Visited my mum today, absolutely disgusted, moved her rooms without any input from family. She has been shoved into a poky awful room with furniture I wouldn't give to the homeless, dangerous screws hanging from the drawers when opened, the non-used TV fell off and just missed my mum in her wheelchair
when I opened the draw, her clothes were just squashed into and thrown into the wardrobe that also does not close and along with men's clothing and underpants? They probably haven't done a risk assessment for my mum or their staff, no room for staff to use a hoist without putting my mum at risk or themselves. My mum has Dementia and I feel she has been treated like a homeless dog, no dignity or care at all. Along with making complaints about her soiled clothes a while back and her hygiene, I feel I have no other choice but to remove her from this badly run nursing home that shows no respect for residents or family. A very saddened and heavy hearted family member.

We are so sorry that the family member had a bad experience at the outset of the resident joining us. Following changes to the condition and support needed, our assessments were updated to reflect these changes in the resident’s needs. As a result the room allocated was deemed unsuitable to ensure the care delivery is
provided in a safely. The resident's next of kin was consulted but unfortunately, whilst staff made all attempts to contact, other family members were not advised and this has resulted in this issue. The home manager has since met with the family of the
resident who have now accepted that a suitable room was provided with positive outcomes. The safety and wellbeing of our residents always remain a high priority.

My wife is a resident here and a couple of weeks back it was our wedding anniversary.
I would just like to thank everybody at the home, management and staff for the lovely day
they gave my wife, they went above and beyond. Also thanks for the beautiful cake they provided.

Extremely poorly run care home. My sister was a resident here for 18 months or so. At first she was receiving outstanding care, but then once management changed her level of care was extremely poor causing her to be hospitalised on two occasions. Management is not willing to take any responsibility
for this. Thankfully we have moved her to a better care setting. However, we do still have a police matter ongoing with Craigielea due to gifts of hers going missing. There are many care staff here who will go above and beyond but unfortunately, management and a few others are giving the place a bad reputation.

We acknowledge specific issues around the perceived care in this instance. Whilst we are unable to comment on a specific police matter needless to say we had referred this matter to all external agencies concerned. Far from not taking any responsibility we have already acted and continue to do so. The complex care needs of the Resident concerned were and always would be our main priority and were so in these instances. Clearly we are disappointed in the perception of care by this family but, at the same time, are grateful that there is recognition that many care staff go above and beyond as they do. It is very understandable to us that when there are issues that families feel are not being addressed then they seek to lay blame somewhere. The management of the home is robust and continues to be so.

My father was diagnosed with dementia and unfortunately had to move into care. He is now staying at Craigielea Community Nursing Home, Renfrew.
The staff are excellent with him and really treat him like one of their family. In this difficult time, they have gone above and beyond expectations.

Very happy with the care home, exceptional service and more importantly, amazing, positive care given to my family member. I would highly recommend this care home to family and friends. The carers have been fabulous with my mam from her first going in 4 years ago. We know if she hadn’t been there we wouldn't have had her for as long as we did after our dad passed away.
Her health deteriorated these last 6 months and she was looked after really well. We could see her in the window
and then the pod.
Sadly though we didn’t see her in the last week of her life. We couldn’t go to her window and she was too ill to come to the pod. This will be our biggest complaint about the home, the manager wouldn’t budge. Looking through her window would’ve been enough for us.

My aunt lives in Craigielea. Although we are unable to visit due to the Covid lockdown, we are told to continue window visits. Management and staff are very helpful and supportive, keep us up to date with all changes. My aunt is very happy living here. I know she is in the best place. Sincere thanks
go out to all the team and management. Rooms viewed by pictures and Facetime, which helped us to know they go that extra mile to help make decisions.

