A pleasant and caring home for my mum (who is 99 in June). Helpful and thoughtful staff, cannot praise them enough. I also have a distant relative who is a resident who I also visit - hopefully, sooner or later when this virus is finally over.

We have been happy all the time, the manager is always there for a chat and nurses as well. It has been 106 days since mam has been in lockdown 13th March - 26th June, I've been to see mam 3 timed. They let me know any change in mam and I have done a lockdown book of every day as we see mam every day
usually, six of us visit. She has been well looked after with us not being there so thank you to all the staff.

My husband has been in South Park Care Home for over 2 years, where he has been cared for with cheerfulness and compassion. Up until March this year I visited my husband every day and always felt welcome and could discuss any issues with staff. I have recommended the home to one of my neighbours when
her mother needed care and she was also pleased with the care.

My Mum has been in South Park since July of 2019. My Mum has always been treated with kindness and respect and so have I. The staff have always been available if I have had any concerns or queries and have always kept me informed about the status of Mum's health. During this Covid Crisis, I have been
able to keep in touch with Mum via telephone calls and sending messages. I feel that the staff and Carers at South Park are doing an amazing job under the most difficult circumstances. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking each and every one of them for all they do for Mum.

During the 8 months my husband was in South Park I visited almost every day so was able to observe the quality of care the residents received. I was impressed by the patience and high standard of care the staff showed and always kind and considerate. I cannot praise enough the nurses and carers who
looked after my husband when he died. They made his passing peaceful and painless showing kindness towards him and family. Thank you South Park staff.

There are no activities with residents, not value for money. The quality of food is disgusting, like party food sandwiches. No management due to staff leaving - who's the manager?
Don't do hourly checks as stated. The dining area hardly ever gets used, only used when professional visitors are coming.
Rooms very outdated and poor air quality. Also, the lifts are outdated and too small, it's a tight squeeze with a wheelchair. Outdated!

My husband is ok there. He likes to go into the garden. Every carer is nice they all talk to me and are very friendly which is good. I think overall the care home is nice. The entertainment staff are very nice.

Food choices could be better.
Heating could be adjustable more easily. Experienced problems with hot running water sometimes just cold water available.

My Dad was happy here.
We were always made welcome, on the floor my Dad stayed on and in the dining area and garden.
The residents and staff always complimented about the good behaviour of my children when visiting.
My Dad made us all aware of how great the staff and the home were to him.
He became
accepting that this was going to be his forever place.

My father, who suffered from advanced dementia, was transferred from a Residential Care Home which was excellent but they could no longer cope with my father's deteriorating condition. This involved, severe cognitive difficulties and so he was taken in by the Dementia Unit at South Park in February,
where he received exceptional care right up until his death 3 months later.


I was so impressed with the degree of care and compassion, applied with dignity and I also thought the room and facilities were excellent. Dad was treated with kindness and respect at all times and the dutiful care from all the team, including assistants, administration, orderlies, activity organisers and nurses, all of whom, were fantastic.


I would, however, wish to make a particularly special mention for two of the senior nurses who were on duty throughout my father's final few 'dying days,' as well as their team of carers. It brings a tear to my eye how good the care was that he and we, as the 'soon-to-be-bereaved family' received.

From when mum arrived at South Park until she passed away. All the staff were welcoming, caring and very helpful. She could not have been in a better place.
Nothing was too much trouble for the nurses and care assistants who went out of their way to make mum's final days at comfortable as possible.

I am very impressed by the standard of care that my husband receives. The staff are very caring, good humoured and responsive to the needs of the residents. The home is clean and has a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

I get to spend time with so many interesting people, with so many incredible stories to tell about the lives they have lead and the city we all love. I leave this building with a smile on my face every afternoon knowing we have made a difference to someone’s day no matter how big or small that may have been.
When I am not at work you will find me walking my dog Frank on the moor. I am a fan of football, video games ,history and music so I have always got plenty to talk about.
