All the staff are excellent and do everything to give the residents a good time. Mum is treated with care and dignity and nothing is too much for the staff. The rooms are always spotless and the food is good. The staff always inform me about Mum's health and what has been happening with her. All the
carers are very good with Mum and I feel that she is loved as well as cared for.

My mum entered Earls Lodge Care Home in December 2022 for respite care originally but whilst Mum was there, my stepdad passed away so the staff confirmed that Mum could stay as a full-time resident straight away. The care I saw my mum receive from the staff was caring and compassionate. With dementia,
Mum was still quite smiley and seemed happy here. She loved doing the activities and had her favourites among the staff members. Mum passed away on 23rd March but as much as missing my mum, I miss seeing the staff. Thank you.
Reply from Michael Smith, Head of Operations at Earls Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words, it is always heartwarming to know that people are happy with the care we provide.
We will certainly mention this in our next staff meeting.
Kindest Regards,
Michael.

The care and service I am receiving are of the highest quality. Nothing is too much trouble - they make me feel special. The carers are all so friendly and helpful. They also find ways to stimulate us all. One day, the carer started dancing to music on the radio - able-bodied patients took to their
feet trying to dance whilst others watched with smiles on their faces. It was a lovely few moments. The catering staff do a sterling job. I am diabetic, and this fact is never forgotten by the team. Thank you, "Earls Lodge", perfect care all round.

Well laid out building, cared for by very competent and caring staff. All needs cared for, food enjoyable with no complaints from Mum. Good range of activates with outside interventions (when allowed)! A very enjoyable experience, but cannot wait till I can clear Mums room out. Garden visits have been
an asset over these past "very trying" times. Shame the ex-manager was unable to see the home through back to "normal" times.

My mum says it's beautiful, and if she's happy, so am I. The care assistants are very helpful, but I will be glad when I can get into Mums room and see the rest of the home. Visiting is not as I like it, but when the virus allows, I can probably get to see her more.

While my wife was staying at this care home, she was very well looked after. The staff were fantastic, both towards myself and my wife. I received regular updates on my wife's health and all questions were answered. Very easy to contact by phone etc. I would highly recommend this care home.

Fantastic staff, mum is very happy. We know the staff goes over and above to provide a healthy and homely environment for all residents. Keep up the great work, we all really appreciate you. It's hard not being able to visit and hug etc but the pod is fantastic and much better than no visits.

Staff are friendly and helpful. My nana always tells me when I visit how nice they are and that she loves the staff that looks after her. I can tell she is well cared for and looked after. The hub is a fantastic addition as well to enable us to visit our relatives. I love the Facebook page so we can
see pictures of her regularly which I love to see what she is up to. The activities are great for the residents. I'm happy she is in such a nice care home.

Following a deterioration in the resident's condition, through no fault of the home, the home responded quickly, compassionately and kept the resident's family informed. Outside agencies confirmed that the home were doing all the right things to help and keep the resident safe.

Mum needed rehab after previous care home where she was for nearly 2 months. Earls Lodge helped me find a bed for Mum. Every single member of the team helped Mum more than I could ever ask for. Nothing was too much trouble. What an amazing team they have there every single one of them. I could not thank

We have nothing but praise for Earls Lodge and its staff. Our friend was moved to the nursing home for end of life care and, whilst only in there for just under two weeks, the care provided was second to none. We had some reservations when choosing the home mainly due to some previous reviews. However,
the home has gone through a major review and, having had changes to staff and updates to care provision, we couldn't have chosen a better place to look after our friend in the final weeks of his life.
All the staff we professional but caring and the support given to our friend and us in his last few days made the whole process more bearable. We are so relieved that we went with our gut instinct and chose this home for our friend's final time here.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.691)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.691) out of 10 for Earls Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.691 for Earls Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (244 Excellents x 5) + (92 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 343 Ratings = 4.691
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Earls Lodge Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
