The staff are caring and attentive. I appreciate that they acknowledge and respond to my mother's interests and wishes. Any requests (/and repairs) are dealt with quickly and efficiently. I also like that I can tell there is always an effort to improve things in the care home rather than simply maintain the status quo. Overall, I am impressed with Barnes Court Care Centre and recommend it when people ask about the place.

Overall Experience
I couldn't recommend Barnes Court highly enough for the care they have given our Grandad and his dementia. We needed urgent care, and the management team were incredible. Within 24 hours everything was arranged and a bed was ready, which gave our family huge reassurance.
We were worried about how he would settle, as he is very active and needs constant stimulation, but the staff have been absolutely brilliant with him. Before moving in, he rarely ate full meals and refused to shower. Within days, he was eating three full meals a day and showering regularly, which shows the experience and dedication of the team.
We were also concerned about losing contact, but we're encouraged to call anytime and we always receive detailed updates from all members of staff we speak to, which is very reassuring. We know he is safe, cared for, and in the best hands.

I cannot recommend Barnes Court's management and staff enough!

My mother has been in residence for just over 1yrs there were several issues early on. I now feel very comfortable with her situation. The home is now a pleasant, comfortable and moreover safe place that is the closest to home as its ever been. The staff and management are approachable and responsive and care now seems to be the main thing.

Lovely facility, my father is always well cared for, clean, well fed and happy. Staff are amazing with him and I take comfort knowing he is safe, well cared for and valued. Some amenities could do with updating and more cleaning staff would help. Better external facilities would benefit visits some redecoration has started but not completed.

Overall Experience
Since my husband was transferred from hospital to Barnes Court I have felt he is receiving the care he needs. He settled in quite well and seems to be comfortable. The staff have been very warm and re-assuring, they are always attentive and do what they can to meet his needs. From carers, domestics and admin to senior management they have at times gone above and beyond what is asked of them. The meals I have seen look appetising and my husband says he is enjoying them. There always seems to be a cleaner continuously working throughout the day and have come to the rescue several times when needed!
When my husband first arrived he wanted to stay in bed all day but the staff have gradually got him up and integrated with other residents in the lounge and now he really enjoys it.

Overall the home has a welcoming and positive atmosphere and I would definitely recommend it.

Overall, very happy with the home and care my mother is receiving. All staff are very attentive and caring, and my mother is very happy in her surroundings. She has a good, spacious room and is very well fed. The home is very clean and tidy, and all my mother's needs are well catered for.

Basic care is ok, it's the small things that get missed, i.e. false teeth not in, no glasses on, hair brushed, teeth not cleaned. Often short-staffed, so care is unable to be given to the standard the staff want to.

The manager has been helpful and tries her best to have time to talk if we have any questions relating to my aunty.

Always someone around if there are any questions. My aunty is there on a temporary basis until decisions are made but currently, she is quite happy there.

My sister was admitted to Barnes Court Care Centre following a spell in hospital. It was the first time she had stayed away from the family home alone. Due to her mental and physical disabilities, it was very difficult to start trusting others to understand her very special needs. Over a year down the line, my sister is thriving at Barnes Court. She interacts with all the staff and other residents and seems to enjoy her days there. The staff are very caring and attentive and it's a comfort to know nursing staff are at hand 24 hours. Knowing that my sister is settled and happy and in good care is a huge relief.

Since moving into Barnes Court Care Centre, my daughter has settled into her new environment with ease with the brilliant support from the staff and carers. She now has a structured bedtime, now sits at a dining table for meals, has company throughout the day, both with carers and other residents, activities, making cakes and weather permitting, goes out with other residents to the park or coffee shop.

She always looks clean and tidy which I found difficult to do. Her communication with others has also improved as she had very little stimulation on a day-to-day basis. I would recommend Barnes Court 100%.

After visiting my husband every other day since he settled in at Barnes Court Care Centre on 27th February 2024, I feel confident enough to give my opinion of the care system to residents at Barnes Court. I am pleased at the way my husband has settled here and am happy at the way food and activities are handled. The staff are all very respectful and warm-hearted to the residents. I would certainly recommend this care home to anyone needing the support they can give.

It was a very difficult and stressful time when my mam, who has dementia, went into Barnes Court as it was in the middle of the pandemic. We were on lockdown, so I was unable to settle her in, and then later only able to see her under very strict visiting restrictions. From the first moment, the staff were lovely and helpful, under very difficult circumstances. Telephoning me to introduce themselves and reassuring me that my mam was settling in and being well looked after after I got upset because we couldn't see each other.
Nearly 4 years later, the staff are still great. They are warm, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. From the domestics, admin, nurses and manager, they are all approachable.
The nurses have consoled me a few times, when I have been upset after some difficult visits with my mam, which I appreciated.
My mam is always clean and presentable and it puts her family's minds at rest knowing she is safe, well and secure.

I know I will be contacted if she is poorly etc., and will be kept informed of her progress if I am asked not to visit for a few days.

My friend has settled in since early February 2024. Good positive atmosphere from the word go. All staff are helpful and I find them friendly and professional. My friend is adjusting to his situation in a fairly positive manner which is helped by all the staff he comes into contact with. Barnes Court has a welcoming atmosphere with good security and positive communication both face-to-face and over the telephone.

I'm not one who normally posts reviews, however, I feel I need to on this occasion. My father has complex needs and I was very worried about his needs being met and being treated with respect and dignity. I have to praise every single member of staff from the manager, nursing staff, caregivers, kitchen and laundry staff and last but not least, the cleaning staff. I find every single one friendly, open and honest, open to listening to any concerns. There's nothing too small that is not taken seriously and addressed. They show genuine empathy and make the home feel like a home for the residents and the families of the residents when visiting. I would highly recommend Barnes Court.

Since a new management team have taken over, the home has improved a great deal in a short space of time. Things seem to be getting done. Management are a lot more approachable now and involved more with the residents and their families/friends.

I personally feel that the resident's rooms and the communal areas are in dire need of redecorating and modernising.

The staff are excellent. Mother is well cared for, and we have no concerns about her care, safety and well-being. The overall decor in the home could do with some updating, but this is not a priority for us, the level of care is, and that is excellent.
