Overall Experience
My husband has been in Aberford Hall since November 2018. He was very poorly at first but with the care and attention he receives on a day to day basis, his health has greatly improved.
I used to visit on a daily basis but since the COVID crisis, of course this hasn't been possible. At first we kept in touch by the home's mobile phone and then with the help of the manager, we had the pleasure of seeing each other using Skype on her IPad. Since then, the IT co-ordinator has been great in facilitating regular sessions using Zoom. This has allowed both our children, in London and in Leeds to see their Dad virtually on a weekly basis, this has made a tremendous difference to us as a family. It has also allowed my husband to see our two granddaughters. Without help, my husband's incapacity would have made this quite impossible. During these difficult months he has been able to enjoy seeing them grow and change.

A big thank you to the staff at Aberford for all you do.

I can honestly say that myself and family feel very lucky to have got our mum into this superb care home. Every single one of the Carers are so helpful and nice to our mum and can’t do enough for mum or us. In the middle of the Coronavirus lockdown and all the staff are handling the situation very well and anytime we call they can’t do enough for us. If you are offered a place here for your loved ones snatched their hand off because they really can’t go into a nicer, better run home.

Mum seems very happy and content. The staff are always willing and pleasant. Nothing is any problem to them. Plenty of activities and very well fed. I have no complaints about Aberford Hall knowing that mum is well cared for.

My mother was a resident from April to October 2019 when she passed away. During this time myself and the whole family were impressed with the care and attention that my mother received during her stay.
Towards the end of my mother's life the staff were extremely kind and caring, not only to my mother but to any of the family members who were visiting at a very difficult time.

I can't praise the home and its staff highly enough and would not hesitate to recommend Aberford Hall to anyone looking for a rest home.

Care seems to be very good and they do spend lots of time and effort trying to entertain the residents. Most residents seem to be contented and quite happy.

The regular staff are fantastic and many have been here a long time. This is ideal as residents and staff know each other well. The home is very well managed and any potential problems are dealt with promptly. The rooms are fairly small and the staff must find it very challenging when they have to use hoists and shuffle beds, wheelchairs etc, in a small space. The rooms need to be better ventilated in the summer - more fans. Staff must have been very hot this last summer and too hot in bedrooms.

Aberford Hall is a friendly, excellent home for elderly people. The staff are caring, hard working and will go to the next level for all the residents. Held a wonderful party for a lady that was 100 years old. I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Aberford Hall.

I am so glad my father-in-law has moved to Aberford Hall. Before he came he was spending 95% of every month in hospital, since being at Aberford Hal he has only had 1 or 2 trips which is such a big change. We are no longer waiting for the call to say he is back in hospital. The staff are great and when he did fall (his fault) when the buzzer was pressed I have never seen so many people appear and I was so impressed. We can relax as we know he is safe.
