Welcome to Rosedale.

Located in the historical village of Catterick, 3 miles south of Richmond, Rosedale Care and Nursing Home is a historic stone-built detached house which was previously a Vicarage when the garrison town of Richmond Camp was formed in 1914 and renamed Catterick Camp in 1915 before becoming Catterick Garrison in 1973. The camp had 6 – 7 churches and the Vicarage was built as a home for the Archpriest of Catterick Camp.

The home was first opened as a retirement home in 1985 and the Hollies wing was added to the home in 1996 and the Lodge was built in 1998. The home was acquired by Maria Mallaband Care Group in July 2005. The home has retained must of the original character including the extensive grounds and woodland including onsite car park and is also accessible on the bus route to Catterick Camp which is 0.4 miles away from the home which is serviced by the X26 and Max X27 bus.

The main house is a two storey building known as the Brambles which houses residential and nursing residents and leads into the Hollies extension where people living with dementia reside. The Lodge is a two storey building for residential residents with outdoor, secure garden patio with raised planters for residents to plant and enjoy flowers all year round.

The coffee shop for the home is located in the Brambles where hot drinks are available for complimentary refreshments along with two lounges and a dining room. The Hollies and Lodge also have a dining room and lounge. All bedrooms are fully furnished and ensuite.

The home has a dedicated lifestyle/activities coordinator on site and residents enjoy activities in and out of the home.

With a 5 star award in Food Hygiene at the home and the belief that food is a huge aspect of care at Rosedale, residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley.

Very happy with the care my sister is getting. The staff looking after her really seem to have an interest in her and care for her even though the response may be somewhat negative or difficult due to her illness.

My mother is now a resident, the home has saved her as she caught covid whilst in Darlington Hospital in December. They have worked very hard keeping her alive really, and I speak to them everyday and be called at home should any issue come up.
The staff are very polite and patient, cannot fault the
level of care.

Things do change if I comment eg. no underwear or nighties and pyjamas for the past 3 weeks in her cupboard. Understand there were problems with laundry. I bought replacements and these were noted on today's visits.
The staff are great - very kind towards mum and residents and seem to know her well
and very gentle, caring towards her. Worked well with GP to adjust (for the better) mum's medication. Glad to see some updating in the Hollies before refurbishment of the private block (which my fee-paying mum will not be able to live in) ahead of the fee increase in April 2022. Staff need a pay rise.

My father has been in Rosedale since Feb 2021. The staff have welcomed him, cared for him, and shown only kindness and care. The facilities are pleasant, warm, and welcoming. It took me a long time to accept I could no longer look after him at home and broke my heart when he became a resident but he
has thrived, become healthier and content most of the time. I know he is being well cared for.

My husband has been a resident for two years and five months and although his health and mental capacity have deteriorated his care has been excellent throughout.
The staff are kind and caring and welcome my visits.

When I visit my friend the girls are always polite, friendly, and helpful. The testing when I visit is nothing to be worried about and done while the girls are explaining everything to me. My friend is very happy in Rosedale and said she is looked after very well.

As we visit infrequently and only see a small part of the home it is difficult to answer all the options below. What we do see however is the very friendly and caring staff who obviously know my sister-in-law very well and see how genuinely invested in her care they are and are very informative to us.
I understand and totally agree with having a negative Covid test and wearing masks when we visit but I do feel the gloves and aprons are a little over the top especially for an outside visit.

I and my family cannot praise Rosedale care home enough. When my husband arrived there, he was already seriously ill. The care that he was given from the outset was second to none. He was treated with respect and dignity from the start. Even though he was so ill, the nursing staff were on hand for any
eventuality, and the carers who looked after his daily needs could not have done any more. I was visiting him two days before he died, and during that visit, the young lady who had been seeing to his every need came to take him to his bed, and the smile that he gave her told me everything. He was happy to let her look after him, and that meant so much to me seeing it. It is one of the things among many that I will never forget about Rosedale whenever I think of my husbands passing.

Staff have coped well during the terrible pressure of Covid-19. Being unable to visit frequently has meant stress for me and for my husband. Obviously this was unavoidable and I value my 1/2 hour visits.

The care mum receives on a day to day basis is outstanding. Whenever you go to visit or telephone you are always made welcome. It's just like being at home among friends and nothing is too much trouble.
We don't need to worry about mum as we know she is in extremely safe hands. Would recommend Rosedale
