Overall Experience

My father-in-law has been a resident here for the last twelve months, during this time, he has been very happy and content with the care he has received. He has spoken highly of all the staff and looks forward to chatting with them. Myself and the family highly recommended Brookwell Court Care Home, all the staff have shown nothing but kindness and dedication towards my father-in-law; we really can’t thank them enough. They are absolute stars making the residents and families feel at ease knowing their loved ones are safe and well cared for. They do an amazing job always, especially during these uncertain times of this pandemic, keeping up everyone’s spirits and by keeping all the residents, families, and themselves safe. They are truly unsung heroes.

I would just like to thank the manager and all the wonderful staff at Brockwell Court for looking after my mother-in-law from August 2020. When she first went into Brockwell Court she was weak, fragile, dehydrated and suffering from malnourishment as she could not look after herself at home any longer due to her condition. By October she was a new lady, the difference was amazing so we decided to make this a permanent place for her as she was so happy there. I would highly recommend this home for your loved ones.

I would like to say thank you Brockwell Court for letting my nana have best 92nd birthday she ever had. We communicate through Facebook and social media due to COVID-19. I appreciate them sending me photos and videos of her as I am unable to look through the window. Thank you for the staff taking their time to do this for me.

Lots of love take care.

My father stayed here for a second time for respite care after a previous stay around 18 months ago. Since his previous stay, the home has had a lot of work done to the décor and also introduced a new menu which my father loved. During these difficult times with COVID the home and in particular, the manager couldn't have done anymore to reassure us and make his stay more comfortable. The service we received and the communication was second to none. Thank you very much to all of the staff for everything you have done for us.

Overall Experience

Due to an unexpected change in circumstances, my mother has had to give up her home and be cared for at Brockwell Court. My mother was often frightened living on her own, and due to work and family pressures, we could not always be there for her. My mother used to work in a residential unit and has always said she would not be happy to move into one. The staff and management at Brockwell have been superb. They have taken the time and care to get to know my mother and her worries and concerns. Every time I call, they happy to tell me how my mam is, but always tell me something more they have learned or that she has been doing. For the first time in a long time now my mother tells me she feels safe, and I can see from her improving general health she is being very well cared for. I did initially feel nervous about my mam being cared for by someone else, however, staff have taken so much time to get to know my mother and our family. I now know she has better care than I had time to provide for her.

Overall Experience

Our 88-year-old mother went into Brockwell Court for a 2 1/2 month period of respite care and has nothing but praise for the home itself and its staff. This was our mother’s first experience of being in care and she initially was very apprehensive, however, settled very quickly. All her needs were catered for which allowed her to regain her strength enough so to allow her to return to her own home. The staff were always pleasant and helpful to our mother with nothing being too much trouble. This was also evident when, because of Covid restrictions, contact with our mother could only be by telephone which was always facilitated by the staff without any issues. Our mother, even for her age, has a very good appetite and her views of the food she was provided are that it was always very good, wholesome food. All in all, a very positive experience for our mother and she couldn’t recommend Brockwell Court highly enough.

I have stayed here for respite over two months; I can not fault the home. I have enjoyed my stay, and all staff from carers, cleaners, laundry and activities have been excellent. The room is great and very clean, the food has been excellent, there is nothing negative I can possibly say.

My mother was assigned a respite care place at Brockwell Court following repeated visits to A&E caused by falls at home. She was well looked after by the staff and did benefit to some extent form the regular physiotherapy care at her disposal.

A generally successful and well-received opportunity for respite care.

I'm a registered learning disabilities nurse with a background in working in mental health. I started my career working in a male acute setting, progressing to senior nurse before being offered a role as deputy manager in a learning disabilities residential for complex needs. I quickly progressed to manager and worked hard to establish good relationships with the local authority and families, taking the service to a good CQC from requires improvement. I left there in 2023 and started the process of CQC registration for a recruitment agency, to become a provider of services in their own right. I successfully navigated registration and opened adult-supported living and later crisis placements for children in care of the local authority.

The role was very rewarding, but I lacked the opportunity to use my nursing skills. I live locally and heard about the role at Brockwell. I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to use my skills, provide person-centred, quality care and give something back to the local community. I live locally, and I am a mum of 7. I'm looking forward to building relationships with our families and local community to make sure our residents have a fulfilled life with high-quality care.
