My husband is non-verbal and bed bound. He needs assistance in all aspects of care: personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, etc. He is unable to use call buttons if needed. Whilst I was with my husband he suffered a medical episode needing immediate attention... I pressed the emergency call button and in less than a minute two nurses were at his bedside. The medical care my husband received was excellent... I have every confidence in the level of his care. Thank you to all staff who are both approachable + helpful.

Boxing Day lunch was fantastic the staff really made it really special for us all. Willow Bank care lucky to have fantastic staff like this. They layed a table for use and made it special .on a sad note I don't think there is enough carer's not agency because most of them don't want to be there.but employ more permanent carer's so they can help to take the load of the ones that is already at willow bank .it's sad to see them stressed willow bank is a fantastic care home and am glad mum is there just need more permanent carer's.

My father recently died and I wanted to say that all staff in the last 3 years were so kind to both my dad and the family. I cannot praise them highly enough and I would recommend Willow Bank to anyone making the hard decision to put their loved ones into care. The after care also was superb.

The home has been the most accommodating home I have visited. I have had nothing but a positive experience while visiting my granddad. Management have been extremely helpful. The overall quality of the place has also been excellent, and the service the residents we visit is above and beyond. The staff have been helpful and have been a positive influence on him since he moved in here.

From the moment we first came to look round we felt that staff were genuinely interested in meeting dad's needs. Once he moved into the staff have been nothing but kind and caring not just to dad but also all our family. The nurses and cares work extremely hard but despite them being so busy have always have time, patience and kindness. We have been very happy with the care dad has received at Willow Bank Nursing Home and would like to thank all the staff or their kindness and dedication.

My dad was here for 2 weeks respite, 4th-8th August. The initial home visit by the manager went ok. 5 times we had to keep reminding the staff to put denture adhesive in Dad's teeth. The toilet was in a bad state 6 times during Dad's stay. Poo left on wall for over 1x week, stale urine on the toilet floor. Very poor cleaning. Disappointed.

Although some initial hiccups with meds and room setup, all sorted and on task.
All staff pleasant and accommodating.

Thank you for your patience with my father and hope you can get him involved in more next time. He can be stubborn but needs to sometimes be led rather than just accept his refusal first time

My dad stayed for 2 weeks respite for the first time in Willow Bank. I was impressed with the pre-planning of this event with viewing around Willow Bank, a home assessment visit to ensure safe care with attention to detail. Also various emails were answered promptly from the office. During the stay every phone call recieved by nursing staff were polite, informative and followed protocol appropriately. The staff were approachable and caring. The lady who organises the activities tried to encourage dad to join the activities. Some were outside with the nice weather. They provided dad with a made up table to do his jigzaw. These small touches made it a caring and homely environment. Dad was cared for appropriately by the wonderful staff. The room was spacious and clean. The food offered was good variety for dads requirements/choices. Dad had a far better experience in this respite care home. As a family we are in no doubt dad will be back for his next respite stay at Willow Bank.

My dad had been a resident for four years and had received excellent care over this time. He loved the food! The staff were kind, caring and attentive. Sadly he died at Christmas. He was treated with such care, and we, his family, were treated with such sensitivity and kindness. We will always be grateful to the wonderful staff that work here.

My aged aunt was moved into Willow Bank in September this year, she was struggling to cope at home (living by herself at 93 years of age. As far as I can see she is receiving excellent care and attention. The staff really seem to enjoy their work and always have a smile. My main contact has been with a staff member in the office who projects the whole ethos of the home (happy, caring and finds time for everyone). I can't comment on value for money (she is being funded by the NHS).

Don't really do reviews but after spending every day for the last 3 weeks visiting both parents, I need to tell anyone who reads this that Willie Bank has exceeded my expectations. They are great, helpful empathetic and understanding to their needs. Food is fab, real good variety. Carers work extremely hard but still greet with a smile. One staff member in particular in the office is so helpful, it's very reassuring knowing you've got someone around who knows all the ins and outs. The nurses are professional and knowledgeable and understand complex needs. So happy I found this place. Compared to others it was a great find.

My mother-in-law was moved from the hospital to Willow Bank and diagnosed with terminal cancer (already diagnosed with dementia).

The room we chose was light and airy, she was given a pressure mattress as she had pressure sores from her hospital stay. She was very comfortable and happy during the short time she lived there. The care she was given was the best we could have asked for. Always someone to answer any questions we had about her care and her deteriorating health. We like that there was always a registered nurse available and that a GP visited weekly. We would highly recommend Willow Bank.

For over 12 months Willow Bank have looked after my brother who had suffered a massive stroke. Sadly he has now passed. The standard of care given to him was excellent. The staff are so friendly, especially the staff member on the front desk. I cannot thank the home and the staff enough for everything they have done. From a very grateful brother, thank you.

I was frustrated with the care of my father over the last couple of years that was not always good with the last management. However the new manager is professional, approachable, treats me and my resident father with respect, genuinely cares for people and since his appointment there has been a big improvement at Willow Bank in all areas and the home seems to be on the up. I would also like to thank the assistant manager and the staff that do their best. I hope other staff will jump on board.

The home has improved over the last six months. The current manager has worked hard to address issues of access to buzzers for the residents, staff training and general improvement in the daily running of the home. There has been an increase in the staff who arrange activities for the residents. There is now a much more positive atmosphere within the home. I am a retired social worker/manager, I am pleased with the improvements made. I visit my husband every day and am therefore aware of what happens within the home.
