Mum arrived here on 14/4/26, the staff have been wonderful, Daniel dealt with any issues, no matter how small.
We couldn't be happier with her care.

She has enjoyed some of the daytime activities, I am sure with time she may go on outings too.

Overall Experience

My brother has been in the home for several years and despite another new manager in the last year or so, things haven't improved in my opinion. Today as an example, I've called the home at 2pm to ask for someone to get him up as he is hoisted and has been left in bed until now despite having a care plan that stipulates the time things should happen as things weren't happening as they should. It improved for a while but has since gone back to how it was. We have raised concerns with management about the home smelling of weed but was told it's the residents home and their rights to do as they wish but they asked them to smoke outside of the premises. This means as you enter the car park there are small gatherings of residents and the smell of weed is strong both outside and inside the home. The home offers drug and alcohol rehabilitation but it doesn't feel right to have a care home with vulnerable adults mixing with those smoking weed. Call bells are ignored, wouldn't recommend home.

My brother lived here from early last year until he passed this week.
All we as a family can say is that the manager and his team on orchid suite were fantastic. The care and love my brother got from them was amazing. The support we got as a family was amazing too. The home was always kept clean and if you asked a member of staff for something it was never any bother.

Thank you for making the last month's of my brothers life comfortable.

As a family we were given several choices of care home for when my father was considered fit to leave hospital. On evaluation and first impression, Aster appeared the best fit for my father's short-term needs pending his further assessment.

The cleanliness of the home and attention to detail in the thoroughness of dad's care, through some very difficult moments in recent weeks, has convinced us that we made the right choice for him. We have the confidence that his short, medium and likely long-term future will be with Aster and we are very comfortable with this on his behalf. He has settled in this friendly and supportive environment, which some weeks ago seemed unlikely. Our sincere thanks go to all the team. Their care for dad, communication with us, honesty and warmth has been incredibly reassuring in a time of immeasurable concern.

My elderly dad has been looked after by the team at Aster since mid-March and he is being very well cared for. The staff are superb with him and are very attentive to his needs. The 24/7 care that dad is receiving is also helping to give the family peace of mind as we know that he is in the right setting at this stage of his life. Our thanks to the team at Aster. Your dedication and care for dad is greatly appreciated.

My husband moved here in January and as a young adult needing care It was hard to find the right place. Then aster came along.. and wow they go above and beyond to meet my husbands needs. The activities they have are varied and regular. My husband also has 1-1 support to access the community. They really do cater to all needs. The meals are varied and lovely home cooked he thoroughly enjoys them and gets plenty. If there is something he doesn't like it's no trouble to get something else. All the staff in every area are friendly and caring and always smiling. I can sleep well at night knowing my husband is taken care off and kept safe at all times and more importantly he's happy and calls it home!

Review from Sally M (Cousin of Resident) published on 24 April 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My cousin was in the care home for a few months, she suffered so much in those months - sexually, physically and verbally abused, she was frightened and scared. Often when we arrived to see her she could be heard screaming and no staff were seeing to her or talking to her to try and understand what was wrong, even if they were sat in the lounge area with her.
It was always hard leaving her after a visit.

I have noticed that reviews that are not 'good' on here receive an automated response, is anyone taking any notice ??

In the months that my niece was under their care she was physically abused twice! The fact that this can happen in a supposably safe and secure home is totally unacceptable. The care and attention was lacking to say the least. We could not wait for her to leave.

Our daughter moved to Aster Care 14th August 2024 & moved out 24th Feb 2025. While been in there she was sexually, verbally & physically abused causing her to be scared, frightened & traumatised, losing weight & hair loss. Twice when visiting in one week she was sat in wheelchair soiled and wet & we needed to change her, wheelchair cover & sling while staff were sat using their phones. A few times when we went she was in her room, door shut no tv or alexa on, screaming as she needed attention.

My daughter was moved into Aster Care Middlesbrough on the 14th August 2024. We were shown round beforehand and it appeared satisfactory. Within a few months she was seriously sexually, verbally and physically abused by two other residents (police were informed). No good safeguarding was put in place. The physically and verbally abuser is still wandering around the home now. She was regularly left in her room, door shut, shouting and screaming because she was frightened, as she was likely to be. I visited 3 times most weeks, travelling 90 miles each visit because I knew she wasn't getting the care she needed. Often she was soiled because half of the staff just didn't care. Most of the staff didn't make me welcome. Fortunately she moved on the 24th Feb 2025.

Aster Care keeps me informed of my sister. To know that she is safe and included in everything is such a reassuring feeling. All the staff are of the same brand - caring, kind, helpful and good communicators to residents and the families/visitors. The place is always well presented, clean with fresh aroma and good lighting/heating. The outside area has cover which is a bonus. Residents enjoy the outside greatly.
