve the best outcomes for the residents who live in our home.


I am a big believer that a nurse is not what you do but who you are. I am a nurse and love caring for those who are in need. My desire to deliver great care is a big reason I have enjoyed being part of the Well Springs family for so long, alongside many other staff who have worked here just as long as I have.
