Ponteland Manor is a purpose-built care home surrounded by countryside and landscaped gardens. The home provides permanent residential and nursing care as well as offering short-term respite care.

Each spacious ensuite bedroom can be personalised so you feel at home. Residents can enjoy many shared facilities including stylish lounges and a hair and beauty salon.

The dedicated team believes in making each day special and treating residents with dignity and respect. All residents have personalised care plans that are continually updated to ensure their wishes are upheld and their care needs met.

Family members are always welcome at the home, and the team maintains open lines of communication about residents' welfare.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Parents seem to be settling in well. A few issues are now resolved which is down to parents accepting things and home getting used to their needs. Plenty of activities for them if they wish to attend.
Food is good, Dad particularly likes it.

My wife has been in Ponteland Manor since August 23 and despite it having been a very difficult decision to place her in a nursing home I have seen a level of care which has touched me, the staff treat her with dignity and respect making the decision to place her in Ponteland easier for me knowing she

We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Moving my father into the care home was a very smooth process, thanks to all of the staff. My father is very happy with the facilities and people there. He has facilities and people there. He has settled in quickly and comfortably.

Always a welcome from my aunt. It seems a community of entertainment i.e. Elvis, petting pony, bingo and occasional coffee at the local club. I like the mix of activities and one-to-one time where staff will spend time with residents. My family have regular contact.

On my first visit, two things stood out immediately: 1) the friendly and attentive care from all staff, a genuine warmth to both visitors and residents and 2) The high standard of maintenance and attention to the environment and atmosphere. The manager was happy to discuss any and every aspect of the
care they provide and has always been warm and professional in their approach. Other family members and friends have visited more frequently than I (as I live and work some distance away) and they echo our appreciation of the high standard of care. Thank you.

It is very difficult to think of something 'poor' to say about Ponteland Manor. The staff are excellent, the food is good, but not always presented attractively.

Since I arrived here just over a year ago, the staff have all been very supportive. I found having to ask for help with my personal care difficult, but without exception, the carers assured me that any help I needed would be given. This is my home now and I am very happy here.

I think the manor is a wonderful care home. The staff are so dedicated, nothing is a bother to them. Diet-wise, the chef caters to the resident's choices as best he can. The activities are second to none, always something different for the residents to do, people bringing in dogs for the residents to
pat. All kinds of entertainment to suit all tastes are happy with their care. The decor and cleanliness of the home is second to none. The fresh flowers in reception are gorgeous. Matron is very approachable for any information.

I would highly recommend Ponteland Manor. The quality of care is very good. The home is clean and tidy. The manager really cares for all the residents and treats them like family, and is very approachable. All the staff are friendly. There are daily activities to keep residents entertained.

My aunt had spent thirteen years at Ponteland Manor. She needed very little care on arrival but her needs increased with time despite her retaining her fierce independence. She was happy and well looked after. When the end came she was still treated with dignity and their support and compassion for

Paula Routledge

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

I have a degree in community health and a leadership management qualification from ILM, as well as a Level 4 in dementia care from Worcester University.


Before joining the care industry, I was the CQC-registered manager as Head of Healthcare at a male prison for 1,400 people, overseeing all aspects of primary care, secondary care and mental health substance misuse services.


I came to work at Care UK after spending a year nursing my father with a terminal illness. He had been in and out of palliative respite care, and I decided that I wanted to explore this as a career where I could give something back.


In my role as Home Manager, it’s important to have empathy and understanding and to be organised, dedicated, empowered and passionate.


My favourite part of any day is my walk around when I go and speak to residents to see how they are and try to make them smile. I am also partial to getting involved in activities with residents. I find it very therapeutic during a busy day.


At the end of the day, ensuring we deliver the best care and making the residents and their families happy, so they are always smiling and all their wishes come to fruition, is the most important part of my role. I feel proud when I see the residents happy and smiling.


I’m a very social person, and outside of work, I love to meet with friends and enjoy meals out. I love a trip to the cinema and am partial to a shopping trip too.
