The care provided at Church View is excellent. The home is bright and clean with good living spaces. The food is varied and well cooked. The staff are professional and caring and do their best to make the residents feel at home. A special mention must go to the lifestyle team who put in a huge amount
of effort to keep the residents engaged and active. There are organised activities most days which all are encouraged to join. In my view the residents are treated with respect and kindness.

My Dad has now been a Permanent Resident at Earls Lodge for just over a year.
I find the Staff very friendly, attentive and very caring. They treat the Residents with respect and kindness. Nothing is too much trouble.
My Dad is very safe, he's well fed, and very well looked after which is a comfort
to both myself and my sister.
From a family members point of view, I take the lead when it comes to Dad and his care needs. I feel very well informed about all aspects of his care, and I'm kept updated with any issues that might arise on a day to day basis.
I wouldn't want my Dad to be anywhere else.
These people are genuinely very caring and show lots of love and affection. Not just the Carers, but the Managers, House Keeping, Kitchen Staff and the lovely Administrator. What a lovely team at Earls Lodge.

Hesslewood House Care Home

My parents have both been residents at Hesslewood. My mum had alzheimers and she was so well looked after. Mum declined rapidly after a stay in hospital and it was such a relief when she was able to go back to Hesslewood to be cared for again.

Dad is still a resident there. He enjoys the many activies

that are organised daily for the residents. Including games, quizzes, bingo and also walks outside in the lovely grounds. Often there is entertainment. Including singers coming in. Plus trips out to different places.

The staff go to a lot of trouble to arrange events that include the families, including a Christmas meal and mothers day afternoon tea.
There are wonderful themed decorations for things like Christmas, Easter, Halloween and other holidays.

In summary it is an excellent care home with caring staff and is in a lovely location.

Reply from Jackie Brook, Head of Marketing and PR at Hesslewood House Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share your experience.

We're truly grateful that your mum was able to return to Hesslewood House following her hospital stay, and that she received the care, comfort and support she needed during such a difficult time. It means a great deal to know she was well looked after.

We're also delighted to hear that your dad continues to enjoy life at the home - from the daily activities and entertainment to time spent outdoors in the gardens. Creating opportunities for residents to stay active, engaged and connected, while also welcoming families to share in special occasions, is something our team takes great pride in.

Thank you again for your kind words about our staff, surroundings and the atmosphere of the home. They will be shared with the team, who will be very proud to know the difference they are making.

With warm regards,
The Hesslewood House Team

Absolutely amazing care home!
Staff are amazing and very friendly and treat residents with the respect they deserve
Rooms and communal areas always kept clean and tidy.
The activities they provide each day to keep residents entertained is absolutely brilliant.
Also can really see a difference

The most amazing place. My mum had been in other care homes locally and I wasn't happy with her care so I got her moved to hesslewood and the difference in her is unbelievable. She is so happy. It's like a holiday camp for her. The entertainment, the staff, the care she gets is unrivalled. I can't thank
the staff enough for how they've treated her and got her involved in the many activities they put on. It has given me so much pleasure when I see her that she tells me how happy she is.

Thornhill House is an amazing care home,Christian and his staff always go the extra mile and nothing is ever too much trouble. The care they give my dad is outstanding, all the staff really care about his wellbeing and make sure he is safe and content which because of his dementia is not always easy.
Thornhill put on a three course meal for residents and their family on Christmas day which was fantastic, myself, my wife and dad had a great day, these times are precious and Thornhill understand this and really make an effort to make it special.
I can't emphasise enough the time, effort and care put in to make the residents life as good as it can be.

Thornhill house is more than just a care home - it's a community and a family- moving into residential care shouldn't be the end and that's where thornhill excels. The manager and all of the staff have created a family environment where we are invited to join in and are able to spend time with our loved
ones.
The team have supported the wider family as well as my mum to ensure the transition was settled and are always on hand to listen and support
We know our mum is safe and cared for in the environment she needs to support her needs
The activity programme is vast and they regularly take the residents on days out / visits to shows and are involved with the wider community including the local schools and pub
The environment is clean and user friendly while maintaining a homely feel
Nothing is too much trouble and you are ALWAYS treated with respect and dignity
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend

We're especially grateful for your recognition of the team's dedication, the welcoming environment, and the vibrant activities we offer. Your trust and recommendation are the highest compliments we could receive.

Excellent Care home. My father's stay was great, all staff across all areas went over and above to make sure he was cared for to a high standard, all his and my requests were acted on swiftly.
