My husband went into Briardene on 18th may he was there for 4 nights, it was supposed to be 2 weeks but I cut short his stay as he was put on the first floor (the manageress had went by the information given by social worker from the hospital) it was not the floor my husband should have been on. Yes he has Parkinsons and dementia but he does not present the way the residents on that floor do. If he had went on the ground floor I may have let him stay. Having said all that I do think I would choose Briardene again for respite.

Our Mum lived at Briardene from June 2025 until her passing in January 2026. She was transferred there from another home due to increased needs. The experience at Briardene was fantastic, and far better in every way than the previous home. Every single member of staff was friendly, approachable and cared for our Mum with kindness and dignity. The end of life period was prolonged and difficult to witness, but the staff maintained their empathetic approach throughout. On the day of death everyone was incredibly professional yet compassionate. The facilities are comfortable, clean and welcoming. I cannot rate this home highly enough and I'll be forever grateful to all of the staff there.

Lovely place, staff look after my mum very well. One member of staff, in particular, is really nice (she cleans my mums room).
Her room is lovely and kept very clean. My mum says "All the staff are nice. They treat you well and don't laugh at you".

They treat everyone with respect & dignity.

As a family we thought we were doing our best to keep mum at home for as long as as we could. In reality this wasn't the case as our mum has thrived in the home. She feels safe, is well looked after and loves the company of other residents, staff members and loves joining in with all the activities especially the singing and dancing afternoons.

We also take her out for lunches and long drives so she still has freedom but has 24 hr hour care.

My husband recently moved into this nursing home, and we are very happy with our choice. The staff here is absolutely wonderful - attentive, friendly, and truly caring towards each resident. The facilities are very clean and tidy, and it's clear that maintaining comfort and order is a priority here. It's a relief and a joy to see that my husband is in good hands. Thank you to the entire team for your hard work.

The carers at Briardene are all very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. They have been excellent with my father and built up a great rapore with him. He seems very settled now and on a whole seems happy I put this down to the care he is getting at Briardene.

All the staff I have met are absolutely lovely I hold them all in high regard. They have strong sense of care and empathy even when rushed off their feet. I had no sense of care homes until I came to live here and have been totally amazed. I am quite happy here.

On the day my Uncle died, staff "forgot" to inform his GP and for 2 whole weeks because of this his death wasn't able to be registered. I expected the manager to write or ring me to apologise for this horrendous error but she never once tried to contact me. A week later i rang the home to be told the manager was in a meeting and would I speak to someone else. I said no thank you I would like to talk to her. The staff member told her what I had said so she sent a message back saying she would ring me after the meeting. To this day and its now weeks later she has not contacted me! To be manager of a "care" home and lack any conscience or compassion just beggars belief. Sorry Briardene, I sang your praises until this happened!

We would like to say thank you to all the staff at Briardene Care Home who looked after our dad for the last twenty-one months, carers, cleaners, laundry, catering, nurses, manager and admin. The care has been exceptional, giving the highest quality of care and consideration throughout. We couldn't have asked for anything more, staff's work has been outstanding.
We also appreciate the care and consideration given to our mam whilst she has visited weekly.

The care at the end of Dad's life was professional and dedicated. Thank you.

From the first step though the door, you are welcome. First impression is the key, I found it clean, no smells, and a highly motivated team of domestic engineers, hail the cleaners, I see them as big assets, apart from their duties they mingle well with the residents and nothing is a problem. Nursing staff all on their game. 100% given all the time, even when under pressure. Mangerment always open, any questions are answered. My review consists over a 4-month period and my visits have varied from different times, I can’t fault the staff or the home. Briardene is a top place, anyone wishing to place a loved one in there will not be disappointed. Just one thing, getting 'Good' from CQC. I think they need a wake-up call, I have been in other care homes and they don’t come up to scratch and are given 'Good'.

Another visit to see my mam, this has been her home for over 6 years. The hairdresser was doing my mam's hair when I arrived. Lovely homely feel to the home with the smell of home cooking! All areas are bright, clean and most importantly, the service users are well cared for by the amazing care team. Not forgetting the cooks, maintenance man and domestics.
The manager has made some positive changes and has had a very positive impact on the home, she is very approachable and listens to any suggestions you may have.
A timetable is displayed in the home to show what’s on and when. Entertainers and activities are on most days.

I am so thankful that my mam is so well cared for and would definitely recommend Briardene.
