Excellent standard of care and support, residents treated with dignity and compassion, staff very well led, clean and tidy, helpful staff, mum seems very happy always clean and well dressed. The staff are always engaging with each individual resident. The home is bright and well led by the support staff

My wife suffers from Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. After looking after her for the past two years and due to her worsening condition I found myself unable to cope. My family and I looked at several local care homes before settling on Hartshead Manor.


At first, she was not happy to be placed in

a care home but the staff have been really good with her. I think that she is settling in at last although her worsening condition makes it difficult to assess. I find them extremely kind, considerate and patient. I am kept fully in touch with any problems which may arise together with any updates in her condition. Although I really miss her, I am certain that she is in the best place for us both.

My mother was at Hartshead Manor for respite care for a week. The manager and staff all worked very hard to ensure my mother had a good experience in that week's respite care. My mother returned home and shortly realised she could not manage at home and returned to Hartshead Manor in May 2022. Mother
chose her room and wanted a bigger room with a view over the gardens. These needs were met.
My mother has now settled in (February 2023) and she knows the names of the carers who look after her.
The food is hot and fresh at mealtimes and my mother is given ample food throughout the day with hot drinks and snacks. The manager and staff worked very hard to give my mother her favourite foods and also took note of her allergies.
The nurses are kind and helpful and medication is given in a controlled manner but not excessive if not required.
I am very happy with all of the staff at Hartshead Manor and the management for their care of my mother.

I have experience of care homes, both in a professional and personal capacity. I visited a relative who is a resident at Hartshead Manor. We were warmly greeted by staff, who showed us to my relative's room. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. My relative has settled at Hartshead Manor, largely
due to the efforts of the staff, who have listened to her likes and dislikes and acted accordingly. She says the food is excellent and frequent! There are daily activities and outings. Well done, Hartshead Manor.

I've experienced a total of 3 care homes now for my mother and Hartshead far exceeds the others. Every member of staff is kind and considerate of residents' and visitor needs. Everyone listens and takes the time to help/answer questions. My mother is able to make her own decisions about her daily
life here, patient led and I sleep far better knowing she is being taken care of at Hartshead.

Hartshead Manor has cared for Mum for the last five months after discharge from hospital due to a stroke, which has accelerated her vascular dementia significantly. All staff are very friendly and approachable, and care for Mum has been provided with dignity whilst maintaining her engagement through
various activities.

My fabulous Dad was admitted to Hartshead Manor in July 2020. During his stay, the home have had to cope with the immense and changing challenges of Covid and this limited visiting opportunities for rational reasons. Whenever I called the home whoever answered knew my Dad, knew how he was and talked
to me with clarity, care and compassion. When I could visit my Dad’s interaction with staff was amazing to witness, care is delivered with affection. Although he had dementia he retained his quick wit and banter which the care staff got to know and reciprocated.
I have 30 years of professional experience involving care homes. I’ve also experienced and witnessed the delivery of care to both my parents since 2018 spanning six care homes in total. Four of these were homes I considered to be the best available in our locality. Hartshead Manor, whilst not perfect (don’t be wholly guided by CQC ratings), is the best. Most of the staff are simply outstanding and set the standard the home strive for.

Mum has been in Hartshead Manor now for over two years. She, and we, were very worried about compromising her independence, but it was necessary. The staff have shown remarkable sensitivity and care from the very beginning. she settled in very quickly and has been very happy.
She had covid during the
first outbreak and the staff nursed her through. She recovered fully. Her mental capacity is now deteriorating, but the staff continue to give her every attention. They are wonderful.
I would never have believed she could settle so well.
For a variety of reasons I have not been able to visit for some time, but the staff have kept in touch and enabled me to keep in touch with her so that her needs are met.
It's a wonderful relief to be able to have the confidence that she is being cared for so well.

My father is currently residing in Hartshead Manor and I can’t fault the manager and her whole team for the care and dedication they give to both my father and us, his family, we feel very reassured that he is being well cared for and all his needs are met.
Every staff member we come into contact
with are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hartshead Manor and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all they do.

Mum has been a resident at Hartshead for over a year, we were very happy with the home and staff. Unfortunately over the last 6 months, standards have changed and the monthly rate has increased? Staff and chefs change regularly and all daily activities have ceased. Very difficult to get through on the

This home is so friendly and welcoming the staff are amazing and do an excellent job.
It's been so hard through lockdown and Coronavirus, they always keep you updated on their wellbeing.
My mum has really settled well in the home she loves the staff and the care she receives.
Hopefully, she'll be
back home soon but is seriously ill. She was so against being in a care home but has decided when the time comes she would return to the care home for more nursing care because of the care of the staff and how she feels at home there.
The staff always try and accommodate any requests you have like visiting times. She is doing really well at the moment and that's due to the high care she is getting I can't thank them enough for everything they are doing for her.

Hartshead Manor had been recommended by previous residents. Clearly, we have not been allowed into the home because of covid but the staff seem friendly and helpful. Mum seems to be very happy there.

The care home has made every effort to enable contact with my wife throughout the current difficulties. Recently they have constructed a small enclosed area with an intercom so that we can communicate and see each other through a window. The staff have been very helpful and now my wife well, which is
very reassuring. She has settled well and shows no sign of distress.
