My mum is well looked after in Halcyon Court. The staff know her and her needs, and she responds well to them. My mum often chooses to stay in her room, but I am aware that there are a number of activities available for residents. Staff communicate quickly with us over any issues, and when we have flagged anything they have been quick to respond. I would describe it as a friendly and caring environment.

Our Mum sadly had to go into Full Time Care very recently after a fall at home. We picked Halcyon Court after a tour of several as it was clear that the residents there were very happy and the staff cared. Mum needs specialist Dementia care and she is getting that at Halcyon Court. They have taken the time to attend to her personal care needs, which is no mean feat, and she is very well looked after. They also took the time to work with us and to design a care plan for Mum. It is lovely to visit her and see her up in the day room taking part in activities rather than being on her own in her room.
Her room is modern and always clean and the tea trolley is never far away.

We no longer worry about Mum as we did when she was living on her own at home, we know she is safe and being looked after. I can't thank the staff enough for taking the time to care for her as well as they are. Thank you.

My uncle was moved to Halcyon Court from hospital. Due to the lack of communication to the care home from the hospital lead to quite a rocky start, but the care home went above and beyond to help us settle my uncle in.
The manager was so understanding and caring. She really put our family at ease and made everything as easy as possible.

The staff are really lovely and had made my uncle feel very cared for.

We had to get urgent care for my 93-year-old mother, who has mobility issues. Halcyon Court responded very quickly to what was a family emergency, they made us very welcome, and although my mother was only there for three nights, she said the staff were wonderful. They were kind and friendly and treated her with dignity.

My work colleague required convalescent care for twelve days due to a broken hip that had been operated on at hospital. I had rung eight other care homes before my friend was accepted. Extremely grateful.

All staff are excellent and friendly. Would recommend. Food was an issue because there was minimal Halal options. However, the kitchen did their best. Many thanks for looking after my friend, grateful.

Staff are kind, caring and interested in the state and welfare of residents. Are safety-aware and make an effort to keep residents' rooms clean. I think that staff face many challenges amongst which is caring for many people who are declining but despite this they provide good support to residents.

My Mum went to Halcyon Court after a stay in hospital. The staff at the home were accommodating and friendly, she really enjoyed her stay there. We were not sure if Mum would need to stay in care after her fall but the staff at this home helped her to get back on her feet and she has managed to go home. Thank you, everyone.

We as a family cannot fault the care our mum received at Halcyon court.
The staff are absolutely wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The pandemic caused a lot of disruption but we have always been informed promptly if Mum had the doctor or was ill.
Her last 4 weeks were particularly upsetting for us as a family and for the staff. Mum had decided she wanted to spend her final days there... she was treated with dignity at every point.
We were also looked after as we sat with Mum, tea, biscuits and breakfast on occasions.
So pleased Mum was there.

Thank you, everyone.

My aunt became a resident of Halcyon Court during the pandemic therefore a pre-visit to the home prior to residency was not possible. However, I must say that the care that my aunt has received has been very good. Other professional organisations have formed a large part of the care provided due to specialist needs but apart from this the carers at Halcyon have been very kind and caring and have always provided a good caring service at all times.
I have not been inside the home yet but I have no qualms about the environment as my aunt is very happy and seems to get on well with everyone. Whenever I speak to my aunt she always says she's very happy where she is and the staff are lovely.
I am looking forward to the home returning to normal and the activities that I understand to have taken place before the pandemic soon return.

Well done everyone! Thank you.

This is the first care home my mother has been in and I have found it to be excellent in the care she has received. The manager and her team have been understanding of Mum's needs at this difficult time, getting her vaccinations sorted and caring for her.
The team leaders and carers have been great. Also, finances etc are sorted out in a very professional manner.
All the team have been excellent with me. Also, the receptionist always ensures I speak to Mum when I ring her.

Mum seems happy and always looks very clean and tidy. She has improved over time. Please remember I can't get into the home only the day room so don't really know the geography. I can see Mum's room from outside as she is on ground level. Looks very clean and tidy.

My mother has been a resident at Halcyon Court for over 3 years now and it has been a wholly positive experience.
The staff there are excellent and the home has a very low turnover - Mum has had the same keyworker throughout her stay. Communication is really good and I'm always notified immediately of any problems that may occur. Reviews happen frequently and I'm always invited to contribute to them.
Accommodation and lounge areas are to a really high standard, and mum loves the food. The menu always has 2 or 3 choices for each meal, and there are snacks and drinks on hand throughout the day.
Prior to Covid, there were always lots of activities within the home, and various entertainers would go in throughout the week. It would be nice for more opportunities for external activities for residents post-Covid - trips to the cinema for example.

Throughout her time at Halcyon, mum has done really well and enjoyed an excellent standard of care.

Mum has just become a resident and due to covid, we are unable to do the tour of the home before she moved in.
My first impressions were that it was well managed and totally organised. Well, I was right.
Everyone I have spoken to have been most helpful and polite, just what you want at this time of change for your mum.
Mum loves the place, she quickly made new friends which was an added bonus. She raves about the meals and everything else that happens there.

A big thank you to the Manager and the rest of the team, keep up the great work.

A very pleasant man rung me to ask what I thought of the home and if I had any grievances? I told him about the items that go missing! But nothing has altered. Also, I have been waiting now for nearly two years for another room, without the toilet but not been able to have one. But I am glad he is in Halcyon Court because the carers are fantastic.

I am very pleased with the staff and care that my husband receives from Halcyon Court. He is from a Caribbean background and the staff have been keen to learn about his needs and cultural needs too.

On 26th December 2019, my husband went missing from the home, the staff on duty were very professional and caring and followed all procedures and my husband was returned safe and sound. The staff reviewed the incident and took action.
