I visited my brother-in-law for many years at Aberford Hall Care Home. I always saw excellent care, clean rooms and a wonderful caring staff. I noted the first-class preparation of food. My brother-in-law always loved the meals. When I visited he would ask for tea and sandwiches - and always got them. I have to mention the remarkable manager. Absolutely dedicated to her job. Clever, understanding, willing to listen and always forthright. A superb organiser and manager. My brother-in-law was the most challenging of residents but she helped and did everything to help him. Again, a brilliant manager. Many thanks to her.
Really good staff great entertainment this afternoon was brilliant.
It's such a relief to know she is safe and in good hands. All the staff are just wonderful. Not enough staff though. They work so hard, wish we had more so more time could be spent giving human 1-1 contact. They have so much to do.
Thank you for your lovely review of our home. The homes' staffing levels are reviewed monthly in line with our resident dependency needs. We have two well-being coordinators who support with activities including one-to-one engagement.
My father was languishing for over a month in the hospital waiting to be discharged to suitable accommodation. We were delighted that Aberford Hall Care Home had a place for him. Dad is settled and the staff are exceptionally good. I see him every day and there is always a member of staff looking in on him and checking he's ok. That gives me such peace of mind. Big thanks to all the staff.
In the short time our Sister was resident at Aberford Hall, I experienced kindness and consideration from the staff and management. The home was always clean and staff always helpful. We would recommend the home and thank all included for creating such a good atmosphere. Grateful thanks.
He always seems to be in bed though and I feel it would be nice to coax him out of it now and again.
But overall, he seems happy, not stressed from making the transaction from home and I feel that is mainly down to the care he is receiving from yourselves.
Well done. Keep it up!
Thank you for taking the time to complete a care home review regarding Aberford Hall. I am pleased to hear that you feel your father is given the love and care that he deserves. In response to your comment, we will encourage your father to arise from his bed each day for a couple of hours.
My mum has just come to Aberford Hall Nursing Home after having a bad fall at her home and being hospitalised for three months. We made the decision for her to go to a home, since being here she seems happy and comfortable.
I transferred my mother to Aberford Hall after a dreadful experience elsewhere, the ambulance crew prepared me in case my mother died in transit, she was in such poor condition. After a little over a month I can confidently say she has transformed into a lively, happy person, has gained weight and has started to an interest in her appearance and activities. I truly believe the team at Aberford Hall have saved her life, I cannot thank them enough and I now look forward to many more happy times together. Thanks for all the work you do and care you take, its amazing.
My husband became a resident in May 2022. The day he moved in he was warmly welcomed by everyone. He loved to chat with the staff. He was treated with great respect and dignity, As a family, we were very happy with the care my husband received.
My father has been in Aberford Hall since May 2022. I can honestly say that myself and family feel that this was a superb care home. The staff are always willing and polite, nothing is any problem. Good atmosphere, small and friendly home. Towards the end of my father's life, the staff were extremely kind and caring, not only to my father but to any of the family members who were visiting at a very difficult time. I can't praise the home and its staff highly enough. Would highly recommend Aberford Hall.
My father has recently been in Aberford Hall Care Home. All staff were so conscientious and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They carry out a very professional service at all times and at the same time having the individual touch. Everything was excellent including all care, food, drink and very great cleaning standards. I would highly recommend to anyone. They were kind to all the family too.
My mum has now been in Aberford Hall for over 4 years. Throughout that time her care has been excellent and she has been very happy. The staff are very friendly and have gone out of their way to engage with her. Her room is comfortable and kept clean. I am now able to visit her in her room but when this has not been possible they have facilitated skype calls. Overall I could not have wished for a better care home.
I would like to thank all the staff for the wonderful and loving care they have given my mum during respite. My mum has stayed there for 2 weeks respite and has been well looked after by all staff. My mum suffers from Alzheimer's. The staff and manager are caring people and make you feel welcome, they can't do enough for the person staying with them and the families. Thank you all so much.
During her time at Aberford Hall, my mother's needs were well administered. She had been in and out of hospital during her stay; the home were very supportive to me and my mother during these occasions and management and staff have been more than ever the last 18 months of my mother's stay.
During the sad times of Covid-19 and unable to see my father, the staff were always there to answer the family calls, and always without fail, let us speak to my father. Their Covid procedures have been excellent, making sure everyone is safe and well and have done a great job. The staff are lovely and hardworking. I genuinely cannot praise the carers enough. The home is well run and very clean. I can honestly say my dad is very well looked after, and it's such a great comfort to the family. I would like to thank all the working staff and definitely recommend the home.
My mum passed away at the end of March. Everyone at the home showed my mum and all her family great respect and kindness. The staff always have a smile on their faces and nothing was too much effort for Mum or her family. I was able to spend a lot of time with Mum over the last few days which I was so grateful for. Everyone at Aberford Hall Care Home treated Mum and us as though they had lost a family member too. Words can not describe the affection and gratefulness I have for them all. There could not have been a better place for Mum.
My mum has been a resident at Aberford Hall for six years and in that time her health and wellbeing has improved immensely, this is due to the care and dedication of all the staff. In the past year not having been able to visit mum I have always known she is being well cared for via staff communication, they have been excellent at keeping me up to date. I have no hesitation in recommending Aberford Hall to future residents.
The Aberford Hall team are always very professional and friendly. They show great care for the residents whilst having to respond to a variety of difficult and complex needs. The Team certainly make every effort to provide a comfortable and secure home.
Coronavirus has caused great anxiety for all of us. We have been kept up to date regarding the current situation in the home by both telephone and letter. We could not have asked for more. It has been lovely to have the opportunity to Skype Mum and see how well she looks.
My family has been meeting 'across the world' using video conferencing and, when I realised that the well-being coordinator could facilitate my mother joining us, on a weekly basis, I was pleased to give it a try.
This has been successful and now my mother looks forward to meeting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on a weekly basis. We all benefit from the joy on my mother's face as she watches the little ones playing.
Thank you to those involved in making Mum's confinement a little bit easier for her to bear.
