Welcome to Rosedale.

Located in the historical village of Catterick, 3 miles south of Richmond, Rosedale Care and Nursing Home is a historic stone-built detached house which was previously a Vicarage when the garrison town of Richmond Camp was formed in 1914 and renamed Catterick Camp in 1915 before becoming Catterick Garrison in 1973. The camp had 6 – 7 churches and the Vicarage was built as a home for the Archpriest of Catterick Camp.

The home was first opened as a retirement home in 1985 and the Hollies wing was added to the home in 1996 and the Lodge was built in 1998. The home was acquired by Maria Mallaband Care Group in July 2005. The home has retained must of the original character including the extensive grounds and woodland including onsite car park and is also accessible on the bus route to Catterick Camp which is 0.4 miles away from the home which is serviced by the X26 and Max X27 bus.

The main house is a two storey building known as the Brambles which houses residential and nursing residents and leads into the Hollies extension where people living with dementia reside. The Lodge is a two storey building for residential residents with outdoor, secure garden patio with raised planters for residents to plant and enjoy flowers all year round.

The coffee shop for the home is located in the Brambles where hot drinks are available for complimentary refreshments along with two lounges and a dining room. The Hollies and Lodge also have a dining room and lounge. All bedrooms are fully furnished and ensuite.

The home has a dedicated lifestyle/activities coordinator on site and residents enjoy activities in and out of the home.

With a 5 star award in Food Hygiene at the home and the belief that food is a huge aspect of care at Rosedale, residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley.

Right from the beginning we were very comfortable with the welcoming staff, on visiting most days it was obvious that all the staff had a good relationship with the residents. My husband expressed his admiration for how he was looked after and I could tell that he was happy.
Normally reticent he joined
in with the entertainment by a harpist in his own quiet way. That was a lovely session enjoyed by all.
I should have no hesitation in recommending Rosedale to anyone looking for accommodation for themselves or a loved one.

My daughter created a surprise birthday party for me last week. Our activities worker helped her. My daughter said that she thought the staff were fabulous with all the help and advice she provided for her to provide the party.

This is the 3rd home my mother has been in and by far the best. At last we have found a place that understands the needs of a person with dementia. They have activities everyday, the staff are naturally easy and friendly with the residents. The food is great and served nicely, it's always warm and well
presented. My mother has put on 10 kg in 6 months after losing it in 10 months whilst at another place. Her room is always spotless and she is always wearing her own clothes that are clean and pressed. Rosedale is a total credit to care of the elderly. I cannot say enough how Rosedale has changed my mother's life.

To describe the management and staff at Rosedale, the word 'Excellent' in all departments of patient care is the appropriate comment to be used in my review. Good management produces good care for the patients at Rosedale, and good management always runs in a good team.

My mother was admitted to this care home from hospital and although it was quite a distance from my home it was certainly worth the travelling. The building, the decor and the staff were exceptional to not only the residents but visitors as well. I cannot praise the staff enough for friendliness, respect
to the residents and the feeling of 'home from home'. Any concerns I had were always dealt with and I was always informed of her condition and of any problems. I never had to search for a member of staff because there was always someone in each social room. The whole ambience was calm and caring. Sadly my mum at the age of 95 died, but peacefully and respectfully - they really care and that is a great comfort to me.

My experience at Rosedale has been lovely. The food is cooked in kitchen fresh everyday and is delicious. I did not like the first room I went into but when I told then I was given a new room. It's hard to settle at first as there's no place like home, but I couldn't speak highly enough about the carers.
I have made new friends and feel like a new woman after my manicure and treatments. I would recommend Rosedale to friends, family's or strangers.

It has to be said, they know how to have a party at Rosedale. They know just the type of entertainment we like, but that might be because they care enough to ask us what we like. Staff are always smiling, singing and whistling along to the music. There's always something to look forward to and activities

On leaving Rosedale after a good stay, I would just like to say how natural the place is. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff are kind, warm and professional. I am sorry to be leaving. The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend the place. The welcome and the warmth are second to none.
Thank you to all. The entertainers are local when possible, appropriate and every event is well thought out to provide excellent entertainment for all.

I have been reflecting on the time I have spent at Rosedale and have realised how much my confidence has grown. I really feel my experience has been one of home from home. It is really nice that I have someone to really talk to and someone who listens and understands how I feel. I feel I can trust and
confide in her about anything. The cares are wonderful and the activities woman goes that extra mile. No ones allowed to feel down without her putting a smile on your face. I don't know what we'd do without her.

Both my parents are in Rosedale, dad in The Lodge and mum in The Brambles.
This has been a very stressful time for us as a family. We would like to take this opportunity to say that without the support, care, kindness, respect and professionalism of the staff team this was made bearable.

I have been visiting a resident for over 3 years and whilst she would still like to be in her own home, she always compliments the staff at Rosedale. From my observations she is very well cared for, her hair is cut & set, her nails are polished regularly and she always looks clean and tidy. She enjoys
the entertainment as well. I am always offered a cup of tea when I visit and I am delighted that there is now a visitors room. This enables visiting to take place in a more relaxed atmosphere, away from the busy residents lounge. Staff are always available to answer questions and the home looks warm and attractive.

On the day of my mother-in-law's funeral in Darlington, three carers from Rosedale accompanied my father-in-law who has dementia to the funeral and following wake, their help and performance was impeccable, most professional and impressive.

My mum and dad are/were residents at Rosedale. Mum died after a short illness recently. The staff could not have been more supportive having given lots of loving care to both of them. They enabled three carers to help dad (dementia resident) to attend the funeral etc. Without their help he would not
have been able to say goodbye (in his own way) and spend an afternoon surrounded by family and friends.

When I was looking for a care home for a lady who now has passed away. Rosedale was the first one I went to visit. Upon entering I was amazed at how the care home had a lovely and welcoming feel about it and also because the staff were really kind and caring.
I did go and visit another care home but
soon relayed my choice of care home was Rosedale. Alas the lady in question passed away Christmas Eve, and the staff were very helpful and shared great kindness to us as her carers.
I would recommend Rosedale to anyone. I would also like to say what a pleasure it was to meet the administrator.

We are always welcomed and staff are happy to see us. I can ask the staff anything, from the cleaners to the manager, they are all good. My husband is very settled here and very happy. He never asks to come home. He is very content and happy too be looked after at Rosedale.

keep me informed of any changes or illness with my husband. We are very pleased with my husbands care and the care provided by the staff.
