The staff at Barrington Lodge have been very helpful during the lockdown. I was able to see my mother through her bedroom window initially. I would like to thank everyone for their continued support during difficult times.

My Dad has been in Barrington Lodge for over a year. He settled in very well. The staff are very friendly and caring and always on hand if I need to talk to them. Dad's health is always monitored as he suffers from COPD and Alzheimers. They are aware of changes and if he needs medical attention it is
dealt with promptly. He enjoys his meals too. On the negative side, I found the rooms could be kept cleaner, with more hoovering and wiping of surfaces. The toilet sometimes needs a good clean and in general, the furnishings look a bit tired. In general, I would say I feel happy with my Dad being in there. He is safe and looked after by lovely people.

I would never ever recommend this home to anyone ever there is no care taken at all, staff never keep a record of anything.

From the 1st time of visiting this care home, we found the staff very caring, welcoming, helpful and friendly and over the past weeks, we've found them all the same. They treat residents with respect and understanding, helping where they can. Although busy when we call they do still have time for a
quick chat, which is so lovely. Easy parking, bright and airy inside helps make this a lovely care home.

Barrington Lodge cared for my sister during the last weeks of her life. She was treat with compassion, empathy, and the care she received was second to none. The family would like to thank Barrington Lodge staff for the excellent care my sister received. I would highly recommend this Care Home. They

I spent 2 weeks in this home. The nursing/carers were kind and welcoming but they had no time to do their job - "to care". Some were good. Some needed more training in how to speak to people, how to behave and needed help with hygiene. My room was disgusting. The carpet was filthy, with huge black stains.
Ugh!. The bedding was thin and washed out. The chair was uncomfortable and unsuitable for someone with broken limbs. Washing facilities inadequate. Bed rarely made properly. One instance, a carer spill the catheter bag - mopped it up with my towel - not replaced that day and floor not cleaned. A very uncomfortable experience. The food was very poor, unappealing and very bland unless you love mashed potatoes and corned beef and had diarrhoea for 10 days - no treatment. The doctor called but did not come.
On a bright note, the independent team were excellent. I could write a book about it. The medication dispensing erratic and not always recorded.

I was very impressed by the care and attention given to patients by everyone. It was so clean and tidy I have never known my brother so content, as I have been so worried about him.


I myself have always had a dread of going into a care home (not anymore) and I would most certainly choose Barrington

The home is generally OK but could be better. Cleanliness is sometimes lacking and staff need to be asked to clean/change my father. Housekeeping is again only passable.
Food is good and plentiful and regular. Most of the time there is not enough staff on to patients.
I would like to see more activities
for the residents to do.

I found my experience at Barrington Lodge very good. All staff so very helpful and friendly. The facilities were excellent as were the rooms. The food and menu was also extremely good. Would recommend this rehab facility, giving me confidence for when I go home.
