Helpful staff who try to understand the limitations and needs, however not sufficient numbers of staff.


Quality of food needs to improve.


Amount of paperwork required to be completed by staff limits the quality time needed to spend with the residents.

My father was in another home before moving into Kenton Manor in September 2017. The standard of care and accommodation in Kenton Manor is much better than the previous home. In particular, the staff and management are better. My only criticisms are that the heating in my father's room did not work
properly for the first few months. He has now moved into a warmer room at my request. Two weeks ago he fell in his room and cut his head on the corner of the wardrobe.

Mum has been at Kenton Manor for 7 years and as a family, we could not be happier with the care and service that she has received from the staff they've been brilliant to her from day one. Although she can't say so but mum is happy there.

I can't recommend Kenton Manor highly enough. My Mother-in-law has been a resident there for the last few years as she suffers from early-onset Alzheimer's. The care she receives is exceptional and specific knowledge of her condition is superb. I am constantly amazed by the number and variety of activities
that Kenton Manor puts on to keep her busy and active... from chairobics to visiting singers, painting to reminiscence classes. Kenton Manor is clean and well maintained with excellent facilities. The food is of a very high standard and is all prepared on site. The thing that makes Kenton Manor stand out from many others that we looked at is the staff. They genuinely seem to care for the residents and go way beyond their job description on many occasions. You can tell how much they care when they regularly attend functions and events to raise money for resident trips on their day's off, spending their own money to go towards trips and facilities. I highly recommend Kenton Manor.

My mother is a dementia sufferer. I am hippy with the care that is provided for my mother. The staff know her very well and treat her accordingly, especially two staff members who also worked at my mothers former care home.
I do take notice of what's going on around me when I visit and the staff are
very hard working, caring people. They know their residents and show concern and good knowledge of the individual. I could not do this job and have great admiration for those that do.

I cannot speak too highly of Kenton Manor. It is very clean, beautifully-appointed with lovely well-kept gardens, most efficiently managed and has staff who stay long-term: a good indicator of things being 'right'.
Most importantly, the care given to my 100 year old Mother over the last 4 years,
has been exceptional. She was consistently treated with such kindness (and resilience!) by staff who seemed able to see the bright, fun-loving lady beyond the anxious, confused, challenging person dementia gradually changed her into. Her spiritual, emotional and physical needs were all attended to by staff who also listened and responded patiently and effectively to any of our family's queries.
Her passing was so peaceful, not least due to the compassion of those staff. They do a most difficult job and in my opinion, are not valued enough by the powers- that- be. I cannot thank them enough, nor praise them too highly. Thank you all at Kenton Manor.

My mother was resident at Kenton Manor for three and a half years before passing away there in January. The care she received over the entire length of her stay was exemplary. Suffering from Alzheimers and confined to a wheelchair she was vulnerable and required both social and personal care which was
always provided to a very high standard and with the greatest of consideration by all of the staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone else requiring similar care and support and was very grateful for the care and affection shown to my mother. The professionalism and support provided by the staff enabled my mother to remain in the environment she had become comfortable in during her final days and the support offered to our family during that period helped considerably at a very difficult time.

Whilst my Mam was only in residence for a short time before passing away the staff were absolutely superb in her care. From the day the manager went to see her in hospital to the day she arrived in the home to her passing away she was made welcome and treat with dignity and warmth from all staff.
We can't express how grateful we are in staff making her last days as comfortable as can be possible.


My only regret is Mam couldn't be there longer to feel the warmth and care given by all at Kenton Manor.

As a family we were really pleased with mams move to Kenton Manor.
The staff were outstanding in their love and care they showed, over and above their duty. They made every effort to make her comfortable despite her fiery temper. Laundry never lost her clothes and she was kept very clean.
