Lowgate Nursing Home

When my father has deteriorated, they are very quick to respond even to the point of ringing us to make us aware of what is happening.

My mother was a resident at Lowgate first for respite care and more recently as a long-term resident. She recently died after a long period of declining health and I have nothing but praise for the staff at Lowgate. They provided expert nursing care, always empathetic and kind, both to mum and to us as family. The manager and her staff are to be highly commended, thank you.

My husband died at Lowgate in February and my family and I were overwhelmed by the kindness of the staff. during his short stay there, every single member of the staff spoke to us in the friendliest manner.

My husband had become totally helpless and depended on others for his every need, but he was always treated promptly and respectfully The manager has every reason to be extremely proud of the staff she has assembled.

I have seen people come into the home and the care it takes to settle him into their new environment.

Delighted with our choice of care home homely atmosphere, light and airy building, caring and kind staff.

She died in their care in January 2017.

She has been helped in so many more ways than we could have expected.

The manager is very pleasant and so helpful.

My mum came to live at Lowgate Nursing Home 1 1/2 years ago. We are very close and it was a massive decision to make, after all, who could possibly care for your loved one as well as you could? The staff are amazing, office workers, nurses, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff, laundry staff, entertainment department (sorry if I've left anyone out) are all fantastic. Make you feel welcome and involved. Thank you to you all.

My mother came to Lowgate from another place where she was diagnosed with bowel cancer aged 96. I cannot thank the staff of Lowgate enough for their extreme care of my mother at a time where I could no longer cope with the care she needed. They are a wonderful group of the most caring people. My extreme thanks to them for caring for my mother at a very difficult time.

My husband has now been in Lowgate for 3 and a half years and has received outstanding care and nursing. Many of the staff have been there longer than that. They genuinely really know and care for the residents as if they were their own relative and nothing is too much trouble to make them happy and comfortable. They will sit and talk to the residents without a visitor and communicate well with relatives. I feel my husband receives the standard of care I gave him at home and my observation shows how lovingly and kindly they care for even the most difficult and demanding residents.
