Since a new management team have taken over, the home has improved a great deal in a short space of time. Things seem to be getting done. Management are a lot more approachable now and involved more with the residents and their families/friends.

I personally feel that the resident's rooms and the communal areas are in dire need of redecorating and modernising.

The staff are excellent. Mother is well cared for, and we have no concerns about her care, safety and well-being. The overall decor in the home could do with some updating, but this is not a priority for us, the level of care is, and that is excellent.

I cannot speak too highly of Barnes Court Care Centre. The building itself is unremarkable and the rooms could perhaps do with an update but there, the negatives end. The staff are what makes the place tick and they are remarkable. Nothing is too much trouble for them from the cleaning staff right through to the floor managers. I have invariably found them pleasant and professional. They have worked hard to make the resident as comfortable as possible and the food is excellent too.

The staff are attentive, personal and caring. Warm reception and patient update on arrival. Access to the garden area in the summer for visitors. Would be a nice place to sit and relax outside with patient during visits. Wifi signal is weak and sometimes prohibits usage could have limited contact further during lockdown. Always clean and tidy, friendly staff and resident is happy and all needs catered for. Thank you.

My son is liked very much and the staff are very good with him. My concern is he does not get out much and I think they could be taken out more.

My daughter was in Barnes Court for over 2 years from January 200 19 until July 2021 and was well looked after. She recently returned to Barnes Court after says in hospital. We found she was well looked after and treated with respect by both management and staff and we are glad to see her settled back in.

Although only able to visit once per week for 30 minutes I find the home clean, tidy, the staff are friendly and the management approachable. I'm not there for meals so I can't comment on these. The rooms are basic. At the moment the home does not have anyone full-time for activities and this is a big miss.

My mother was placed in Barnes Court after a short stay in hospital. After a two month stay which included Christmas and New year, she was allowed to return home. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for the excellent care and attention she received from the staff at Barnes Court she wouldn’t be in the good place she is in now. My mother (91) couldn’t praise the staff and the quality of the food she received highly enough. Her room was maintained to a high standard and the support she received was first class. Abby, Julie, Kate and all carers and support staff on floor 2 are to be commended on their professional approach and I would like to thank them again for the care my mother received.

My mum who has chronic delirium, dementia and Alzheimers has been a resident here for nine weeks now and I am very pleased with the care she is receiving and the care the brilliant staff have shown me. They keep me informed of her wellbeing and act quickly on any concerns that may arise. Mum seems to be enjoying the many activities that are organised, especially singing and the visits of the pet therapy ponies. Keep up the good work and thank you.

On bringing Mum to Barnes Court Care home I have seen a happier mother of late. The staff are very good at dealing with Mum's dementia. The activities are well thought out and bring Mum back to her old way of life. She arrives home tired but that is a positive for all of us. The food is good and Mum tends not to leave anything on her plate, another good point. All in all a good decision by us to place her here.

Sue ClarkJob Title Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Sue Clark and I am the Deputy Manager at Barnes Court.

I have worked for the company for almost 10 years, starting as a Care Assistant, progressing to Care Practitioner and then given the opportunity to progress even further with company support to train as a Nursing Associate at Teesside University. After completing the course I graduated in 2022 and continued as a Registered Nursing Associate, then was offered the job as Deputy Manager in January 2024 which I accepted and continue to be in post, enjoying the day to day running of Barnes Court, the challenges and the positive moments which make my career path worthwhile.
