My Dad was fast tracked into Brockwell Court Care Home. We were met by the manager Paula who was helpful & kind from the start. During my Dad's stay he received the care that as a family we all hoped for. The nurses & care staff were outstanding, nothing was ever a problem & were always very approachable. They didn't just look after my Dad but looked after the whole family when visiting him.

A special shout out to Deb's & Debra who were a great comfort to our family when my Dad passed away. They both showed compassion & respect, we can't thank you both enough for your kindness & hugs. Will definitely recommend this outstanding Care Home.

Brockwell Court needs some updating, furniture in residents room is tired, curtains were soiled, we have supplied our own curtains now .
The bedroom window is drafty.
On approach the entrance has cigarette ends scattered around, often residents and visitors are smoking at the entrance, causing other visitors to walk through plumes of smoke, there is a large tin situated on a bistro table at the entrance where cigarette ends are put in, however, many are scattered around.
Staff do use a memorial seat away from the entrance to smoke- I have witnessed, however, a member of staff vaping at the entrance .
There is often agency staff on which does not give continuous care to residents as they do not know them or their needs.

Staff are pleasant and helpful.

I would just like to thank the Manager and her team for taking such good care of my mam. We are 18 months into a dreadful disease and have been in two other care homes and hospice care and I have to say the level of care and compassion we have received has been outstanding.

When you are going through such an awful time, prompt and quick care is so necessary and The manager has certainly gone out of her way to make sure this has happened. The nurses and carers cannot help you enough. I realise that things take time as they have so many residents to take care of, but they always get to mam and treat her with respect and professionalism. Thank you Brockwell team you are literally amazing.

Love the positivity and warmth of staff. My brother gets timely care, is well hydrated, and has nourishing meals
His care needs are met 100%. No omissions sinces coming her 5 months ago.
However the hygiene of the environment is poor, the damaged furniture and furnishings are demoralising.

The carpet and lift areas are v. dirty.

Reply from Louise Porter, Business Development Manager at Brockwell Court Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to give us this valuable feedback. We are pleased to hear your brothers care needs are being met & that the team have been supportive. We have taken your comments on board about the environment, we will look to replace any damaged furniture and we already have plans to replace the carpet. Thanks again for the feedback.

My dad has been in Brockwell Court Care Home for a year, the staff are all amazing with him, including the cleaners and maintenance team.
They encourage him to take part in the activities, which he does now.
The care they give my dad, in all aspects, is excellent and they are all so welcoming to myself and family.

I am always in the knowledge that my dad is taken the best care of.

My mother stayed at Brockwell Court Care Home for respite due to myself and my partner going on holiday. This was the second time she had stayed here and it was her own choice to return. She stated that the staff and home were really good and looked after her very well. She has stated she would not hesitate to return back to Brockwell Court.

Could not have wished for my gran to be in a better facility. The constant show of care is beyond what I could've wanted. All staff are extremely well-trained and the rapport they build with service users and their families is truly compassionate. Gran, unfortunately, moved out to another home however cried for three days straight that she wanted to go back to Brockwell Court Care Home. All staff we spoke to regarding her coming back were so supportive and we, as a family, could not be happier with the home. Great work everyone, you're like an adopted family.

Having spent twelve weeks in the care home following a bad accident, my eyes were open to the hardworking team that's there. Nothing seemed to put them off, looking after all the needs of everyone and doing it in a very professional way. The younger staff members were so switched on to the job as well, all seemed happy and smiling all the time. The older staff, some with a lot of years service, says something about the place. After a bit of a mix up at my time of leaving, a manager and supervisor jumped into a car and followed the ambulance to my home then got me into a wheelchair and got me into my house, to me they went above and beyond their jobs. Thank you all.

The care home seems very friendly. The staff are good to talk to. The residents are very friendly. Plenty to do every day if you want to take part. Staff are kept very busy. The rooms are big enough for people. Good are outside for residents. Good for family parking, and also near the town centre and all the shops nearby. Overall, care home is o.k.

I'm a registered learning disabilities nurse with a background in working in mental health. I started my career working in a male acute setting, progressing to senior nurse before being offered a role as deputy manager in a learning disabilities residential for complex needs. I quickly progressed to manager and worked hard to establish good relationships with the local authority and families, taking the service to a good CQC from requires improvement. I left there in 2023 and started the process of CQC registration for a recruitment agency, to become a provider of services in their own right. I successfully navigated registration and opened adult-supported living and later crisis placements for children in care of the local authority.

The role was very rewarding, but I lacked the opportunity to use my nursing skills. I live locally and heard about the role at Brockwell. I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to use my skills, provide person-centred, quality care and give something back to the local community. I live locally, and I am a mum of 7. I'm looking forward to building relationships with our families and local community to make sure our residents have a fulfilled life with high-quality care.
