Overall Experience
Mum moved into Harrogate Lodge from another home 6 months ago. The manager collected Mum herself so the move was completely stress-free, which made everything much easier for us as a family.
The staff/carers are wonderful, very kind and understanding of all Alzheimer's symptoms and elderly needs.
The nurses and doctors are professional at all times but still remain friendly if any questions are raised. Problems are dealt with promptly and our family are kept in the loop at all times.
The food cooked on the premises is lovely and enjoyed by Mum at every meal.
The home is spotlessly clean and organised well.
Plenty of rooms to have private visits.
I would struggle to find anything negative to report overall.
Maybe the main resident's lounge could be bigger but this is certainly not an issue for Mum as it has a lovely homely vibe.
There are plenty of activities during the day and the manager seems to want to engage.

Overall I would highly recommend this nursing home to families.

My mum has been in Harrogate Lodge Care Home for a few weeks and loves the place.
The staff are so caring and have made what has been a hard change for my mum easier. Every day when we visit there is always someone there with a big smile to let us in.

Mum says the food is lovely and we have noticed that she is eating more than she has been in years. She will miss you all.

My grandma was admitted after a fall which resulted in a broken pelvis. The care she received was amazing. All the staff including the nurses, carers, physio's OTS, and cleaners treat her with care. When issues are raided they were dealt with. At 97 this was her first experience of care and she couldn't have been in a nicer care home

Overall Experience

My mother-in-law lived at Harrogate Lodge for the last two years, where she was very well cared for by the lovely kind team of nurses and carers. The home is much improved in recent months, since the new manager took over and the communal areas are much more welcoming and pleasant. Although my mum in laws room was a bit basic, it was always very clean and you do realise that is not about 'carpets and curtains', when a loved one needs nursing care. It's about the care they receive and we always felt reassured that she was being given the best care. We were always kept informed by the care team and management, who we cannot thank enough for supporting and caring for my mum-in-law, at such a difficult time in her life.

My Mother was transferred here from an emergency placement at another nursing home. The difference was stark. The staff at Harrogate Lodge were genuinely interested in giving my Mother a personal service and making her stay as fulfilling as they could. The staff are invariably caring and are a credit to the home and their profession.

My mum has been in Harrogate Lodge for the last 9 weeks. She was in an Intermediate Care bed but fortunately, she now has a permanent nursing bed there. The quality of care she has received during this time has been excellent. All the staff are very caring and professional in their duties, no matter what those duties entail. They make sure Mum is comfortable and as happy as she can be. The staff do all they possibly can to make her time with them as pleasant as possible.
The home is clean and feels very welcoming to visitors as well as their patients. It is well managed both clinically and administratively. I have been kept informed at all stages of Mum's care and the level of support I have received has been excellent. All staff show kindness and empathy to our situation which is a great help during a difficult period in our lives.

It helps so much to know that mum is in safe and caring hands. I cannot thank all the staff enough for what they do for their residents. Highly recommended.

Overall, the experience has been a positive one. In the circumstances I would say the staff have been very caring and helpful. Even when there was a mix up with outside assistance, the care home staff were really helpful and made sure my mum was given her room back until her outside care could be rearranged. there was always a member of staff available when we had any queries and I'm sure my mum will miss the staff when she returns home.

Can't thank the staff at the home enough for going out of their way to help us settle Mum into Harrogate Lodge. They have kept us informed on the process of admission from hospital and how Mum has settled into the home. We look forward to spending happy hours there with Mum in the future. It's a great comfort to know that Mum is in such caring hands and that the staff will take good care of her. We feel very confident that this is the right move for Mum and look forward to working with the staff to keep Mum comfortable and happy. Such a joy to see how caring everyone is not just for Mum but for us as relatives too and so refreshing after the last home Mum was in.

I attended a garden party that was advertised yesterday. It was a short but brilliantly organised event. The residents appeared to have a great time. Dances and stalls and the staff are very attentive to the needs and enjoyment of the residents. It would be great to see more community connections here. A great couple of hours, thank you.

Can’t praise the staff enough in this nursing home. Even in these difficult times, the residents are treated with a lot of respect and dignity.

I wish my Dad had been here sooner. The last home was shocking. I didn’t realise how bad until I saw how caring the staff are here!

My mum’s recently moved in, I was nervous about the change, but the activity coordinator showed me round and put me at ease. Listening to her passion and commitment made me feel confident in my choice on behalf of my mum. I now see the words at the initial meeting being put into action, activities are high on the agenda and making a real difference. My mum’s settling in and interaction between staff and residents has been positive and friendly.

It is truly heartwarming to see the outstanding level of care provided to the residents.
The staff work tirelessly to ensure that the residents' physical needs are met, but also their emotional needs with the many varied and exciting activities that are provided.
I feel very comfortable leaving my Mum knowing she’s in more capable hands than if I were looking after her. The staff really genuinely care about the residents and are absolute angels.

It would be lovely for them to get some recognition for the work they do. I don’t think they even realise what a positive impact they make on the residents and their families who can leave their loved ones with the knowledge they are safe and loved.

I wish to share the excellent service and attention to my dad from a particular staff member to give praise where it is due and cannot thank her enough.
My dad had an appointment at 11:45 at the hospital yesterday and I was assured wheelchair transport had been booked to take him from Harrogate Lodge to the hospital as my dad has lost all his mobility and requires a wheelchair now.
The appointment was important for the consultant to see my dad and to cut a long story short the transport, in the end, did not turn up.
I was waiting outside the hospital to meet my dad and I received a call from the staff member to say the transport had not been booked. The staff member knowing how important the appointment was for my dad actually told me not to worry and advised me she was going to walk and push my father in his wheelchair down from the home to the hospital so he would make it in time for his appointment.

Pure dedication from the staff member. I cannot fault any of the staff my dad is so content and happy thank you.

My mother came out of hospital for a short stay until she was ready to come home to end of life treatment at home as she wished for. All our family are really so pleased and thankful that Mum was placed here at Harrogate Lodge as she has received the very best of treatment whilst she was here. All staff we have met with are truly dedicated to their profession and should be proud of their service to their residents in their care. We love you and can't thank you enough.
