Tollesby Hall Care Home

When looking for a nursing home for our dad, who was very ill, we visited several in the area. Our choice, Tollesby Hall, was because first impressions of a lovely caring atmosphere plus immaculate cleanliness (not a hint of bad smells) proved to be the right one. Their interpretation of the finest human qualities of love and care for others is truly awe-inspiring. We couldn't have chosen a better place for Dad to be looked after and any family searching for such facilities can be assured that this is where your loved one will be as comfortable as possible. Tollesby Hall is un-elaborate in terms of the building and grounds. There were times when I found my relative slightly unkempt: long nails and hair and haphazard clothing. These cosmetic details were perhaps not due to the home. There are two reasons it's a fine place.

Firstly, there was never a question about medical or social care. When we suggested it, the staff blended dinners, making a real difference. Records and attentiveness to personal care appeared meticulous, as was security and cleanliness. Faultless technically.

Secondly, the staff were amazing. We watched them deal with occasional aggression or confusion with good humour, kindness and professionalism. My relative was treated with respect and tenderness. More than once we arrived unannounced to find staff sitting with my relative talking, comforting and, yes, showing love. You can't find that in reports! Ultimately, nothing else matters. Tender, loving, fabulous. Thank you for caring.

When our father needed round the clock nursing support, Tollesby Hall provided excellent care for him. The staff were unbelievably kind and patient with all of us, providing the care we were unable to give him at home due to his complex medical needs. The staff made us feel like dad was their only resident and catered for his individual needs, enabling him to be comfortable and peaceful in his final days. We were all treated with respect and nothing was too much bother. We couldn't have asked for better care.

I can't express how satisfied our family was with the high level of palliative care my husband received during his time at Tollesby Hall. During this worrying and emotional time in our lives, the staff always were able to support both my husband and our family. I always felt that he was safe and well looked after and the staff were so attentive to his changing needs. Nothing was ever too much bother.

Quite simply staff at every level were kind, professional and caring and somehow made my whole family feel that my Dad was the only person they were looking after. Lovely people delivering a faultless level of care.

My mother has only been in Tollesby Hall care home since Monday 9th April 2018. My mother is 90 years of age and suffers with dementia and Alzheimers. After discussing with the Manager, we were invited for lunch and to look around. That was kind and dignified. Thus far, everything has been excellent. I cannot discuss money as I am awaiting a meeting with appropriate people.

Exceptional service, made an early morning call to enquire about a respite room for that day for 5 nights, received a phone call back within the hour to confirm they could accommodate us. We went straight there and within the hour again, shown to his room met the staff and had lunch. Faultless. Friendly and helpful.

Over the last 5 weeks, I have witnessed care of the highest standard possible. A team of people, from management, nurses, carers, cleaners, laundry who work together as a family. My sister is a resident was treated with utmost respect, always greeted by a smiling face. She wanted for nothing. In her final days, she was allowed to pass away with dignity, respect and the best care possible. The care was extended to her family we spent an awful lot of hours/days in the home and felt relaxed and was provided with the best support possible. I recommend Tollesby Hall to anyone. Thank you.

My mother spent almost 2 years in Tollesby Hall until she sadly passed away. In this time I have witnessed high levels of patience, understanding and support for my mother and all her family. Due to my mother's illness (dementia), she liked to walk the care home constantly. During her little walks the kisses and cuddles she always got from the staff was so heartwarming.

Care and compassion for Mum and her family couldn't have been better at a very distressing time.

My mum was a resident at Tollesby and after a fall, spent some time in hospital. Sadly she didn't recover and was lucky enough to spend her last two days at Tollesby. The nursing care she received was excellent and on the night she returned to Tollesby, the home manager stayed well beyond her finishing time to ensure we were OK and that my mum got the care, comfort and dignity that she deserved. Thank you for giving her that.

We are all happy because our mam is happy.

My sister has been a resident at Tollesby Hall Care Home for approximately eight years and is very happy there. Whenever I go to visit I am made to feel welcome by staff. I also take my little dog to visit which delights my sister her room is lovely, always clean and tidy. My sister has her pictures and ornaments from home. The staff are lovely and they clearly care about their residents and I cannot fault the care she has received. I would recommend Tollesby Hall Car Home to anybody looking for a place for their loved ones.

Our mother has been a resident for about one year and the only complaint we have had was with an isolated attitude incident from an agency worker which was resolved immediately and has not occurred again. Apart from that, we are totally satisfied. The attitude of the carers, nurses, cleaning staff and management is excellent. The quality of food is very good and no problem is too much for any of the staff. In conclusion, we are perfectly happy to have this nursing home look after our mother who is perfectly happy to be here.

My mum was resident at Tollesby Hall from 13th Jan to 9th Feb when she sadly died. The care and compassion that she received during her short stay was exemplary. Staff treated her with dignity and respect and demonstrated genuine affection. I would say that for most of the staff it was not just a job but a vocation. The room my mum had was very small but adequate for her needs. The home is currently undergoing a programme of refurbishment which will be an improvement for staff and residents. I would have no hesitation to recommend.

My mother has been in Tollesby Hall for nearly a year. As she needed more care. All the staff behave in a professional and caring manner. My mother is 92 and when she came she was expected to be bedridden. The nursing staff worked hard to stabilise her many infections and other problems and contacted her doctor when necessary. She now gets up a couple of hours at a time and at Christmas watched the entertainment. Any concerns I have are dealt with and communication between carers is very good. My mother is treated with respect and dignity. All the staff are friendly and helpful and make my mother feel happy and cared for. As her daughter to know my mother is cared for safe, well looked after and is mostly happy which means more than they would realise.

She was due to stay a week and has asked to stay longer, I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to stay permanently.
