My grandad has been at Southfield Court Care Home for just over a year now, and my experiences with the team have been overwhelmingly positive from day one.

Every member of staff is professional and attentive, often going above and beyond in their care for both the residents and their families (alongside

providing a consistent conveyor belt of tea and biscuits!).

I've never once felt that the team at Southfield weren't giving 100% in their duty of care to my grandad. Their love and affection for him has markedly improved not only his quality of life, but the lives of my entire family.

I'd like to give my utmost thanks to the entire team. You'll always have a place in my heart for the tremendous work that you do.

From the moment dad was transferred from hospital to Southfield Court, we as a family knew we had made the right decision. From the first phone call to say he had arrived and was sat drinking tea and eating biscuits, we felt reassured that this was going to be a place we would now call his new home.
Eleven months in and that reassurance has never faltered. From cinema trips, to singers, and wonderful birthday celebrations arranged for the residents, this truly is a place where the staff take pride in what they do. Not only do the staff treat dad with a smile and the dignity that he deserves but they are also helping us as a family navigate through the latter stages of his dementia and we know that he will be treat with care and love and that all the staff at Southfield Court have now become a much loved addition to our family.

This is my second review as I felt I need to reinforce my positivity about the home following recent negative press. My last review was very positive but this one will be even more so. Last time, my only rating that was not exceptional was the activities section as this was less proactive than it might
have been and focused on a particular section of the care community. However, the appointment of a new activities coordinator has transformed the provision and this will be reflected in the rating. The home is well managed, caring and compassionate and I would have no issues recommending it to other families. Leaving a loved one in a care home is traumatic but a positive experience with kind and knowledgeable staff is reassuring.
Reply from Willow Fowler, Support Team Member at Southfield Court Care HomeThank you for such a wonderful review. We are over the moon that you felt the need to reinstate your positive words, and that we have improved upon our activities programme to bring more experiences to residents. Thank you for acknowledging our efforts to create an even better community and care regime. We are privileged to be trusted with the care of your loved one, and your kind words are very appreciated.

We have been coming to this care home now for five months and we have no complaints whatsoever. The entire staff are friendly and helpful and always glad to see us. Whenever we need something for my mum, they are there straight away. It's like a second home. Carry on the good work. Excellent.

We have no concerns or worries with Mum residing at Southfield Court. The staff are compassionate and genuinely care.
I would recommend this home to anyone. Mum is as happy as she can be in her circumstances thanks to the excellent professional care she receives at Southfield Court. I was fortunate
to have Christmas dinner with them, the meal was fabulous.

Southfield Court Care Home is a warm and welcoming place where residents are treated with respect and dignity. The staff are dedicated to providing high-quality care, and they go above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and at home.
The home is clean and well-maintained, and the facilities
are excellent. There is a wide range of activities available to residents, and they are encouraged to participate in whatever interests them.
I have been very impressed with the care that my mother has received at Southfield Court. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they have made a real difference in her life. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will be well cared for.

My mother was a resident at Southfield Court from June 24 until she passed away this month(November 24).
We had, had a terrible experience at a previous care home however, we moved her to Southfield and my mother became more settled and we saw her smile again.
The care home staff are fantastic and
all are dedicated to their roles. They are so caring and always make you feel welcome and part of the family of Southfield Court.
The home is relaxed and we felt my mother was safe and able to enjoy the last months of her life in peace due to the care she received until she passed away.
The staff were so caring and supportive when the end came and we cannot thank them all enough. We will never forget their kindness and empathy during my mother's time there.
Thank you to all at Southfield Court we will never forget you for all your care and peace of mind that you gave to my mother and ourselves as a family. We will miss you all!

Having viewed a number of care homes as potential placements for my father-in-law, we felt quite deflated and were waiting for one to stand out as better than the rest, this was Southfield Court. Immediately from the outside, right the way through the environment had everything that you needed and nothing
you didn't, it was clean, pleasant, warm and welcoming.
We were greeted by one of the HCA's who was expecting us, her tour was thorough, she gave us all the information that we needed doing so in a clear and concise manner which felt to reflect a well-informed, friendly but professional staff team. We were encouraged to bring in items that personalised the room and on admission were greeted warmly by staff members on shift. My father-in-law settled quickly and was well cared for. The open and honest ethos of the home enabled me to raise easily a couple of concerns and was thanked for bringing these to the the nurse in charge's attention.

Southfield Court has been amazing at settling my mum in after an awful hospital stay. They are restoring my faith in health care. Mum is well cared for, and so far, her needs are all being met. I feel I can talk to the staff, and they listen to me.

I have found the staff, from management down to cleaners, to be very helpful and attentive. My wife came into Southfield Court requiring end-of-life care and nursing. She has received care to a high standard, sympathetic and professional. I have also been kept informed and given consideration at all
times. The staff have been excellent in helping me through a very difficult period.

I want to say thank you to all at Southfield Court for looking after Mum so well. On my visits, she always looks clean, comfortable and well cared for. I feed her on my visits, and the food always smells and looks good and tasty. Mum eats it all up and says it was nice. Mum can be a bit difficult at
times, but the staff are very caring and handled her very well.

My wife was only there 25-days before she died on Xmas day. In my short experience, I was very impressed with the people side of the home. The staff and management were caring and considerate and treated the residents as individuals. They were prepared to listen to them. My wife was regarded as "end
of life" for her last week, and I was given unlimited access to her, which I appreciated.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.571)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.571) out of 10 for Southfield Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.971 for Southfield Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (99 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 102 Ratings = 4.971
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Southfield Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
