Rydal Care Home

My husband was in the home from September 2016 until he died 5th April 2018. He could walk when he went in and something happened in Sept 2017 when I found him in agony in bed and he never walked again. I don't know what happened? He was hoisted everywhere. Left wet for hours in a wheelchair. The food was rubbish. At the end, he refused to eat and drink. I used to take in yoghurts, coffee, orange juice and bottled water. I provided all of his bedding. Towels, toiletries, new clothes when his disappeared. They were always short staffed. His medication was given spasmodically.

The staff are kind and patient. My aunt is often taken out by staff either on a visit somewhere or just to the local supermarket. There has been a problem with laundry but after speaking to the manager I am confident they are solving the problem. They are also about to decorate her room with her choice of colour. When living some distance from the care home it is very important that I feel I can rely on the staff to look after my aunt and they are all doing a great job.
