Our mam was in a couple of other homes prior to being moved to Kenton Manor. The difference in her is wonderful to see, she is way more settled. This is all down to the staff, the way they are meeting her needs is great. It has been a journey for our family seeing our mam the way she is. The staff have
been brilliant in getting her settled which has put our minds very much at ease.

Craigielea is an excellent care home. Staff are friendly, hard working , professional and caring. My mother, an advanced Alzheimer's patient, is really well looked after. In addition to her basic needs, my mother is encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities which she enjoys.

My aunt is currently a resident here and I'm very pleased with the care she receives. The staff are attentive, kind and genuinely compassionate. Whenever I've requested something to be done, such as toenail cutting or changing her flooring, they have always acted promptly. The home is run by a very
good manager who is attentive and ensures the staff are well supported. It gives me peace of mind knowing she is safe and well cared for.

Mum moved here after her last care home could no longer cope with her worsening dementia. We were very upset about her having to move but as soon as we viewed Kenton Manor we knew this was the place for her. She has been there for 3 months now and is so happy and settled. She settled in immediately
and loved her room. Mum has very complex needs but is a happy soul and the staff are so good at dealing with her when she becomes agitated. Mum has lots of freedom to roam on her floor which she enjoys as she is very curious and aware of her surroundings. We are allowed to take her on both of the other floors which she always enjoys and the residents cafe on the ground floor is just like a regular cafe. It has a coffee machine and tea and coffee facilities and access to the huge gardens. We are really happy she lives there all the staff have been fantastic and always greet her when she's passes and are always available to answer our questions and help with anything. Very caring people.

I find all staff very friendly in a professional way. All are very approachable, no matter how busy. When residents needs clash they are managed in order of priority. Cinema room is an excellent break from daily routine for residents who enjoy films. I velieve this activity could be utilised more. Perhaps
a weekly film night could be introduced. The laundry system works well, and residents neat and tidy each day.
Reply from Sarah Johnson, Home Manager at Craigielea Community Nursing HomeThank you very much for your comments. I will ensure to pass this over to the staff. I am pleased you have had a good experience and I will ensure to look into organising a weekly film night.

A lovely mixed programme of Christmas activities was arranged for residents. My mother is reluctant to join in groups, but she really enjoyed the pantomime. We were able to join my mother for lunch on Christmas Day, and staff made us feel very welcome. It is so reassuring to see my mother settling into
Kenton Manor and being so well cared for. The regular communication updates from staff are really appreciated.

I visit Heather on a weekly basis. She is mainly in her room by herself. She seldomly sits in the lounge with fellow residents. More interaction would be beneficial for Heather with staff, fellow residents. I visited Heather on one occasion - it was around tea time - Tea!! A hot dog in a finger bread
roll with some onions on top! Absolutely shocking!! It is not good enough. I told her sister about this tea etc she is aware of situation.
Reply from Sarah Johnson, Home Manager at Craigielea Community Nursing HomeI am very sorry you feel this way. In regard to the resident wishing to spend time in her room, this has previously been discussed and I am of course happy to discuss this again with yourself alongside family members. All residents have the choice of different options from the menu and they can choose to eat what they would like. Other options can also be made for them if they prefer. We do promote individual choices and encourage individuals to spend their time how they would wish. As stated I am happy and willing to discuss this in person with all involved.

My mum has been in Craigielea for almost 6mth. I cannot fault the care she has received. Every single member of staff are aware of who she is and what her needs are. My mum has been unwell during her stay and has had the best care and onging care to her changing needs. The communication I receive from
her senior carer is fantastic. I can honestly say my mum is treated like a member of their family and brings me such relief knowing she is in a safe, caring and loving home.

I absolutely cannot fault the care this establishment provides to my uncle. He is very well cared for, even though he is hostile to the thought of being in care and unable to gain his mobility back, he knows the staff are trying their very best and he is thankful, as are his family. God bless you for
your help & support.
