Since my Nana has left the St James's University Hospital Beckett Wing and come to Aberford Hall Care Home she has become more happy and cheerful and is more active. It is the best place she has been to.

Really happy with all the care my dad is getting at Aberford Hall, much more importantly my dad has settled in great and has made friends. All the facilities are excellent and he enjoys the food. Finally, all the staff are friendly, helpful and nothing seems too much.

The regular staff are fantastic and many have been here a long time. This is ideal as residents and staff know each other well. The home is very well managed and any potential problems are dealt with promptly. The rooms are fairly small and the staff must find it very challenging when they have to use
hoists and shuffle beds, wheelchairs etc, in a small space. The rooms need to be better ventilated in the summer - more fans. Staff must have been very hot this last summer and too hot in bedrooms.

Aberford Hall is a friendly, excellent home for elderly people. The staff are caring, hard working and will go to the next level for all the residents. Held a wonderful party for a lady that was 100 years old. I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Aberford Hall.

I am so glad my father-in-law has moved to Aberford Hall. Before he came he was spending 95% of every month in hospital, since being at Aberford Hal he has only had 1 or 2 trips which is such a big change. We are no longer waiting for the call to say he is back in hospital. The staff are great and when
he did fall (his fault) when the buzzer was pressed I have never seen so many people appear and I was so impressed. We can relax as we know he is safe.

It is the most amazing place. The staff are so caring nothing is too much trouble. The home is clean and the whole of the patients are all happy. When we came to look at Aberford Hall we knew that this was the home for our mother-in-law and can say I would come here if I needed care.

From the first time I met with management, I had a very good feeling about having my mum reside here. All the staff are very friendly and helpful towards my mum. The whole building is clean and mum is very happy with the food and facilities. If she's happy, so am I.

They made my mum extremely comfortable when she came here from the hospital. She was very settled and relaxed after a stressful move from the hospital. The staff are extremely supportive, very caring and understanding, couldn't ask for more.

My brother is getting the best of care here at Aberford Hall. All the staff are excellent with him, just like one of their own family. I have seen this for myself, it keeps him happy. I must say our brother would not be here today if it was not for the care he gets.
He gets on very well with everybody
from the top down. May God bless them. It makes me feel good to know he's happy.

Unfortunately Mum was only a resident at Aberford Hall for a short time before she passed away. We found all the staff to be friendly, caring and welcoming and were very quickly made to feel part of the family. Mum couldn't have had better care in her final days.

Mother-in-law was cared for during 6 months period of palliation following diagnosis with a brain tumour. The staff were polite, supportive and attentive. They supported the three brothers with effective end of life care planning.


She really enjoyed the activities and the food and they provided a

really lovely last Christmas. She was confused and a bit difficult at times and they showed understanding and empathy.

Life in a care home can be a strange business in my opinion, especially if the person concerned is somewhat incapacitated and not always feeling on top form. After a stroke, my mother's prospects did not look good, but her determination kept her going and we are pleased that we found Aberford Hall
Care Home to meet her needs. She had a comfortable, homely, room with a relaxing view of the garden. When she was well enough, she was taken to the lounge and we often joined her for a cup of tea, or to see an entertainer, or take part in floor dominoes and 'keep fit'. On her 'off days', her room was a calm place, and with the door open, there was comforting busyness going on in the building.
We always found Aberford Hall Care Home to be a welcoming, calm, safe place, with friendly staff working tirelessly to look after the people living there.

Aberford Hall is always clean and tidy.
The staff are friendly and always willing to help when I have a request or a problem to be dealt with.
My aunt requires the support of a qualified nurse and I have never needed to question if she is well looked after.
She has dementia and is often unaware of
what is going on around her but appears happy and contented.

My Dad has been cared for over three and a half years in this care home. The service provided by the nurses and carers is the best I know. My Dad is cared for 24/7 and the staff is his 2nd family. If there are any problems, the Management deal with it immediately and efficiently. I have nothing bad
to say about Aberford Hall and I will recommend it to anyone.

As a Health Care Professional, Michelle has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One for many years, Michelle closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Michelle remarked:


“I like to make a difference to my Resident's lives and ensure they are getting the best care they possibly can.”


Michelle has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being becoming Home Manager at Aberford Hall having worked at the home for 18 years progressing through various roles.


Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family.
