My mum was a resident of Croft House from December 2011 to April 2015 after having a severe stroke. The care she received was very good. She enjoyed her meals and was always made comfortable. Her was room kept clean. She enjoyed the banter and one to ones with the activity coordinator and stuff. Mum related the staff as her extended family. Some days the nursery suite was very short staffed but the carers did their best. This is what persuaded me to do voluntary work after mum passed away in 2014. To give some care and kindness back. The staff make me very welcome. The home is kept clean and the carers do their best, even when staffing levels are low.

My sister was admitted on Monday 13th August 2018 with end of life care.
From the moment I walked in, the staff were amazing.
So compassionate and caring.
Nothing was too much trouble, and that went for every single one of them.
It was a very clean place with nice décor.
A lovely conservatory was at the back which I used for quiet contemplation now and then.

I even took a brochure to look at with a view to admitting my mum, when the time comes, who has Alzheimer's.

During the time my mum was a resident at Croft House Care Home we never had an occasion to show concern or complain of any aspect regarding the care and wellbeing of my mum. After our visits and on returning home it was safe in the knowledge that my mum was very well looked after. The patients of the staff was exemplary and never at any time did my mum make any comment to the contrary. I cannot see how you can improve on this.

After living at home with Parkinson's Disease for a very long time, my husband had to go into Croft House for nursing care. He found it difficult to settle in the home but that was not down to the carers who did everything they could despite being short staffed. He lived here for 16 months before he passed away in July. He had been admitted to hospital and was returned to the home for palliative care 3 weeks before he died. The care he received here was second to none and in those last 3 weeks, he was never alone. They did everything they could for both my husband, me and my children and made us feel part of a very close family. I can't thank them enough. They are a wonderful bunch of people.

Like the majority of care homes, Croft House is understaffed. However, the staff that they do have are in the majority, kind, considerate, compassionate and work extremely hard in what can be at times difficult circumstances. When my aunt was receiving end of life care, the attention she was paid was outstanding and I cannot thank the staff enough for their compassion and attention she received.

Reply from Paul Brookfield, Regional Director at Croft House Care Home
Joanne, thank you for your very kind comments regarding the care provided by staff to your Aunt during her stay at Croft House. It is greatly appreciated and I will ensure this is cascaded on to them for the fantastic work they do, caring for residents every day.

I am very happy with the way my mum is cared for at the above care home. The staff are very friendly and polite and care a lot about the residents under their care, therefore, I would recommend anyone putting their loved ones into the care of Croft House.

My mother in law has transferred from residential care to nursing care, after a short spell in hospital. It was with trepidation we looked for a vacancy but eventually found Croft House, after her previous home told us they could no longer meet her needs. The staff at Croft House are welcoming, highly caring and professional, it is very clean, no unpleasant smells and very cosy, home from home atmosphere. In a recent emergency, the staff kept us informed, took appropriate action and were a credit to their profession, no drama just good care. Thank you, Croft House!

The residents are all treated the same by all the staff since my mum came here and been diagnosed with dementia. I have been able to relax knowing how well she is being looked after. I cannot find fault with anything. When my mum was living on her own we were always waiting for a phone call to say she had fallen in the middle of the night!

If mum had still been in hospital she wouldn't be with us today. The first week mum came here she put on five pounds on in weight! That tells you a lot as mum was in hospital for 12 weeks. The staff are brilliant couldn't ask for any better everyone is always polite with us too.

Our mum had no trouble settling in at Croft House, even though she had lived independently for her former years.
We have always been welcomed and looked after whenever we visit.

Every member of staff is friendly, helpful and caring. What more can you ask for?

Resident was happy at Croft House. He was glad when he was released from the hospital, a much better environment with very friendly staff. We were able to visit with our dog which pleased us all including the staff. His bed sheets maybe could have been changed a little bit sooner on the odd occasion, his clothes were marked with name and room number but now and then he would be wearing clothes that weren't this.

Hello and welcome to Croft House, my name is Measha, and I have been the Home Manager since May 2025.

Croft House is a lovely home with a super team of staff who really care about the people who live here. It has been a real joy working with people who have shown such enthusiasm to enhance the lives of those living with us and be able to provide the best care in the most dignified way. I believe it’s a team effort, and encourage all of the staff to share ideas to continually improve how we care for and support the people who live here, their loved ones and family.

Please feel free to pop in for a chat or have a look around the home if you are considering a care home for yourself or your loved one.

Hello, my name is Siobhan and I am the Receptionist at Croft House.

I came to Croft House as a carer back in 2017 and then moved into the domestic team in 2020 after showing I had a passion for the environment and attention to detail, I worked in the domestic team during the Covid pandemic.

In June 2021, a position of Lifestyle Coordinator came up at the home and realising how much I missed the interaction with the people who live with us and have been the Receptionist here since July 2025 and was delighted when I got the job.

Julie Collier

Hello, my name is Julie and I’m the receptionist at Croft House, I’ve been working here since December 2021.

You will find me sitting at the main entrance to the home ready to greet you with a big smile and a warm welcome. I am usually the first person to answer any telephone calls coming into the home and, will do my very best to help you or point you in the right direction.

Part of my job role is to show people around the home, and this is something I really enjoy, so if you are looking for a care home for yourself or your loved one, I would be very happy to have a chat and show you around our lovely home.

We work as a good team together and are all very conscientious about our roles within the home.

I used to be a care assistant and loved my job, but unfortunately, I had to give it up due to a car accident, but it is lovely to be able to work within the care community again in a different role.

I have had a varied career path since I started work in 1975, from a Shoe Shop Assistant, Asda Wines & Spirits Supervisor, licensed Public House, and a catering assistant, as you can see, I’ve always enjoyed working with the public.

This is a lovely, rewarding job to be in and a happy home too.
