Our dad moved into the home at the end of November 2022 and has settled in really well. He has dementia and other health needs and has been looked after really well. All the staff at the home, in all their different roles, are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are all so kind and caring.

They have looked after my cousin with care and gentleness. Weekends are rather quiet. The room has a view of a garden and birds, squirrels (and cats)!

Our dad has only been a resident at Sutton Hall & Sutton Lodge for eight weeks following four months in the hospital. Dad has dementia, and it gives us peace of mind knowing that he is safe and cared for by such kind and patient staff. He has settled in really well, and the staff have been very supportive.
We have visited frequently and have always been warmly welcomed. The home is in a lovely location, and Dad's room has everything that he needs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sutton Hall 7 Sutton Lodge.

My mum stayed here for respite. There were so many faults with this home. Too many different agency staff. We were sold this place when we first visited and it sounded and looked the ideal place. Turned out it wasn't! The pull cord in the shower room broke the first day, which we reported and 4 days
later still wasn't fixed. Mum fell and we were not informed, Mum told us herself. The food was awful. Curried cauliflower soup one day which I tasted and it burnt my throat let alone Mum's. Bins weren't emptied regularly. We asked for a female member of staff to care for Mum's personal needs, but this was totally ignored and young males were used which Mum was devastated by. Buzzers were going off continually whilst we visited Mum and also we could hear them every time we rang her. Communication is almost non-existent. Dementia residents were left with no staff in the dining room. I could go on!

The only good thing about Sutton Hall was the view from the French window. My husband asked for help getting dressed and was refused, he complained about a sore ankle and was ignored, which turned into an infected abscess and is still needing treatment two months on, and the report says it could be
up to two years before it heals.
The food was poor and a lot of the time cold.
Dementia patients wandered into his room at night, so they locked my husband in - very dangerous.
Some of the staff were ok, but management was poor.

I was beginning to think that Sutton Lodge was finally getting to grips with my husband's care, but how wrong was I.
My husband passed away suddenly on 26th October 2022 after just three days of illness.
Day one - management sent for a GP but did not attend, diagnosed over the phone with a chest infection,
antibiotics issued, but still not received the late evening, why didn't management chase them up?
Day two - A GP called again and actually attended, but by this time, he was very ill.
Day three - management was very attentive and couldn't do enough, and my husband was comfortable but passed away that evening, Wednesday 26th October 2022.
I want answers from management as to why I was not told he had had a bad reaction to being given the Covid Booster and the Flu injection together. Why were his belongings not itemised, items missing etc.
Why have I not heard a word from management since the day he passed - how caring is that.

My mum came to Sutton Hall & Sutton Lodge in August 2022 from another nursing home where she had, in my opinion, not been cared for, resulting in a decline in her health. Since moving, she is eating and drinking, which she was not doing and has put weight on and is looking much healthier. They have
worked with her, and she is now going to the day room and joining in the activities.

Mum has dementia and was living very remotely before arriving at Sutton Lodge. Staff have worked tirelessly to accommodate her, and she has settled so well. Some behaviours have been hard work, but the staff and management have been nothing but kind and supportive. I've been in many care homes through

I'm happy with my mum generally at Sutton. However, there are a few niggly things which would be good to iron out. All staff are very helpful. Mum's room doesn't seem very clean most weeks, and her washing doesn't get done as regularly as I would expect.

Post-Covid lockdowns, the home is working extremely hard to recover and is managing to provide greatly appreciated care to Mum. The staff are excellent. Mum's condition can be very difficult at times, but she is well cared for.

Things are improving since my mother first arrived back in April, but a long way to go before I am happy for my mother's well-being in health and cleanliness, physically and in clothing. More staff is required to a level of one carer to two or three residents. The food is ok, could be much better, and

What an enlightening experience; Mum visited Sutton Hall for respite care whilst myself and my husband had a long-needed holiday.
Mum was extremely anxious and didn't want to go, but immediately upon arrival, we were both welcomed, put at ease and had everything explained to us. On previous respite
visits to another care home in the area, Mum has stayed in her room and has not been willing to participate in social activities.
However, at Sutton Hall, she was gently encouraged to go to the lounge immediately, and during her stay there, she has enjoyed multiple activities, including a Queens Jubilee Party and bingo to mention but a few.
We received a positive update from the management to reassure us that Mum had settled in well and was chatting with other residents. This was lovely to hear as she is housebound and does not leave her bedroom at home (she lives with us).
She is happy to return, which gives us peace of mind about taking another holiday this year (we were waiting 3 years for this one!).

I have been visiting my relation for over six years since she came to Sutton Hall. I was very pleased with the care she received for a number of years. Then, the management of the home changed, and since then, and Covid, the carers have been overworked, underpaid and are not always giving the proper
care. My relative's treatment eg, answering her bell to be taken to the toilet etc, has been unsatisfactory. I realise that staff are under a lot of pressure. I think the management needs to take a more active part.

I moved my mum from a previous care home into Sutton Hall & Lodge on the recommendation of a friend. It’s proved to be a fantastic decision. All the staff are all pleasant, caring and attentive. They’ve kept me informed of the changing procedures for visiting during the pandemic, and I have no hesitation
in recommending Sutton Hall & Lodge if you are thinking of a care home for a family member.

To all the staff at Burlington care, I would like to personally thank the team who looked after my father. Although it was a dreadful time to be in the care home because of the crewel lockdown you tried your best to comfort him and make his stay a nice one, those few who went above and beyond their
roles to keep him amused. In these bad times, the staff will forever be in our hearts and his. We are going through a very difficult time but I’m sure it will ease with time. Thank you and every best wish.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

I began my career as a Registered Manager in 2014, achieving a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care within one year, and I have never looked back!


I have enjoyed many varied positions over the years including Turnaround Manager, Regional Manager, Operations Manager, and Commissioning Manager, BUT I am always drawn back to the position of Registered Manager.


Delivery of quality and high standards of care for the people we support is what drives my passion. There is nothing more rewarding than making a difference in a person’s life, and seeing people thrive and enjoy their home and friendship groups. Of course, this cannot be achieved without a team that shares the same values and ethos as I and at Sutton Hall & Lodge. I have just that! A great team that gives their all day in and day out.


I have four adult children and two grandchildren who I love dearly, as well as an elderly cat who prefers the quiet life these days. My ideal weekend is comfy clothes, a tube of Pringles and settling down with the laptop to write a care plan or two or complete a month-end analysis. If loving your job qualifies you as a workaholic, then yes, I am one for sure…


I have an ‘open door’ approach so, if you don’t see me out and about mingling with people, please do pop by and say ‘Hello!’
