My wife had advanced dementia (early onset) and was resident in Kenton Manor for 11 weeks until her death on 19th April. The care for my wife was exceptional. Full of love, dedication, commitment and expertise. From the domestic staff to nursing staff and management the shared dedicated to ensuring
my wife felt safe, loved, cared for and given the utmost dignity and respect was 100% evident. I can't thank staff enough for helping me endure the last few days where the experience and expertise and empathy of nursing and care staff were just amazing. My wife has serious difficulties of mobility, cognition, personal care and communication for my wife staff always treat her with the utmost respect and patience. Thank you.

My mum became a resident from February this year after a short illness in hospital. Mum is a very anxious lady and from being ill lost her ability to walk and lost her memory. The staff have been amazing in the last five months she has gained a stone and her confidence with staff assistance is improving.
My mum loves the staff and especially has a great rapport with the nursing team. As a family we have been treated with respect and support during this emotional and devastating period of our mum's health. Mum never leaves her room as this is her wish, her meals are served in her room throughout the day to make her day less stressful. I can only thank all of the team from management, friendly reception, exceptional nursing team and carers and to the cleaning staff who chat to mum each day. Also a thank you to the handyman who my sister and I have asked on numerous occasions to hang pictures up etc to make her room feel like home.

On the whole, very good. I feel there isn't enough interaction between staff and residents. My husband is quite talkative and would benefit from a conversation now and again. I don't think that watching television all day is good for anyone. Most residents don't understand what they are watching.

The staff on duty work really hard, but very often there are not enough present in the lounge to take my mother to the bathroom. This can make things difficult for her as she then needs to use her pad, which she is reluctant to do. There has been a missing ceiling tile and a stained ceiling tile in
Mum's room for a number of weeks now. These are my main 'niggles'. Otherwise, it all runs very smoothly for Mum.

My father has been in Craiglea for over 3 months now and we as a family could not be more happy with his care. All the staff have been fantastic with my father and all of the family when we visit. The genuine sincerity of care for my father has not gone unnoticed, as well as the professionalism of the
staff. We, as a family, would like to thank Craigielea for everything you are doing for my father.

I would just like to say that my husband has had excellent care, support and help since he went into Kenton Hall last November. He has always been clean and well-dressed and his room is always clean and tidy. They always make me, my family and friends very welcome. Always ready to talk about anything
to do with his health, sleep or eating. Many many thanks to all the staff for looking after him for me. A job well done.

My dad is treated with care and respect. All of his needs are met and the staff go out of their way to ensure he is clean, well fed and happy. We couldn't ask for better treatment even though the staff are overworked, it does seem as though more staff are needed. But I must stress that the staff do
an amazing job, my dad loves them all.

I would not hesitate in recommending Ashton Court to anyone wanting first class professional care for their loved ones. Every member of staff from reception through to care, nursing and management are all second to none. The standard of one to one care in particular is exceptional. The Care Assistants
that looked after my mother were well trained, diligent and hard working and also among the most kind and compassionate people I've ever met.

Visit my friend on a regular basis.
Home clean & well decorated, maintained, etc.
I feel my friend needs to be outside in the garden each day, beneficial both for her physical & mental health.
She needs to be amongst fellow residents in the lounge, having her meals in the dining area, etc.
She
needs interaction with other people, outings to the park, coffee shops, etc.

Great concern for all residents on floor 2. Observed horrendous overall care and in particular dementia and end of life care. Some individual caring staff. Staffing levels not adequate. Staff would benefit from education and training. Would welcome opportunity to speak directly with home owner. Concerns

Enjoyed the review very helpful, as it is my first meeting with Craigielea, as my sister has only been there for a short time. She has settled very well, she told me she loves it there. The staff are excellent with her, she has dystonia and needs help with everything also feeding etc also affects her
speech. I am very happy with Craigielea.

The staff at my mam's care home go above and beyond their jobs to look after my mam. All of them from the carers, senior carers, to admin staff, cleaners and kitchen staff all do an amazing job. They are all so kind, caring and all round lovely people. I wouldn't want my mam in any other home in the
North East.

The staff from the start have been absolutely fantastic. They are so professional and efficient its unbelievable. My dad was as thought close to death. But with their help and professionalism he is now like a new person only two weeks later. We could not be happier and are very grateful. He is eating

I have completed this alongside my Uncle who is a resident since Dec 24. He was extremely dismissive of needing care, albeit living at home was not meeting his personal care at all even with 4 visits per day with carers. He was gently shown that he was in a safe, healthy and happy environment. I am
over the mon he is accepting of being a permanent resident now. His emotional and physical needs are met to a high standard.
