Welcome to Rosedale.

Located in the historical village of Catterick, 3 miles south of Richmond, Rosedale Care and Nursing Home is a historic stone-built detached house which was previously a Vicarage when the garrison town of Richmond Camp was formed in 1914 and renamed Catterick Camp in 1915 before becoming Catterick Garrison in 1973. The camp had 6 – 7 churches and the Vicarage was built as a home for the Archpriest of Catterick Camp.

The home was first opened as a retirement home in 1985 and the Hollies wing was added to the home in 1996 and the Lodge was built in 1998. The home was acquired by Maria Mallaband Care Group in July 2005. The home has retained must of the original character including the extensive grounds and woodland including onsite car park and is also accessible on the bus route to Catterick Camp which is 0.4 miles away from the home which is serviced by the X26 and Max X27 bus.

The main house is a two storey building known as the Brambles which houses residential and nursing residents and leads into the Hollies extension where people living with dementia reside. The Lodge is a two storey building for residential residents with outdoor, secure garden patio with raised planters for residents to plant and enjoy flowers all year round.

The coffee shop for the home is located in the Brambles where hot drinks are available for complimentary refreshments along with two lounges and a dining room. The Hollies and Lodge also have a dining room and lounge. All bedrooms are fully furnished and ensuite.

The home has a dedicated lifestyle/activities coordinator on site and residents enjoy activities in and out of the home.

With a 5 star award in Food Hygiene at the home and the belief that food is a huge aspect of care at Rosedale, residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley.

We are always welcomed and staff are happy to see us. I can ask the staff anything, from the cleaners to the manager, they are all good. My husband is very settled here and very happy. He never asks to come home. He is very content and happy too be looked after at Rosedale.

Staff always ring me and

keep me informed of any changes or illness with my husband. We are very pleased with my husbands care and the care provided by the staff.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.303) out of 10 for Rosedale Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.621 for Rosedale Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (100 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 140 Ratings = 4.621
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.682 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosedale Nursing Home is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 registered maximum number of service users is 13.6. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.6 = 0.882
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
