Our Dad became a resident in the care home in February 2026.We found the home very clean and well looked after , the management and staff were very friendly and supportive towards our Dad .Also treated with care and Dignity we have seen .Plenty of Activities going on and Dad has settled in well , food
and drinks is well presented and Dad eats well and put on weight.
The bedrooms are lovely and spacious and well thought of. Good Value of money

My wife had excellent care, was very happy with everything and can not fault anything about the home. This is my first choice if my wife needs to go back into a home, as she was only on a respite. I am on OCP myself and could also stop in this home if ever I needed to.

Staff excellent, food really good as mam did put weight on which was good. Staff go above and beyond to help. Also, Dawn, the manager, is very friendly and helpful.

Staff were friendly and will do anything to help and support. We have discussed if Freda needs to go into a home again, as Freda was on respite. Holly Lodge is our first choice.

Sat in lovely garden with our former brother in law. Staff always helpful and welcoming. Staff showed care and consideration towards residents and visitors. Home always has a fresh welcoming smell especially in the entrance.

Staff are always polite. Home is always clean. Plenty of activities. Visit anytime throughout the day. Sometimes cannot get the car park taken up by staff cars.

All staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely cake with morning tea. No Activities taking place. Hundreds of cigarette ends strewn in the residents garden, presumably left by night staff. Wheelchairs dirty and in much need of a thorough clean.

My mam stayed at Holly Lodge sadly she passed away in October 2024. I can not praise the Manager and staff enough they looked after my as if she was there own Mam. Holly lodge is spotlessly clean all the staff are just amazing. They kept me informed of everything regarding my mam care as i do not live
in Shildon. The manager is fantastic and is such a lovely person. I miss going to the home and seeing everyone. One last thing my Mam really loved living at Holly Lodge. Thanks for all your hard work.

The home have been very supportive, not only to my sister but to myself and other family members. During the decision making process of admitting her into a care home, and the guilt that went with that decision. Their support has continued from the first day when my sisters resistance was apparent.
Their manner in dealing with her, and how she is treated on a daily basis shows great compassion for her condition and needs. She is very settled even though I know she has her stubborn moments.

The care is of a good standard, there is always room for improvement, nothing is perfect. The staff have a difficult task dealing with residents with different complex needs and do a good job.

The staff are continually attentive and considerate of all residents. My mum has recently had a fall and the care she received was above and beyond what was expected. Management are also always caring and listens to any concerns and action is taken to resolve any issues that may arise. I could not praise
them enough.
