Overall Experience

The home is trying to do too much with limited availability. The day to day staff are great and work wonders with the very demanding conditions they have to deal with. There are no activities planned and there is no cafe/bar facilities. There is no internet access for the residents which during this difficult period has been a nightmare to make contact as you are depending on the one phone in the office being available and it being taken to each patient - not hygienically the best! Currently working with the home but would advise people to thoroughly check each home, make numerous visits and talk to other family members with people in them.

The care my grandmother is receiving at Harrogate Lodge is excellent. The staff and management are friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. We have not seen her in weeks but the staff have helped her to keep in touch with us all by FaceTime and we get regular updates from the staff as well. She is always happy when we call and keen to let us know how she is getting on and what she has done that day. She especially loves the food! We would love her to be back home with us but she really is in the best place.

My wife has been a resident for 7-years. Her care during that time has been superb. All the staff from management to cleaning ladies are caring and efficient, in fact, the staff are what makes this care home so good; very compassionate and caring.

I have no hesitation in praising the management and staff for the excellent care and attention given to my mother, especially in these difficult times. I know my mother is in safe hands and this gives us peace of mind, especially since we cannot visit.

My nana is at Harrogate Lodge after having a fall. She is improving daily with the help and support of the physio, care and nursing team.
It won’t be long until she comes home, and this is all down to the great care and treatment she has been getting.

As a family, we cannot thank all the staff enough for their kind care and consideration.

Review from Mary B (Friend of Resident) published on 25 February 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My friend has been at Harrogate Lodge for about a year, and I cannot say I have seen a better run home, and I do visit a few as some of my other friends are in there. Everyone is treated with kindness. The manager listens to me and deals with my concerns as quickly as she is able to. I know she is a busy lady, but she always has time to talk to me. There are two university students there, and they are doing activities nearly every day with my friend and everyone else who has dementia. This is good, as the activity lady, left last month but everyone is still having a lot of activities. It is a lovely place to live, and the carers are so lovely.

Review from Lynne L (Partner of Resident) published on 3 April 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My partner was in Harrogate Lodge for 4 weeks and I visited him 2 or 3 times a day. I was impressed by the fact that there was never any 'smell' to the care home and there were always staff around to ask if I had a question. The staff were always pleasant and helpful.
Once my partner had settled in, he was happy with his room. The cleaners came in every day to clean, and his needs were met reasonably promptly. The windows of the room could do with replacing as when there was a wind you could feel it coming through the window frame. However, the heating was on all the time which compensated.

I would have no hesitation in requesting he goes back to Harrogate Lodge should the need arise.

Review from Ann N (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 March 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The care and dignity shown to my mother during her stay have been exemplary by all staff. She is treated as one of the family and all staff know and call her by name. Communication is good however, the hygiene and cleanliness displayed by staff need improving. Management is aware of this problem and is taking steps to improve all staff's awareness of the problems experienced. Overall, I am happy with the intermediate care provided.
