Very friendly team with genuine care and compassion towards residents. It's what it should be, the residents' home not an institution. The place is immaculate and up-to-date with its decor and furnishings. Nothing is a problem for the staff. If any of the residents do not particularly fancy what is
on the menu the catering team will do their best to accommodate their preferences. I can genuinely say I feel that my mam is being cared for with dignity and respect and I feel happy when I leave after visiting as she is happy.

My father was admitted to Stoneleigh Care Home last December, which was a stressful time for the family. The staff were fantastic in helping Dad to settle in and reassuring the family. There is a happy atmosphere in the home with plenty of activities for those who want to join in. The care, overall,
is excellent with brilliant carers.

Excellent care was provided for Mum during a short term period of respite. All staff were so kind and thoughtful, looking after Mum and taking care of her needs with sensitivity and warmth. The manager was always available, quick to help and very reassuring, which I really appreciated.

On my arrival at Stoneleigh, I must admit I didn't know what to expect and it took me a little while to grow accustomed to my new surroundings. However, once I did, I became aware that these lovely people were here to help me, I worked with them. I've learnt much in the two months I've been here, things
I needed to learn about myself. If and when I go home, I know my experience will help me live out my life in safety.

My mother has been in the care home since before the start of Covid. Also, my father was there for the last few months of his life. I can only say this love and support shown is wonderful. The food is good, mostly fair. The rooms are not big, and this home could benefit highly from an extension or conservatory.

At Stoneleigh, we provide comfortable accommodation for our residents. Our home is warm, and friendly and welcoming. We have undertaken a lot of work to make the outside gardens more inviting and more pleasant to sit in for our residents. We also do activities outside weather permitting, we also, have a reminiscence and several lounges we can use. Several HC-One homes are receiving a refurbishment, and we are looking forward to this in the coming year. We work with the residents to choose the decoration for the refurbishment. We will put forward the idea of a conservatory when the planning commences for the refurbishment. We regularly review our menu and discuss the choices with the residents to ensure that all tastes are catered for. We continue to have residents’ meetings, and we discuss what they would like in the home.

I arrived again at this care home Stoneleigh today to see my sister, and the care and attention to PPE were very attentive. This home has been my sisters home for quite a few years now, and she has been kept clean, eats well, and the staff are brilliant. The home itself is spotless, and there have never
been any odours in all the time I have visited. I would recommend even myself to come here.

At Stoneleigh, we provide comfortable, homely accommodation for our residents. Our home is warm, friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID 19 pandemic and the associated restrictions we have been unable to facilitate outings away from the Home for our residents. Due to the easing of restrictions, we are now able to offer some outings again and will be recommencing them this week.
Our meal service provision usually occurs at the following times: Breakfast – 9.00am to 10.00am, Lunch – 12.30pm to 1.30pm, Tea – 4.30pm to 5.30pm and Supper – 8.00pm to 8.30pm.
However, as Stoneleigh is our resident’s home, we always try to facilitate meal service provision outside of these times if that’s what our residents need/want. We have snacks and drinks available for our residents throughout the day.
At Stoneleigh, we offer a range of activities designed to encompass a wide range of tastes to suit all of our residents. We offer activities such as gardening, movies, quizzes, arts and crafts and have several projects on the go at the moment – such as making our gardens look wonderful with fairy and gnome gardens and lots of flowers. The residents are also growing some salad vegetables which they’ll hopefully enjoy when harvested. They are also experimenting with non-permanent henna-type tattoos. Of course, there are still the singalongs and bingo sessions held weekly. Our Wellbeing Co-ordinators are always open to suggestions for new things to do.

Cannot thank the staff enough for all their hard work during these unforeseen times. The care and attention they have given cannot be put into words. My husband, who has Parkinson's and dementia, recently stayed at Stoneleigh. He was reluctant to go but enjoyed the experience so much he wanted to go back. The staff were great with him and engaged in conversation as well as his personal care. He can be difficult for me to manage, and these angels

Really impressed with the way Stoneleigh is looking after my mum, especially during this pandemic. Mum has dementia, and they are looking after her physical and mental well-being in the best way possible. Ensuring she has plenty of one-to-one attention and limiting visitors and outside contact to keep
her and other residents safe. I really feel the manager and staff are going 'above and beyond' to keep everyone safe. A huge thank you and well done from me.

Rooms too small, my dad stops me taking things in from home as there is nowhere to put anything. Food is satisfactory, meat could be better quality and cooked so more manageable for the elderly and infirm. Can't fault the staff, they are great with my dad. Spoke to senior staff a couple of times in
the last 5-months regarding a couple of concerns, nothing major, but sorted swiftly.

In these recent difficult times, we are experiencing I have been kept informed about everything that has been happening at Stoneleigh both by mail and phone, and find the care has been excellent. I live over 100-miles from the home but have never felt isolated. Information and care have been both caring
and informative. At this time, can't fault the staff, care and concern have been excellent.

My Mam came into Stoneleigh on 9th March 2020 for two weeks respite and was made permanent on 23rd March. It was in the middle of the lockdown for Coronavirus. I had to empty Mam's flat and bring stuff to Stoneleigh. All staff has helped Mam and me, washing, disinfecting, cleaning everything I brought
for Mam, as well as their ordinary jobs in these challenging times. Mam has settled very well. Her health and appearance have improved so much. Thank you all for her care.

"Kindness to me is promoting safety, happiness and dignity."


Susan is a Healthcare Professional with a number of years’ experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Susan closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Stoneleigh.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Susan remarked:


“I love working with and getting to know our Residents and hearing their stories.”


Outside of work, Susan enjoys walking holidays in the Lake District and Yorkshire with her partner and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
