My Dad has now been a Permanent Resident at Earls Lodge for just over a year.
I find the Staff very friendly, attentive and very caring. They treat the Residents with respect and kindness. Nothing is too much trouble.
My Dad is very safe, he's well fed, and very well looked after which is a comfort
to both myself and my sister.
From a family members point of view, I take the lead when it comes to Dad and his care needs. I feel very well informed about all aspects of his care, and I'm kept updated with any issues that might arise on a day to day basis.
I wouldn't want my Dad to be anywhere else.
These people are genuinely very caring and show lots of love and affection. Not just the Carers, but the Managers, House Keeping, Kitchen Staff and the lovely Administrator. What a lovely team at Earls Lodge.

Thank you , NO A BIG THANK YOU! After looking after my husband at home with a number of ailments for years , we had to make the decision to look for a care home for my husband , because his Dementia was so bad , I unfortunately had to decide on a home for him. He is now in Cooper House , is settled
, and very well looked after. It makes the life of all our family so much easier , because we know he is in a caring , safe environment . Each visit we make confirms , that we chose well with Cooper House. The staff is very friendly , helpful and there when we have questions or need reassurance. We are promptly informed , if there has been an incident like a fall for example, because this can not be avoided as I know from my care time for my husband at home .
Reply from Dorota Piechowiak, Regional Manager at Cooper HouseThank you so much for your kind words. It is wonderful to hear that your husband has settled well at Cooper House and that the care and support he is receiving is making life easier for your family.
We are delighted that our team has been able to provide reassurance, friendliness, and professionalism, and that you feel confident he is in a safe and caring environment. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be shared with the team, as it truly reflects their dedication and commitment to our residents.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. It means a lot to all of us at Cooper House.

My Mum had a medical emergency in the early hours of the morning and was tended to by the most amazing, caring, professional and attentive health care professional Emma.
From what I understand she started work at 8pm for her shift and was still there at 11am the next day still caring for Mum.
Making
the heart wrenching decision to move Mum into a Care/Nursing home is something we are still struggling with, but, knowing she is being looked after by people like Emma takes a huge amount of the guilt away. She really went above and beyond for Mum and looked after her as though she was her own mum.
Thank you

Mum has been in Earls lodge since the beginning of the year. She went in as she was falling and quite unwell. She was 6 stones when she arrived she now weighs over 7.5 stone. The staff are incredible and she enjoys baths, pamper sessions, sing-a-longs, bingo the list is endless. I cannot fault her care
at Earls Lodge and she is the happiest I have seen her in a long time. She won't stop talking about the recent trip to Bridlington!!! I cannot thank the staff enough, and I can now relax knowing she is in excellent hands.

I was very pleased with the care my mum was given while she was in Cooper House. The staff couldn't have been more caring and sympathetic to her and the other residents. I have to give a special mention to one of the carers, who showed me understanding when I was getting upset. There was another member
of staff whose name I unfortunately can't remember, but she attended my mum's funeral with another member of staff who was also very kind. Yes, Cooper House is an excellent care home!!
Reply from Dorota Piechowiak, Regional Manager at Cooper HouseThank you so much for your thoughtful message. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that their compassion and dedication made a difference to both your mum and your family.I will ensure your message is shared with the staff, especially those you mentioned, as they will be touched to know how much their support meant to you. Attending your mum's funeral was a way of showing the respect and bond they had with her, and I know they will be humbled by your appreciation. We remain committed to providing the highest level of care and comfort for all our residents, and feedback like yours reassures the team that their hard work is truly valued. With warm regards

I came to Earls Lodge for respite care and in the time I was there I felt very lucky to be looked after by all of the lovely staff. The care I received is like nothing I'd ever have imagined. The staff took care of all my needs and even curled my hair. I arrived at the home looking unkept and I am leaving
looking and feeling like Marilyn Monroe. I would recommend this home always to people. I'd take the staff home if I could.

There seems to be a shortage of staff. Residents are often left in the day lounge unsupervised for long periods of time. On the rare occasion there is a member of staff in the lounge they are often preoccupied on their mobile phone rather than interacting with residents. I often visit my mother and
do not see a member of staff at all during my visit or have to go hunting for someone to help other residents. There are a small number of lovely, dedicated staff but there are some who are quite rude and abrupt with both residents and visitors. The dining room is often dirty and not set for meal times. I feel that the activities/entertainment is poor and there appears to be a lack of stimulation for residents. I would like regular updates on what activities my mother has been involved in. I would suggest some nice background music in the lounge. The home looks run down and needs investment in decor and furnishings. I have seen no improvements since Strong Life Care took over in Jan 2025.

Had to request Dad to be bathed as he was smelly. When his feet swelled, I asked for doctor to come and have a look and his legs became very hot and swollen and sore, and the doctor said for Dad to elevate his legs.
I still wasn't happy, so I persisted, and then 2 days later, a nurse and another doctor
said he had cellulitis and needed antibiotic cream. This should have been prescribed at the first notification, thus causing unnecessary discomfort.
Reply from Ayuuba Nafah, Home Manager at Cooper HouseI had a meeting with the daughter regarding the concerns raised above and was able to show evidence to her that her father (MC) has a shower 2 - 3 a week and has a wash between showers. Daughter suggested that her dad would like a bath once a week which has been added to the care plan.Regarding MC's swollen legs, he was seen the the GP who advised us to elevate his feet and monitor. We arranged another GP review for MC when his legs did not improve and the GP prescribed antibiotics and topical cream. We listened to his daughter when she wasn't happy with the initial intervention of elevating legs. I have discussed the concerns raised by MC's daughter with the team to ensure that we are consistently addressing the concerns.
