Mum moved into Astune Rise in June 2023, this was a very emotionally charged move for Mum having lived happily in her old home for 55 years, it was also very emotional and stressful time for her family. The manager and her team could not have done more to make this transition as smooth and supportive
as possible, the empathy, professionalism and dedication shown by the staff is a constant source of reassurance for Mum and us.
Staff are very vigilant, acting immediately when concerns arise regarding changes in Mum’s health and demeanour, they keep me informed of any concerns.
I really appreciate that Astune Rise operates an ‘open visiting’ policy, no appointment needed to visit our family/friends it demonstrates a huge commitment to openness and transparency.
From observations on my frequent visits to Mum I observe a care home providing a welcoming, safe, holistic, person-centred service.

My mother became a resident of Astune Rise in November 2022. She lived in very poor health although her diagnosis can't be cured, her physical and mental health has improved immensely and this is down to the sheer dedication of all the staff, the nursing care is second to none, she has gained weight
due to the lovely food she receives daily. I cannot fault this care home, it has given me and my family more time to spend with Mam, time we truthfully didn't think we had. Thank you Astune Rise you are amazing.

As soon as you enter the home, you feel very welcome. Staff are always smiling and happy to greet you. My dad enjoys the level of care he gets and says the food is excellent. I can always get an update on any health issues of his well-being. All staff are approachable and helpful.

My father was a resident at Astune Rise where he sadly passed away in May with his family with him. Dad had only been in the care home a short time but the manager and all of the staff supported my dad to live the rest of his days comfortably and settled. He would often say he loved the place and the
staff who were brilliant with him ensuring that Dad was included in all the activities even when he was having an unwell/tired day. When it was the King's Coronation and Dad was too frail to get out of bed the manager and staff took the celebrations to him in bed. When my dad became unwell and went into end-of-life care in his final days the staff supported and clearly cared for my dad, not just as a job but because they loved him, they also supported us as a family both practically by offering us endless drinks and snacks and also emotionally. I can truly say this home is amazing as they put the residents first and listen to the residents and families. A truly amazing home with equally amazing staff.

My auntie was fortunate enough to be part of the Astune family for two years. From the moment she arrived, she said she felt safe and well cared for and we both knew it was the right place for her to live. All the team are amazing, enthusiastic and work really hard to provide a caring, fun environment
for all the residents. They go above and beyond to keep the residents engaged and have weekly keep-fit sessions, coffee mornings, and lots of other activities. The manager has a friendly yet professional approach and is always happy to listen to any concerns I may have. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Dad went into Astune Rise initially for two weeks of respite after finding he was struggling on his own at home. He knew a decision would have to be made whether he would stay or return to his home so when the time came a couple of days before his respite was due to end we sat down and asked what he
wanted to do, we were so happy and relieved that he said he wasn’t going anywhere he had been looked after so well by all the staff, that this was the place he wanted to be. It’s great to see him have a much better quality of life, joining in with the activities, he’s been to coffee mornings, Coronation Party and even had afternoon tea while on a river cruise.
All the staff have been brilliant, hard-working and look after all the residents very well. The manager always keeps us informed on how he is doing and we are happy to have peace of mind that he is happy, safe and in good hands.
We would highly recommend this care home and praise all the staff for their wonderful care.

The staff at the care home are caring, loyal and go above and beyond their job role. The manager is always available despite being very busy to listen to concerns and worries. The staff took great care to make sure my mam was comfortable, clean and involved as much as she was able. She was given choices
throughout her time at the home and, as a family, our wishes were listened to and acted on to keep my mam comfortable. I would highly recommend this home.

My mother went into Astune Rise following a short stay in hospital, due to her falling a lot at home, and being unable to care for herself. We left it to my mother to make the decision that she would not be able to return home, as she could not look after herself. It was a difficult time for her and
myself but the staff and management made the transition as easy as possible.
My mother has taken part in a few of the activities and is doing such a lot more than she was doing when in her own bungalow. It is good that they are keeping her walking, rather than just moving her in a wheelchair.
The staff were warm and welcoming from the first day my mother went in.
As a relative, I find that the staff are hardworking and enjoy their jobs, and understand any concerns I may have.
I am very happy that my mother went into Astune Rise and that she is safe and well cared for.
The manager is approachable and always willing to listen to any concerns I may have.

I feel that my dad, who is a resident is in safe hands at Astune Rise and also feel confident that he is receiving a high level of care. He does have quite complex needs but it gives me piece of mind twenty-four hours a day. The staff are very welcoming, caring, jolly, hard-working and treat residents
with dignity and respect at all times. All staff including the manager, are always approachable and happy to help, despite being extremely busy.

My aunt went into Astune Rise for a four-week trial after a series of fractures; in her shoulder and both hips. Previously she had been living independently in her own home. After having been hospitalised and in rehabilitation, she realised she could never go back to her own home. The transition wasn’t
without its challenges for her, but once she got to know the staff and management, she was happy to stay permanently. She feels safe and cared for, and I am so grateful for all the help and understanding of all the staff.

My mother has recently moved into Astune Rise and is very happy and settled. The staff are very good and caring with nothing that is too much for them. The manager is excellent and very approachable. Activities available every day through the activities coordinator from coffee mornings, exercise classes,
entertainment, bingo and much more. A really relaxed atmosphere. Definitely no negatives.

Mam temporarily went into Astune a few years ago for respite and again 20 months ago when mam needed closer support and joined her sister in there. The management and staff looked after mam really well. Mam loved the food in Astune and had a cosy room. She got on really with the carers who looked after
her and was very happy and settled in all the time mam resided in Astune, until her recent passing. The manager and the management team were very good, caring and professional with proactive communications, especially through the challenges of the covid pandemic. They also answered our questions sensitively and with consideration for mam, other residents and indeed ourselves. I found the manager to have a balanced and very pragmatic approach. I would have no hesitation in recommending Astune Rise to others. Thank you to the manager and the rest of the team ever so much in the way you looked after mam. All the best and thank you.

My dad entered Astune Rise in the middle of covid. It took him a while to settle in but with the help and patience of amazing staff and management, he loved it. With weekly activities, parties in the car park, drink flowing, party hats and lovely food. Sing songs from visitors, or just having quiet
time. Nothing is too much trouble. My dad was given excellent care, you could sleep knowing he was cared for with respect and dignity. Astune Rise Care Home is close to a lot of amenities, church, pubs, shops and a bus route. I would like to say a big thank you to the manager and her team for looking after my dad. Keep up the good work.

Mum feels that she is well looked after and the family feel that she is in safe and very caring hands. The care home runs very efficiently and effectively while catering well for her own individual needs. Special events and occasions are celebrated with flair and style, in addition to regular weekly
events, and there is always a very upbeat atmosphere. We are very pleased that we found Astune Rise to take care of Mum.

Chris was a registered general nurse and qualified in 1981. She is the clinical lead at the home and has a vast amount of experience. Chris was employed in March 2018 as a staff nurse and quickly progressed to the clinical lead post in June 2020.
