I have found the regular staff very dedicated, and have cared for me with total dedication and have cared for me with respect and have helped me through my recent illness. I would definitely recommend this care home.

My wife was only there 25-days before she died on Xmas day. In my short experience, I was very impressed with the people side of the home. The staff and management were caring and considerate and treated the residents as individuals. They were prepared to listen to them. My wife was regarded as "end of life" for her last week, and I was given unlimited access to her, which I appreciated.

I would not recommend this home, for a person who needs all care and is also palliative care. Too many issues to mention which have been addressed several times but have continued. You may as well be talking to fog.

My aunt moved into Southfield Court for a period of respite following a stay in hospital. She has now returned home feeling so much better, thanks to the wonderful care she received at Southfield Court. Everyone at the home was amazing at getting her back to good health, from admission, through to her isolation period, and even a follow-up call from the home manager to ensure my auntie had settled in at home ok. I can’t thank the staff enough!

My father was only a resident for a short time, but we can see he is well cared for by the fantastic team. My family cannot thank them enough for the hard work and dedication they have shown to myself and my family. They made us feel at home when we visited. They will forever be a part of our family also.

We moved Mum from a different care home due to some concerns. It was the best decision, only regret was not done sooner. The transition was smooth, and the service was fantastic. Mum settled amazing and seems so much happier. The staff are amazing, friendly and always available. The activities Mum has really embraced and loves her dancing and flower arranging. Information and communication are very good, and we love to see Mum in person, but also on Facebook doing her dancing and looking so happy. The rooms are basic, but all she needs is there, and they are spotless. Mum dementia is quite severe now, but we are happy she is in the right place.

Overall Experience

My aunt was in a hospice and it was suggested that as they had stabilised her - she was at end of life care - that she be moved to a care home and this is one of the ones they gave us information on. We were extremely concerned about this and we had every right to be. The whole experience of palliative care at this place was abysmal and non-existent. The place smelled of urine, the rooms were dirty and dismal. How do they have a good CQC rating? She was left alone being sick, was reprimanded by staff when she asked for something to help her sleep - she was given a tray of food and drink and left - she had no strength to feed herself, the food they offered to a dignified lady with a colon tumour and who was on purified food was a piece of pork pie and a banana. Other residents were walking into her room, helping themselves to her belongings. She went downhill and we moved her home at her request - where she sadly passed away - what a state she was in by the time we got her home!

I recently asked my father if he was happy there, and he said he was. The staff have clearly built a positive relationship with my father, and he is fond of many of the staff. I noted respect and dignity towards other residents as we walked past them. It seemed like needs were met. My father looked well cared for and seemed relaxed at Southfield.

Southfield Court has provided my dad with excellent care. They have shown us that my dad is looked after with true care and compassion, and have been excellent with keeping us up to date with everything that goes on around his health and care. Staff have been lovely with us, and we look forward to seeing and speaking with them during our visits. The room is clean and tidy, and other residents look happy and settled.

I have been very impressed with the care given at Southfield Court. Staff have really supported my Dad and provided the care that he requires. There are also numerous entertainment activities to keep them occupied. I feel that the carers are really interested in and do their best to properly care for my Dad, so much that he has shown improvement whilst being a resident here. Thank you all so much!

My mum has Alzheimer's and she has been in care for over 10-years. She received fantastic care from Southfield court during this time. I know during this difficult time that she is happy and cared for, and I have had regular contact phone with staff. Nothing has been too much trouble, and for that, I am so grateful, its means that it's one less thing to worry about. Vaccination has now taken place for Mum and me, so hopefully, we can very soon get back to normal. Thank you to all staff for making Mums life bearable for the last year.

Staff really do care and are aware of residents' needs and requirements, therefore providing a relaxed pleasant environment. The menu provided is varied and provided to a high standard. At times it is based on one of the journeys that the home undertakes as one of the activities for the residents.

My mum moved in just before the Covid lockdown. The care she had received has been fantastic, enabling her to settle in very quickly. The staff have taken the time to really get to know mum. They keep us regularly updated via the social media group and are so friendly and helpful whenever I call. Knowing that she is so well looked after, gives peace of mind to me and my family. Thank you!

Over the past three weeks, through such difficult times of the Coronavirus outbreak internationally, I cannot fault Southfield and its carers. I am not able to see my dad, which is heartbreaking but seeing him through a window on my daily walk, I know he is being well looked after and kept clean. The carers and all who work there and that I have met genuinely care for dad and make sure his needs are met. I’d love to mention names to give thanks and praise. I certainly will be clapping for you all. Thank you and keep going.
