My father was in Tollesby for two and a half years after leaving a residential home when his needs increased. He was very well looked after, well-fed and formed lovely relationships with his carers. The home surpassed itself last month whilst Dad was on end of life care - their support to us whilst we stayed overnight at Dad's bedside for over a week was amazing. Even more importantly, their genuine affection, care and respect given to Dad in his final days touched us all, and we will always be so thankful.

All the staff went the extra mile for dad. They had time for him. Diverted on the way to work to collect his newspaper and encouraged him. On every visit, I had the strong impression that every member of staff we met genuinely cared about dad. Thank you.

I asked my husband the question. He as ha problem writing due to strokes. He has just been for the first time for a week's respite. When he came home I asked him about his week. He said he had nothing to complain about. He felt very safe and secure and well looked after. He said all the staff were wonderful. When he pressed his buzzer they came straight away. He would have no hesitation going in again.

My mother entered the home in 2013. From day one, all of the staff were very welcoming and friendly and my sister and I were sure we had picked the right home. Mum settled in straight away and continued throughout her stay to enjoy living at the home. Sadly in the last few years, she developed dementia and we had a couple of minor issues but after a meeting with the Manager these were quickly resolved. Mum’s care right up until her death in June this year was excellent, we could not fault the staff for the loving care and attention given to her. They assisted us with getting extra care for mum and she had a peaceful few weeks until her death. I would certainly recommend the home.

The most important part of a care home is the care itself, and the staff at Tollesby Hall are outstanding. Very sadly my father passed away during his short stay, but the support we received was excellent. We were treated with dignity, and the staff took time to talk to us to help and guide us through a difficult time. I only wish I could call out several exceptional staff, but suffice to say everyone was compassionate and caring.

What a welcoming place to go to. Staff lovely to talk with and so helpful.

Understand fully the needs of residents (as witnessed by me when my husband was in for respite care). Everywhere was so clean and I loved the wooden/lino flooring throughout. So much more hygienic.

My aunt was a resident for three years. Despite her challenging behaviour, staff are always patient. During my aunts deteriorating health, kindness and dignity ensued. I was always made welcome and as my aunts health failed, I was kept informed and notified when the end came, ensuring I was there to hold her hand. All nursing staff, domestic and office excellent.

This home would be much improved by a change to the nurse-call alarm. When a resident calls a nurse, buzzers sound in all of the corridors. These continue until cancelled by staff. The buzzers are very loud and persistent and have an unpleasant, piercing tone which only changes when further residents call for nurses. I have known the noise continue for 1 hr 45 mins with only a short pause before it starts again.
My mother has been in this home for a few weeks now having palliative care; she needs peace. I spend every afternoon with her. There is a buzzer just outside her door but she likes to have the door open. We have to stop talking while it sounds and I have spent many hours listening to it when she is resting. It is all that I will remember about the place!

I did complain and the home has reduced the volume of the buzzer. It is much better but I can still hear the others. There is an identical system at a Hospice, but with lights outside of the rooms, not buzzers!

I and all the family were impressed by the friendly, kind and caring nature of the staff. Also, the internal appearance of the home was clean tidy, well organised and well decorated, in fact, the surroundings inside and outside were excellent.
There were lots of activities for the residents and all the staff we saw were easy to talk with and it was obvious that they cared for the residents.
Having surveyed many care homes throughout the UK Scotland and Ireland in the past I would rate this home as being one of the best I have been to.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to friend and family and others.

Tollesby Hall Care Home and all its staff have very quickly become part of the family. The staff truly care and go that extra mile to make the residents feel at home. My dad and Nana are currently in their care and living 1hr 30mins down the road can be frustrating but I feel at ease every time I leave them that they're in the very best hands.

Thank you to all the staff for the wonderful job you do, we feel lucky to be on this journey with you.

My dad spent the last two years of his life at Tollesby Hall Care Home after suffering a stroke. His complex needs were met well by the staff. His appearance was kept clean and tidy, clean dressings were applied daily and he never suffered with bed sores. Members of staff were warm and friendly, maintaining a sense of humour, which I know my dad appreciated, even though he struggled to talk clearly. My dad also had to be peg fed and the management of Tollesby was the only home we initially contacted who agreed to accept him as a resident, despite his complex needs.

CQC inspection ratings are a strong indicator for a quality service provider, however, personal experience of that service in relation to your loved one is of paramount priority - Tollesby Hall Care Home provides the all-inclusive care package in all aspects of professionalism, respect and dignity. The outstanding aspect is the staff.
From day one, my Mum and her family felt supported, included and valued.
The professional care, empathy and understanding, which all staff without exception demonstrate on a daily basis, has enabled Mum to feel safe, secure and fully supported in her new home.

This excellence in provision of care means so much to all her family.

My father came to Tollesby Hall in July 2018 after an unpleasant experience in his previous home and became very withdrawn. Within two days, the difference was immense, both physically and mentally. My family highly regard the care being shown to dad daily.

When looking for a nursing home for our dad, who was very ill, we visited several in the area. Our choice, Tollesby Hall, was because first impressions of a lovely caring atmosphere plus immaculate cleanliness (not a hint of bad smells) proved to be the right one. Their interpretation of the finest human qualities of love and care for others is truly awe-inspiring. We couldn't have chosen a better place for Dad to be looked after and any family searching for such facilities can be assured that this is where your loved one will be as comfortable as possible. Heartfelt thanks from all our family.

Ginita DedmanJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2021

My name is Ginita, I am married with three children and 10 grandchildren. I started my care journey as a carer in a small home of 10 residents with learning disabilities for twelve years before deciding to become a nurse. I studied at Teesside University at the age of 42 and qualified as an adult nurse in 2017 with a first-class with honours.

I started my nursing career in James Cook Hospital, but knew that my passion was within the community. I have worked in care homes since 2018 and have enjoyed my journey since, learning new skills and mentoring newly qualified nurses.

I started at Tollesby Hall in January 2021, and I have progressed from nurse to lead nurse, then to clinical lead. I was then promoted to Care Home Manager in August 2025.

I am passionate about nursing and like to feel I make a difference to residents' and families lives.
