St. Mary's Care Centre is a purpose-built care home situated in a residential area in Anlaby, within Kingston upon Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

They strive to ensure that Residents rights to dignity and self-respect are upheld at all times and that the Home maintains quality as a principal pursuit.

The home supports people with long-term nursing care needs and can accommodate a maximum of 60 people. Accommodation is provided in spacious, en-suite rooms with four different room designs. People living in the home are provided with a wide variety of communal spaces including lounges, a cinema room, a hairdressing salon, a physiotherapy room, a library and music room.

St Mary's Care Centre has Veteran Friendly Accreditation. The home can support veterans with their wellbeing needs, including support with social isolation and signposting to statutory and charitable services.

Being involved in what is going on and taking part in fun activities is an essential part of life. I currently visit 2 elderly friends who have been residents for a few months and are extremely content there. There are always activities in which they enjoy participating. Also, my mother was a resident there for 7 months (she died 18 months ago) and again she and we were very pleased with the care
she was given. The home has a very welcoming environment, the food is good, there are lovely gardens where they grow some food and the residents can help if they wish.


I have been a visitor to many homes in this area over the past few years and this is the only one I would recommend.

The admission of a loved one to a care home is usually a last resort, as it was in our case, when my father could no longer look after himself and his family were unable to meet all of his needs satisfactorily.
It is a daunting prospect but we were fortunate enough to have St. Mary’s nearby.
My father
was a resident of St. Mary's Care Centre for five and a half years as a result of advanced Parkinson’s Disease.
St. Mary’s appealed as it is a modern, purpose built, single storey building. This suited my father’s mobility issues and meant that he could use a motorised wheelchair relatively easily.
During the five and a half years, my father received very good care and formed good relationships with the staff. One thing that did strike me was how low the staff turnover was at St. Mary’s. Many of the carers and other members of staff who were there at the beginning are still there which is highly beneficial for both residents and family.

My 91 year old dad, who had lived with myself and my husband for the last 12 years, went into St Mary's care home in May after we found it too difficult to give him the 24 hour care he needed. From the outset, the staff were wonderful with him. Nothing was ever too much trouble and nothing fazed them.
In the short time he was there (he sadly died two weeks ago) they not only looked after him but gave him love and attention and made me feel that he was special to them. Although he was very frail he built up a lovely rapport with all the staff.
I have nothing but praise for the staff in the home and I know they made my dad’s final few months as comfortable and as happy as possible.