The first impression was like entering a hotel lobby, clean, friendly and luxurious. Bringing mum here was like the polar opposite from where she had just been. After a good few years here now I can honestly say that every single member of staff is professional, caring, and goes out of their way for
people. The two managers I have encountered are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for them, they put the residents first and offer a great range of activities and meal choice. The bedrooms and lounge areas are spacious clean and tidy. I feel like a member of the family when I call here as everyone is on first name terms, they are informative and friendly. The change in mum from her arrival to today is huge and that is down to the amazing and honest care she has received. During this dreadful pandemic, the manager has kept contact and information flowing to all families, we have had appointments to see (socially distanced) our loved ones, or telephone chatting through a screen. Thank you!

After six years of my mother being a resident, I have seen four managers. I have complained many times and nothing gets done. After being told off by the operations manager and general manager, I produced the acknowledgement letter from the deputy manager of my complaint as evidence and then things
were different. I know things were hard with lockdown but give credit due, you were able to Facetime. I'm writing this report because I was getting false information off the manager and after numerous emails, he gave me a notice of 28 days to move my mother who had mental health issues. I moved her to another home and she's happy. For a manager of a care home, he mustn't think of his residents. My mum loved the carers, he never thought about her and I don't want other relatives to go what I went through. I was very grateful for the staff seeing her off but didn't like the fact the manager came and was smiling when she left. That was downright nasty when he wanted her out, from my point of view.

We are sad to read such a review as clearly as far as this family were concerned we did not get things right. We would add that we did work hard to meet their expectations and whilst the Resident herself was very happy with her care the family were not. Our staff worked hard to act in a way the family wanted but again, they were unable to satisfy them. It was clear that we would not be unable to meet their expectations and it was the right thing for the resident to move to a new provider. Proper notice of 3 months was provided and indeed a place was found before the notice period was up and we accepted that. We are delighted that the resident has settled in and all appears to be fine and we wish them all well in these troubled times.

My Father had been a resident in Cragielea care home over the last 18 months up until he sadly passed away on March 21st 2020. In that time he was in the home I can honestly say it was one of the happiest times of his life, down to the fact of the professionalism of the carers and staff employed there.
The carers were especially professional in all aspects of the care my father had on a daily basis and in all the time he spent in the home. I visited twice a week in all the time he was there and no matter what time or day of the week you visited, there was never one problem that I incurred in relation to his well being. I cannot thank the carers enough for the care my dad received right up until he passed away and I will always be thankful for their support which made it easier for my mother and family in a really difficult time upon his passing. Once again you are a credit to your profession keep up the good work in these difficult times.

The older carers and some of the younger ones are very good. But some of the younger carers are not good. They are casual and offhand and inclined to treat residents who are questioning them like naughty children.

The staff were very caring, friendly and funny throughout my mother's stay. They have totally changed my father's opinion of care homes. They welcomed him and helped him cope, which was also very important. The 'Lady's Days' was magnificent and enabled my mam to have a dance with my sister. In the last
few hours, my mam was never left to be alone, which was comforting.
All the staff were excellent and a big thank you to one care assistant in particular.

My grandma is happy at this home, we feel content with her care by staff as the carers and nurses work extremely hard every day for the residents and this does show. I did have an issue that I raised with someone higher than care staff but never heard any word back, I brought it up with care staff and
it was handled immediately so cannot fault the girls one bit, they're amazing !! Love the decor (rooms look like houses which is nice) and the weekly activities which my grandma enjoys participating and so do we if we are visiting.

Since residing in the home my brother has settled well. I am very pleased with standards kept. Staff are lovely and friendly, helpful with any queries the family might have. The food is wonderful and he is well fed. He is kept clean and tidy. His clothes laundered well and any medical conditions are
dealt with speed. His room and ensuite are kept to a high standard and is well located with a lovely outlook. All in all pleased with 5-star care.

My mother in Law is 104 years old today! The staff at Craigielea have pulled all the stops out for her birthday including balloons galore, a speciality card and flowers and a singer in the lounge. They all treat her well with respect and love. We live away and know she is cared for well when we are
not here. We trust Craigielea to care for a very precious lady.

I am a registered mental health nurse and have been since 2015, I have worked both in NHS and adult social care since qualifying. I have been at Craigielea since 2019, starting as a nurse, and then promoted to deputy manager. In December 2023 I was promoted to Home Manager.
