Mum moved to Tuxford Manor under stressful circumstances. Since living here she has begun to thrive again and has regained her personality and dignity all thanks to the fantastic staff and care home manager. Tuxford Manor is homely, well-maintained and all the staff really care about every resident,
treating them with respect and kindness. My family and I can't thank Tuxford Manor enough for all they do for Mum!
Reply from Bev Cooper, Home Manager at Tuxford Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely words, the team always do their best in everything they do and it makes it all worthwhile when they can make a difference in someone's life. Excellent staff.
They were all attentive, competent, kind and treated the residents with dignity and respect.
Facilties were in good condition and the place was clean. I met several residents and all seemed well taken care of and all the staff knew each one as individuals and each ones personal needs.

I can't recommend Tuxford Manor enough. My dad moved here permanently this summer and my mum a few weeks later after a hospital stay, after really struggling to cope at home, despite all the help they received. The difference Tuxford Manor has made to both of them is striking. They are so much better
in themselves and have put on weight because they're now eating properly and have settled in really well.
All this is undoubtedly because of the knowledgeable, caring and attentive staff looking after them.
The atmosphere in the home is always warm and inviting. Everywhere - from communal spaces to bedrooms, is spotless and really nicely decorated.
Best of all, it's always so obvious that everyone working there really cares about making a difference.
Reply from Bev Cooper, Home Manager at Tuxford Manor Care HomeHi Lisa

My Dad went into Tuxford Manor for some Respite care as he was really struggling. Pleased to say that after a few weeks he was so much better and ready to go back home. I found all the staff so kind and caring. Always smiling, it was a pleasure to go and visit. A real home from home for the residents,
who all seemed settled in such a calm and caring environment. I would highly recommend.
Reply from Bev Cooper, Home Manager at Tuxford Manor Care HomeThank you so much, it was a real pleasure to meet you all and also support your Dad to return home. As much as we love having a full care home, we also get so much satisfaction to see a person return home looking better and stronger.

I came to visit dad on Saturday, I had such a reaffirming of the care shown to the residents. Sat with dad while he slept, I heard two of the carers singing to the residents while showering them. It was nice to know that even without family members present they still devoted their time and care to the
residents.

Due to the short time my wife has been in Tuxford Manor Care Home, I have found the management and staff have kept me well informed on everything that has to do with her health and welfare. For which I am truly grateful and thank them for that and know how hard they all work. A big thank you to all.

Mum went into care at Tuxford Manor at the end of October 2024. This was a very stressful time for me and my husband, I have got to say this is a fabulous care home, very caring and compassionate, like one big family. They understood our concerns and made it easier for her to transition into full-time
care. I love going to see her here and I know she is looked after and safe.

Staff at Manor Lodge are marvellous. Our wedding anniversary is on October 3rd, I brought buns and cake in on October 2nd and asked if we could have 3 plates for tomorrow. "Yes, of course, why did you not tell a member of staff it was your anniversary?" (I never gave it thought, men never do!). We were
greeted with a plate full of sandwiches and drinks. Thank you all. It made a nice afternoon.

My mum had a fall and was in hospital for 2 weeks. The hospital doctor said she couldn't walk or sit in a chair unaided. She couldn't use the toilet or ear and drink unaided. After one month at Tuxford Manot she is walking with her trolley, sitting up, eating and drinking unaided. Using the toilet unaided.
She has made a remarkable recovery all due to the wonderful staff and carers and the professional care they have provided.

Mum has been a resident for over 18 months now and I can honestly say that from the first day Mum arrived after being transferred from the hospital on a temporary visit that we decided Mum was so well looked after and made to feel so welcome that we decided not to move her and was 100% the best decision.

Tuxford Manor: A Care Home Like No Other. Located in the picturesque countryside. Tuxford Manor has gained a stellar reputation as the best care home in the area. Residents have access to the secure outdoors and enjoy fresh air, and plants and are allowed to do a little gardening. As a concerned individual,
you want nothing but the finest services for your loved ones. The dedicated staff at Tuxford Manor is truly exceptional. The manager is an expert on dementia and care. They provide personal hairdressing, beauty and care services to the residents. My mother who had dementia had her remaining time spent in care with amazing staff. I could not wish for a better final resting than Tuxford Manor. A big thank you to all the staff, especially my mother's personal carer. I mention Tuxford Manor to anyone looking for a care home within the area, amazing place!

My father has been at Tuxford Manor Care Home for a year and the care home staff, without exception, have been outstanding. They have a great rapport with him and genuinely care for his welfare during what has been a difficult time with his wife's health problems. They are always happy to chat with
us and respect our opinions. The staff themselves seem happy in their jobs which must reflect positively on the management of the care home.
Dad would like to pass on his comments that in his view "they are all absolutely wonderful".

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.818)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10 for Tuxford Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.868 for Tuxford Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (188 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 212 Ratings = 4.868
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tuxford Manor Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
