Red Brick House is located in the village of Prudhoe, about 10 miles west of Newcastle. Staff care for people in a professional, compassionate and welcoming environment, which caters for all the needs of the residents. It offers long-term care, as well as day and respite care for local residents. Nursing staff are trained in specialist cancer, stroke and dementia care. In fact, Red Brick House has the only specialised nursing dementia unit in West Northumberland.
A key factor in the consistently high quality of care at Red Brick House is the minimal staff turnover. There is a highly professional working environment, which is also relaxed and friendly, with plenty of support for staff, so it’s hardly surprising that people enjoy working there and don’t feel the need to move on.

Redbrick has proven to be an excellent choice of care facility for our mother. She was at another provider and went down hill quiet quickly. Once moving her to Redbrick, after an initial settling in period, she was encourage to join activities and started interacting with staff and other residents which is wonderful. The staff are interactive and supportive of her dementia needs. We find the home communicate well giving updates and reassurances which is a blessing at what can be difficult and upsetting times. Thank you for all your hard work.
Dad has been at Red Brick for 2 months now and has really settled in. My dad absolutely loves his freedom and needs to go out everyday. This is not necessarily the norm for the residential home. However they could not have been kinder or more facilitating to his needs. Absolutely tremendous.

The staff were incredible. I honestly don't know how they do the job they do as there is so much sadness. They always had a smile for my wife and me, a kind action that helped me enormously.

My dad was moved to the Red Brick five weeks ago from the hospital on a temporary basis until a care package is put in place. In the meantime, the care home has fulfilled his needs, and the staff are very helpful.

Mam has been living in Red Brick for nearly six years. Could moment on the food and activities as its a closed door at meal times. No relatives in the dining room. Mam has been living in Red Brick for nearly six years. Could moment on the food and activities as its a closed door at meal times. No relatives in the dining room. I don't know what the food is like but when I asked what mam has eaten the choices sound very varied and nutritious. Man is nearing the end of her life and has little to no mobility, and no comprehension so can't participate in activities. Laundy is still the letdown. Shrinking and other people's clothes in mams drawers or she is wearing them.
