Poplars is a very friendly care home. My mother has been a resident for many years and has always been cared for extremely well, and with dignity and respect. When my mothers health detiriorated the communication was very good with senior staff listening to our concerns and also respecting our decisions on our mothers care. I sometimes feel as though there is not enough staff and staff concern at times.
Thank you for your time, we will use your feedback to improve the service.
My nan has been well looked after at Poplars Care Home. The staff have been consistently caring and supportive showing outstanding compassion throughout my nans transition into residential care. Staff have shown genuine empathy, kindness and patience. As a family we are always made to feel welcome and the staff truly couldn't do enough for us. The only minor negative is the limited choice at mealtimes with only one option available whereas when she first moved to Poplars there was always two options.
Thank you for your feedback and your very kind comments. I will address the one meal option given to your Nan.
Lovely home and lovely staff, food is always plentiful and the new manager is polite and approachable.
Thank you for your rating and feedback, Lovely Resident.
My mam was in poplars from Feb 2020 until she passed away in Sept 2024 she had dementia and could be very awkward but the staff loved her,she was on end of life for a week before she passed and she was treat with care and dignity, when she passed a lot of staff came in to pay their respects quite a lot in tears mam was 8weeks from her 102nd birthday for her 100th birthday she was given a day to remember
I can't thank The Poplars enough for looked after my dad.
Thank you so much for your kind review. It was a pleasure and an honour to care for your dad during his final years. I will pass your words onto the whole team. Take care.
On the whole satisfactory, in some cases poor.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry you feel that the service provided has been less than satisfactory at times. I would encourage you to discuss any areas that give you cause for concern with the senior staff as they arise. This gives staff the opportunity to speak to you directly and swiftly resolve any issues that you may have.
My mum has only been here since 20th December 2024 and has been treated as I would expect, with care and dignity. She is happy and I feel she is safe and well looked after. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for them and I cam always aware that they are very very busy but they always say they will come back when they can and they do come back. Makes me feel comfortable knowing my mum is ok.
Thank you very much for your positive review. I am pleased that the team are meeting your expectations and will pass your thanks on to the staff.
I find The Poplars Care Home very friendly, caring and professional in their services and support. Rooms are good and staff are very helpful and supportive. Food is good and the building is kept in good order. I can understand why it gets top marks.
Thank you so much for your positive review. Your comments are appreciated by the whole team.
My dad needed 24/7 care and was dubious about going into a care home. However, The Poplars went above and beyond to ensure my dad was comfortable and went the extra mile to talk to him day or night and eased his worries. The staff in here always offered a cuppa on visits and even changed his room around (god knows how many times) to suit him and his desires. I can not begin to express how amazing Poplars Care Home is for offering my dad comfort and support in his final weeks.
Thank you so very much for your lovely review, it means so much to the whole team when our hard work and care is recognised. It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to care for your dad. Thank you and take care.
Excellent home. Staff are amazing, so helpful.
Thank you for your positive review. It means a lot to the team and I will be sure to pass on your comments to all of the staff.
This si the second time my mum has been to The Poplars Care Home, her sister is a residential guest there, whereas Mum goes for respite care for her own well-being or whilst we are away on holiday, maybe two or three weeks at a time. The staff are all welcoming and treat Mum with respect and care, she always tells us how nice everyone is, also how good the food i, which is really peace of mind for me and my wife. We would highly recommend The Poplars to anyone as a caring environment.
Thank you for your positive review. We are very pleased that you think so highly of our home and the care we provide. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
My dad has been in the care home for a few years now and the staff have a great rappor with my dad and he is safe and cared for nothing is too much trouble I am kept up to date with everything that goes on with my dad and staff are there if I have any questions
Thank you very much for your positive review. I am glad that you are happy with the care that your dad receives and will pass your comments on to the team.
Following a brief visit to the hospital I was admitted to The Poplars Care Home and stayed for ten days. I had some physiotherapy and saw an Occupational Therapist. After doing exercises I could walk with the aid of a frame at which time I could go home. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and overall it was a very enjoyable experience.
Thank you for your review. We are very happy that you enjoyed your time with us and made swift progress, allowing you to go home earlier than expected.
Our brother was transferred from hospital to The Poplars Care Home for palliative care in June 2023. From our initial meeting with The Poplars manager through to our brother's last day there the care, kindness, compassion and dignity afforded by all the staff, to both our brother and his family, was above and beyond our wildest expectations. The Poplars team were always friendly, professional, respectful and supportive providing a safe and caring environment for him to live in and us his family to visit at any time of the day or night when required. We would not hesitate to recommend The Poplars Care Home to anyone who needed to use their services in the future.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our services, it means a lot to the whole team. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.
My mum has dementia and it was lovely to see her happy and content when we picked her up. When we dropped her the people and staff are so friendly and we like how the staff brought her a cup of tea over as soon as she came in. The room was so bright and cheerful and we loved the colour overall my mum has a had a brilliant time and it makes it easy for me to leave now.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are very pleased that you and your mum liked our home. You are welcome back anytime. Thank you.
My wife came into The Poplars Care Home for assessment care and was there for about three and a half months. She was well looked after during a very difficult period. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they are very much appreciated. It was a pleasure to look after your wife. Best wishes from The Poplars.
Our sister has been in The Poplars Care Home for only coming up 5 weeks. Due to her health declining and other issues, she will need to live where she will be supported, helped, treated with respect, dignity and seen as a person. As from the moment she went in from hospital, the staff are meeting her needs, it's a lovely atmosphere, and my sister wishes to stay there, which says a lot about the home and staff, as in the past she has stayed in a shocking place. I have visited different times and the staff have always been courteous, to my sister and other residents. I have seen activities taking place and they always looked and sounded fun for all concerned. The meals looked nice and my sister was always told what was available and had choices.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and kind words. It is very much appreciated by the whole team. We are delighted that both you and your sister are happy with The Poplars Care Home.
Overall experience was very good. The staff and management are very pleasant.
I am pleased that we were able to provide a positive experience. Thank you for your positive feedback, it is much appreciated by the whole team.
Really nice and friendly staff. Always there to help.
Thank you for your kind comments. The team and I really appreciate it.
My first impression of The Poplars Care Home was that it needed a good coat of paint to make it look homely for the residents. The staff were all very friendly (bar one). The meals looked very nice (but small portions).
Thank you for your review, your comments are important to us and help us to improve the home for our residents. My door is always open if anyone has any questions, queries or concerns.
