Ponteland Manor is a purpose-built care home surrounded by countryside and landscaped gardens. The home provides permanent residential and nursing care as well as offering short-term respite care.

Each spacious ensuite bedroom can be personalised so you feel at home. Residents can enjoy many shared facilities including stylish lounges and a hair and beauty salon.

an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My mother moved into Ponteland Manor in September 2021.
In my opinion, Ponteland Manor is fantastic and Mum seems quite content there.
I’m always made to feel very welcome and coffee or lunch is always presented beautifully. This is very important for my Mum and does not come unnoticed.
The manager
runs a tight ship and the staff are very caring activities are great it is a very happy environment I need to get my name down but I’m only 62 so think it will be a while yet.

I needed somewhere as a matter of extreme urgency for my dear Mum, who was in hospital. We needed a peaceful place for her to die. Management and all staff were exemplary - so very kind, caring and supportive. They totally understood our needs and delivered with true professionalism and complete compassion.

My connection with the care home started in 2011 when my mother and father were admitted. My mother-in-law was also admitted in 2016 during these 8 years I have seen quite a few staff changes but overall the standard of care has been high. Only my mother remains in care and despite the many difficulties,
the staff take the time and effort to maintain a high standard of support. I cannot praise them enough.

As a family, we cannot praise the care that my father received from all staff at Ponteland Manor. Although he was only resident for a very short time the care and consideration for his well being and dignity was outstanding. This was evident from the fact that he settled into The Manor immediately and
felt privileged to be there. His last days were difficult for all the family. However, not only was his care outstanding, but the whole family was cared for by every member of staff. The administration of his care was never intrusive but was always efficient. The respect that was afforded him and the family was second to none, and we truly feel that we could not have asked for more from The Manor. The caring leadership by the management team was reflected throughout the workforce.
We recommend The Manor 100%.

As he falls great care is taken of him. His bed is lowered when he lies down and a mattress is placed on the floor in case he rolls out if he tries to get up. A hoist is used to put him into and out of bed, change positions from an easy chair to a wheelchair and for his toilet needs. If he isn't considered
fit enough meals are brought to his room. He is a messy eater and his clothes are kept clean and changed often. He would like to be able to get up and walk. There is a person who comes in to give him leg exercises, perhaps that will help him to manage a few steps.

I have been closely involved with this home since March 1999, firstly with three close relatives and latterly as a regular visitor and committee member. I have always found the level of care and nursing exemplary but wish there wasn't such a turnover of staff. Food has improved over the years. The activities

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

I have a degree in community health and a leadership management qualification from ILM, as well as a Level 4 in dementia care from Worcester University.


Before joining the care industry, I was the CQC-registered manager as Head of Healthcare at a male prison for 1,400 people, overseeing all aspects of primary care, secondary care and mental health substance misuse services.


I came to work at Care UK after spending a year nursing my father with a terminal illness. He had been in and out of palliative respite care, and I decided that I wanted to explore this as a career where I could give something back.


In my role as Home Manager, it’s important to have empathy and understanding and to be organised, dedicated, empowered and passionate.


My favourite part of any day is my walk around when I go and speak to residents to see how they are and try to make them smile. I am also partial to getting involved in activities with residents. I find it very therapeutic during a busy day.


At the end of the day, ensuring we deliver the best care and making the residents and their families happy, so they are always smiling and all their wishes come to fruition, is the most important part of my role. I feel proud when I see the residents happy and smiling.


I’m a very social person, and outside of work, I love to meet with friends and enjoy meals out. I love a trip to the cinema and am partial to a shopping trip too.
