Mum came in on the 31st of December after a stay in hospital. She was met by some amazing staff who help get her settled into her new room. The care that mum has received since she has been in St Mary's Lodge has been amazing. They have been very accommodating to mums needs and always checking in on
her as she has been bed bound. They have made sure mum is comfortable. They have also made me feel welcome every time I've visited mum, kept me upto date with mum's condition and how she's been. The food that has been offered to mum has been lovely. Nice hearty meals such as lamb hotpot, beef stew with a homemade trifle. The look of the home it's self is set out nice with a welcoming look when you step through the doors. It also has an added bonus of seeing the wildlife through the windows such as squirrels playing and robins coming to the bird boxes. The home is also kept very clean and tidy with rooms cleaned daily.
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at St Mary's Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful words about your mum's time with us at St Mary's Lodge. We were deeply saddened to hear of her passing and all of us send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this very difficult time.

It truly means a great deal to the whole team to know that your mum was made comfortable and that you felt welcomed, supported, and kept informed throughout her stay. It was a privilege to care for her, and she was very much respected and cared for by everyone who had the pleasure of looking after her.
Your kind words regarding the home , the meals, and the little moments such as watching the wildlife are especially touching, and we're grateful you noticed the care and thought that goes into making St Mary's Lodge a calm and comforting place.
Please know that our thoughts are with you and your family. If there is anything at all we can do to support you, now or in the coming days, do not hesitate to ask

I Couldn't ask for more caring and loving people to look after my mum. They are kind, patient and treat my mum with such dignity and respect. They don't only take care of my mum but also her friends and family to try and make it as homely and normal as possible. They always go above and beyond. I wouldn't
put my mother anywhere else and I have peace of mind after leaving knowing she is well cared for. It's nice to know the staff actually care for my mum and have her best interests always.

My grandad has been in this care home since November and the care and compassion shown to him during the entire time he's been here is second to none! The care home manager is amazing she is always ensuring everything is ok. Every single carer / nurse / management is just to the highest standard of
care! Nothing is ever too much for them, they ensure they go above and beyond every single day! The home is so warm and welcoming it feels like home to my grandad who loves st Mary's! The staff always take the time to chat to him and have a laugh and a joke with him which he loves! I always feel so so reassured and happy that my grandad is so well cared for here!

All are professional, sister-in-law is content and well looked after. Not sure about the quantity of activities on offer as I have never seen any. This home is more expensive than others in the group. I am assuming this is because of its size?

The leadership of this home is incredible and all the Staff are amazing.... caring, friendly and always helpful. The routine in the home is constant, which is important to the residents. They take time to get to know each individual in their care, and therefore understand all their needs. The food is
very good and varied and the residents are given choices as to what they would like for each meal.
The home is meticulously clean, and lots of different activities provided to cater for each individual. It is always decorated for each season/celebration and is a delight to visit.
I am delighted to have chosen St Mary's for my Mum's care and I'm very confident she will be well looked after. Thank you to all the Staff x

This is an exceptional care home, with staff who have spent time getting to know my mum. I am so very grateful that they understand her needs and go out of their way to bring joy and humour to her care, each and every day. My mum is someone who needs laughter and love, and this home has simply been
outstanding. She's been there four years now, and all the carers are an absolute credit. We can't thank them enough. I would absolutely recommend this home - it's never easy to trust others with something so important, but I hope this recommendation offers some reassurance that this home really tailors care and support when it's needed the most.

When our mum's dementia worsened and we realised we could no longer look after her properly, we arranged for her to move to Castle Grange. We were all anxious about this big change but it has been overwhelmingly positive. Whenever we visit, mum looks well, happy and relaxed. She has made friends and
joins in with the daily activities like singing. Castle Grange is welcoming place. The building is bright and modern, there is a garden to walk around, the food is food and, most importantly, everyone who works there is kind and helpful. They all do a fantastic job. I feel like a massive weight has been lifted. It's so reassuring to know that mum is safe, happy and being well looked after.

My mother chose (by it's reputation) to go to St Mary's after breaking her hip in Jan 2025. She has not regretted it. All the staff are caring, and she is always addressed by her first name (her preference). Her likes and dislikes are taken care of. Medically staff keep relations really well informed
of new issues, medications etc,. Facilities are excellent and her own room is always kept very clean with adequate storage, comfy chairs etc. The ensuite is equally spotless. My mothers needs are completely recognised by the staff and I feel she is 100% safe there.
