Overall Experience
This review is written during the second Covid 19 lockdown. I have never been inside the facilities due to Covid precautions.
Since the middle/late October the staff have facilitated Covid safe visiting via half-hour "window visits" which my mother has enjoyed. Staff have encouraged my mother to participate in communal activities. She has also taken to knitting which she can do "solo" in her room.
The staff have also facilitated FaceTime sessions for my mother with family members who are not local, which has been a great success and has helped with settling my mother.
From what I have been able to observe from window visits cleanliness is very good. New flooring has recently been installed in main areas of the home with plans to extend into bedrooms as and when able. Rooms are kept warm.

Staff respond in a timely fashion to queries/issues raised and liaise with relevant family members.

My wife was in the Eden Court rehabilitation section of Wheatfield Court. This Akari/NHS facility proved perfect for the recovery from major, open heart surgery at the hospital. The staff were so cheerful and friendly. The food was absolutely excellent and essential to build up strength. I feel we were so lucky to have access to a facility that combined the best in personal care, food and activities, with medical and physio provided by the NHS.

My husband was admitted to Wheatfield Court at the end of September. He was there for 6 days before being admitted into hospital where he remained for a week. He then returned to Wheatfield Court for end of life care and died 2 days later on October 4th. The care he had was amazing even though it was not for long - the family were also cared for by all staff, we felt as though they were our friends. I cannot praise them enough - all so well run too.

My darling mum has been a resident for 4 years and during this time, she has become immobile, not being able to stand up from her wheelchair or use the hoist and her dementia has advanced.
As an ex-nurse, I found this very difficult, however, the staff at Wheatfield Court have been really helpful understanding when I got upset and they treat mum very well.

I know she is safe and well cared for which is very reassuring.

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of care and the food in Eden Court. It combines excellent NHS rehab (after major surgery) with excellent Akari personel care. The staff all have a very cheerful disposition, which is a real help.

The care taken of my mother in law was exemplary. The compassion was shown to me (telephone) and her granddaughter (in a quiet place) was superb. Only sorry her stay would not be longer!

My stay at Eden Court was very good. Food good and varied. Staff caring and friendly. My only criticism - not enough staff to cope with the varied tasks they have to perform. Definitely need more!

This Nursing Home is amazing, the care of staff towards the residents is completely outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble. Friendly and welcoming reception. Clean, light and airy. Very clean and always smells fresh. The staff receive very good training and the Manager has an open door policy for staff and relatives. There is always activities going on either within the Home or trips out to local venues of interest to the Residents. Would highly recommend anyone to view this Home if requiring a Home for their loved one.

I would just like to thank all of the staff here. My uncle has been in their care for 17 months. He went in as end of life. They picked him up persevered with his eating habits which was hard. They all made him part of a family in there. We could always leave after visiting and know he would be fine. I really cannot thank you, lasses, enough. He passed away on the 5th February 2018.
