Since coming in the care home in November last year my Mam has received great care from everyone involved. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for my Mum, anything she needs they are there for her. I would recommend this home to anybody who needs care for an elderly family member.

Since my gran moved into Holly Lodge in November 2016, the care she has received has been exceptional, nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and each and every team member goes above and beyond in every aspect of the care they give. Since coming into the care home, my gran has become much more
content and happy in herself. This is all thanks to the wonderful team at Holly Lodge.

Since my Gran has come into the care home I have seen huge improvements. Since November my Gran has become much more mobile. Also, since moving into the care home my Gran has become much more sociable, from blending with other residents and carers to days out; which she regularly goes on. The improvement
we have seen in my Gran is spectacular and we couldn't be happier with her progress, due to the high standard of care my Gran receives from all of the carers at Holly Lodge care home.

I am very impressed with this home. Clean, tidy, staff always cheerful, can always answer any questions you may have, or any concerns. The dining and lounge areas are clean, bright and cheerful. The residents' rooms are spacious and always clean, especially the toilet area. You always get updates
on your relative, how they are doing. There are always plenty of trips out and activities in the lounge. A very caring home that gives you peace of mind that your relative is in safe, caring hands.
Thank you so much.

My sister was a resident in Holly Lodge for a short period only. She was happy to say that she wanted to stay there, should her health deteriorate. She was always treated with kindness and respect and she died with dignity. We couldn't have treated her better ourselves.

Very friendly approachable staff who guided us through the first few days of my uncle stay at Holly Lodge. Whenever I visit, I am always greeted with happy friendly faces and a very welcome offer of a hot drink. The care and attention he received can't be faulted. Decisions that had to be made was always
of the best intentions for him and was explained. There seemed to be lots of different activities going on during the week which visitors are welcome to join in. This was my first experience with a care home and thankfully they helped make it pleasant one.

I can relax in the knowledge that my mother's needs and wishes are honoured. The care staff are always smiling and reassuring of supportive consideration for all. I am now able to relax and spend quality time with my mum. The home provides inclusive activities to engage residents but will equally allow
them space if they want to spend quiet time in their room. As a visiting guest, I always feel welcome and am informed and included in any decision making.
The building itself is kept clean and welcoming at all times.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.686)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.686) out of 10 for Holly Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.686 for Holly Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 245 Ratings = 4.686
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Holly Lodge Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
