My 99-year-old mother has been a resident for over a year and is very happy and settled, regarding De Baliol as home and the staff as her friends. The staff are doing a great job from top to bottom. They do at time seem to be a little short-staffed, but go out of their way to keep their residents happy and safe. Really nice people doing a difficult job, yet always friendly and helpful, who could ask for more?

Ever since my grandma transferred to De Baliol her health, her wellbeing and her mental state has done nothing but improve and keeps improving. I would like to thank everyone who contributes and who takes care of the residents, including my world, my grandma. I have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone who has helped my grandma.

My dad is receiving very considerate care, the staff look after him flawlessly. I am very happy he is in such good care. Although it is very sad to visit and sit with my Dad, the staff have allowed me to do so even during meal times.

Overall Experience

My husband has dementia and after a stay in hospital following a stroke, went into care in April 2023. Extremely difficult time for us all, he so wanted to come home. It's taken a while, but he seems more settled now and accepting of the situation. Diet, speech, mobility are all addressed. He now joins in more, has good interaction with staff. Carers are mostly outstanding which makes the situation more bearable for us all. Only downside is the room size and decor in some areas. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I am very happy with this care home. The staff are very friendly and give good standards of care for my mum. The management is all on the ball. When I have had two or three complaints over the last seven years, the management sorts it out straight away and never makes you feel uncomfortable about complaining. Even though Mum doesn't take part in many activities, I am very impressed with the activities they get.
