My father was brought by ambulance from LGI and went into residence only 4 days ago so it is difficult to review after such a short period, having said this I am very happy with the care he has been given to date, all the staff seem very competent and cheerful. At all times dad has settled in well and
likes the home and his room as of now myself and my family are very pleased for my dad to be here.

My husband came here after a stroke he had in June 2015. He has been well cared for. He has had to be admitted to hospital on three occasions since he came with urine infections and pneumonia. Each time his condition was spotted early and hospital contacted immediately and I was also contacted straight
away enabling me to get to the home in time to go with him to the hospital. Over recent months changes and improvements have been made to the running of the home and staffing members- all for the good.

Although my mother was resident at Earls Lodge for less than two weeks prior her death she experienced very thorough and compassionate care throughout her stay. The management and staff showed kindness and understanding to the whole family during a very difficult time.

We were made to feel very welcome and our minds out to rest, we were all treated with respect and dignity for me it was a very hard decision to make to put my mum in a care home but she had only been a short time. I am very pleased with how quick she has settled in. So glad she is in a good care home,
can not fault any thing or the staff.

My dad was extremely poorly when he came to Earls Lodge. After a long stay in hospital, several bouts of hospital acquired infections and falls his weight had plummeted and he was confused and frail. With the care of the excellent staff at Earls Lodge he is back to his old self again. The home is
well run and the staff are very friendly, kind and caring. The food is excellent and the home is very clean and welcoming. My dad cannot praise the treatment he receives at Earls Lodge too highly and he is happy and settled there.

My gran was moved to Earls Lodge from hospital as she is unable to live on her own now due to dementia. I have never known a place like it, the staff are amazing and treat everybody that lives there with respect and look after them well.
The home is well looked after.
My gran has been there a week
today and the difference in her is amazing and I can't thank the manager and staff enough for what they do
I would and have been singing the praises to everybody I know.
Knowing that my gran is very well cared for it makes the illness better to cope with.
Thanks again.

Since my mum came into Earls Lodge I am happy that she has settled in so well and is extremely happy. The staff are excellent in every way always on hand if any worries. They look after mum fantastically always checking if she needs anything. The home is spotlessly clean and is kept that way always.
The menu is varied and suits all dietary needs. I would recommend to anyone looking for a care home I can't complain about anything.

Our life long friend has been a resident at Earls Lodge for 4 months. During this time we have found ALL levels of staff to be friendly, patient and extremely caring. We are always welcomed with a smile and a chat (we visit every day) which is much appreciated. Nurses and management have shown compassion,
knowledge and respect during serious illness and challenging times. The food is very good and the kitchen staff will accommodate our friends' requirements even when it's not on the menu. Our experience of Earls Lodge is a well run, warm and welcoming establishment.
Reply from Anthony Carlin, Home Manager at Earls Lodge Care HomeThank you Liz - we always try to provide the highest level of care and will always strive to improve. Your feedback is always appreciated.

During my father in laws stay here, I have had no complaints about his care. The staff have always been helpful, caring and considerate. They have become his main family. I feel that without this care he would not be here today. We live approximately 35 miles away and did at one time consider moving
him to a home nearer to us. However as he and we are happy with Earls Lodge this would have been unfair.

My mother really enjoyed her stay at Earls Lodge. She was there for two weeks respite care after a fall. Being a lady at 99 years old mother is normally very independent but she said all the staff were very helpful and she thought of the stay as a little holiday. Many thanks from both sons for the service
provided by Earls Lodge.

All staff are very caring and know mums likes and dislikes. They prompt her when necessary with food which is good. I have also stayed for lunch sometimes. It is good to have an en suite bathroom, she had some issues with laundry not being returned but we have marked things and this has improved.

Moved my mum from some very basic care facility in Stockport as they didn't tackle issues raised. The team at Earls Lodge are all making a positive contribution to support my mum. The positive reassurance from the staff is great. There is a really good "feel" to the home everyone seems to happy to help.

I find myself very fortunate to find this care home for my husband, when you've got excellent management who listen and are very helpful. The staff are very caring and it's down to them, that my husband is now very settled.
It means a lot when having to place him in a care home that i can go home
knowing he's cared for. I also have a good relationship with management and staff, nothing is too much for them.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.691)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.691) out of 10 for Earls Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.691 for Earls Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (244 Excellents x 5) + (92 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 343 Ratings = 4.691
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Earls Lodge Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
