The home is just so lovely, the staff go above and beyond to ensure everyone is cared for. My father has been here for 18 months now and I can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work. They have always got a smile! Tuxford Manor Care Home is by far the best care home in the area! Thank You All!

As soon as you enter the care home it is very clear to see that residents are very well cared for and their independence, where possible, is supported by all levels of staff. The caring staff, along with high-quality meals makes this care home a safe, inviting environment for people of all ages to be cared for to very high standards. The care given gives family members of residents peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are being cared for to a very high standard.

My husband spent a week at the home for respite care and he was very well treated by everyone. As far as one can tell, he enjoyed his break and I would definitely arrange another stay when needed. Thank you.

My mum went into Tuxford Manor care home in early 2018 and she passed on 3rd January 2022, but I would like to talk about her life at her home in Tuxford Manor. It was difficult for her at the beginning but she became more comfortable in her surroundings with time and with the support she was given by the staff, which continued for all the time she lived at a place she called her home. I cannot express the gratitude my husband and I have for all the people who work there, they are all committed to all the people who live there, nothing was ever a problem. I cannot express how much this home meant to us and my mum. We would like to say a very big thank you to all at Tuxford Manor and especially the manager.

I was very scared about staying as I've never done respite before but the staff never made me feel I have never stayed anywhere where the staff are so nice. And as for the manager, she goes above and beyond to help others. Nothing is too much trouble for her.

Lovely, modern accommodation, very friendly staff, clean and safe environment. Easy to find with plenty of parking, good outdoor space. The manager is very accommodating, even during Covid times. Thoroughly recommended.

My mum was in Tuxford Manor for a period of 4 weeks for rehabilitation following surgery. This really helped her a lot on her way to recovery - she was provided initially with a motorised wheelchair to help her around, but as she improved staff helped her mobilise with a frame to continue her recovery. She enjoyed the food (the pies and fish and chips were rated especially highly) and told me how friendly the staff were. I found the same - although it was a difficult time due to Covid, the staff were always very friendly and helpful whenever I rang up, nothing was too much trouble. My mum was struggling with using a mobile phone - the staff were happy to take a phone to her and help her use it so I could talk to her. I did this every day whilst she was there, and the staff were always very cheerful and happy to support this. A very positive experience for both my mum and me.

Review from I C (Mother of Resident) published on 26 March 2021 Submitted via Postal Card

My mother has been here for four years, and during that time, all of her needs have been more than met. She has had a few episodes requiring hospitalisation, and each time I was informed immediately and given the opportunity to be with her; the most recent was serious/critical. With Covid-19, visiting was organised within the rules.

Overall Experience

My mother moved in February 2020. From staying in bed full time, not very mobile, to actively joining in activities and being very chatty. Mum has really come out of her shell since moving in. I feel really glad I have made the right decision to move my mother into care. The manager and her staff have worked tirelessly with Mum and me to provide the best possible care. My mother is tartar, one of these difficult people that like to cause drama and arguments. It is a massive relief that I have an army of lovely staff that can handle Mum. I can visit when she's on a good day and let the staff handle her on her bad days. It's a massive load off my shoulders. Yes, the lockdowns have meant I have not seen my mum, but I have regular updates, and photos, I am reassured that she is receiving care fitting for the Queen she is. Once more, I can be her daughter, and she is my mother. Not be a carer. Tuxford Manor Care Home is outstanding.

My mum has been a resident for several years, and we are so satisfied with the care and attention Mum receives. It brings us so much joy to see how many activities the residents enjoy and how the care home regularly updates its Facebook page with photos and news. It is so nice that they make an effort to celebrate holidays such as Easter and Valentine’s Day despite Mum’s dementia being very advanced. Thank you so much.

My nan is a resident in this care home, and every time I’ve visited, the people are extremely friendly and always there to help. Due to COVID 19, I haven’t really been able to visit, but I do enjoy seeing updates and photos on their Facebook profiles of activities they enjoy doing.

The care at Tuxford Manor is exemplary. The staff are warm, friendly and exceptional in their empathy. Mum and our family felt supported, confident and at ease in this amazing environment. Excellent management permeates the whole structure to provide a 'home' with genuine priority given to residents needs.

A room was made available for my father at very short notice (less than 24 hours) on 25.3.2020. He is 92 years old and no longer capable of looking after himself. Due to COVID-19, I was unable to accompany him into the building, which made good sense because of the home's adherence fo social distancing policies. He was made welcome by the manager and all members of staff. He has access to a phone in the home and can contact me 24/7. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and he feels totally at home and safe at all times and totally content with the decision to place him here. Amazing management and staff and awesome facility.

Overall Experience

The team at Tuxford Manor are incredibly caring. I know it’s their job but they are amazing and go above and beyond all the time. They always make time to talk through how dad is doing and it’s never a problem to talk to him when I ring, as I live out of the country. Dad has been having a few problems lately and the team here have handled things with great professionalism, care and consideration for him as a resident. I feel he’s in safe hands and they always do their best for dad. I am extremely happy that he is here, you really couldn’t ask for a better team of people to look the person you love when it’s no longer possible at home.

Reply from Bev Cooper, Home Manager at Tuxford Manor Care Home

Thank you, Helen, for your review. I know it's so difficult for you as you live so far away but be rest assured that we are doing our level best for Dad and you can ring me at any time to get an honest update on his progress and well-being. Take care over there in New Zealand and keep safe.

My father is so happy to be looked after with such care and compassion. It is never too much trouble for the staff to find him when I telephone to speak to dad. They are always so cheerful and polite when they answer the phone. The manager has a very efficient but friendly manner and always answers any queries I have with great confidence, which in turn confirms the choice we made for dad to be at this wonderful place. Whenever dad has a problem with his catheter, it is solved very efficiently and my father is shown respect at a time when his dignity is at risk. We thank them so much for giving us as a family peace of mind.
